I am debating upgrading from standard at the NPB to Admirals floor. Its £50 extra.
Is this worth it? Are there any major benefits? We go the end of November this year and it will be myself, husband and two kids.
Thanks in advance for your opinions and info!

Also forgot to ask if anyone has come across pictures of how the new admiral floor rooms will look after the renovation?

We've been to the NPB twice (2010 & 2011) and we did the Admirals Floor for the second trip. We only had our son with us but the larger room on the Admirals floor was a definite bonus in the second trip.

Ooh sounds good. Is it much bigger then standard?
My TA said breakfast to our room is free, can anyone confirm this?

Hi kizzy we did admirals floor when we stayed at NPB...... Our room had a balcony, room service and it's own check-in desk...... There were big Q's at the regular check-in from what I remember.......we got breakfast in our room 2 of the days as there were huge q's On the first day......as far as I recall there was no charges and a huge tray full of continental goodies. 50 Euro does not seem much to upgrade.....just remenbered we got towels at pool too lol

Thanks a mill Jo, I'm going to mull it over another few days and see. Would love to hunt down some pics of how the new rooms will look but google is the enemy this evening!!

No better woman!!!! What you thinking about the characters being withdrawn from the hotels? I can't believe it all our best photos involve random hotel character meets.........making me question why I am paying way over the odds for Dh next November!

I think they are to stay at DLH :)
It doesn't really affect us terribly as we are normally down to EMH for 8/8.30 so we never see them but its a bit unfair & i loved that the characters had hotel specific outfits. Had amazing interactions with Pluto and James one morning in HNY. James had been a bit afraid of the characters that trip & Pluto was great! He sat in james' buggy & the cm gave out! Hilarious! We'll miss those interactions alright but only for I'd mistakenly thought EMH was on and was back to the hotel about 9am we wouldn't have met Pluto. Its not something we would plan to do. Its a shame for those who love those meets though.

We stayed AF and had two lovely big rooms with balcony and great views. If we'd wanted breakfast in our room there would have been a charge (Aug 2012) and although we didn't bother, it is nice to have the option. While we were there AF guests were directed to the Yacht Club for breakfast with no queues whereas standard room guests were in Cape Cod with very long waits for tables although breakfast crowds probably won't be a problem in November.

If you're likely to go swimming the complimentary towel hire will be a big plus - on our last holiday we went to the pool three days and as there was 5 of us that saved us €30.

We didn't originally pay to stay AF, I'd booked standard rooms but upgraded for less with a new offer, but I think it's worth paying £50 for even if only for your room being in the main block so no long walks down corridors in the wings to get to your room - not much fun for tired little legs.

Thanks Elaine, it sounds great. The breakfast in our room bit wasnt much of a sway for me as I prefer not to eat where I'm sleeping -crumbs in bed and all that! - but the bigger rooms in a better location does make it very tempting. I think I will hold off a few days and upgrade then, thanks again :thumbsup2

I would for the extra room with two little people :)

We arrive a day before you in November! I'm so excited already! :cool1:

Oooh where are you staying Mrs T? Its lovely having this to look forward too. I'm so excited hubby is coming too, took a lot of talking around but all worth it! Have the hats, gloves and scarves got already :hyper:
Sounds good. Our last stay at NPB was full of long walks - it was torture albeit in hot weather. We were lazy a few times and got the little land train.

We are staying on AF at the NPB this year, first week in October so hoping to catch some halloween atmosphere. We have only stayed in SL last 2 times and DLH twice before that but really wanted to try something different this time, the refurb NPB looks superb and I really fancy staying there.

If you want to see more pics I posted some links to articles to the hotel info sticky on the NPB. Great news. I think it looks beautiful too :yay:

We're finally staying at the pink palace, which is making me even more hyper about it

We're booked in to the DLH in 88 sleeps! Too excited lol! Bringing Mam to spoil her! Be lovely in November though as we'll be there in time for the new EMH arrangements.

Thanks Rach!! Delighted now! Be grand to spoil DH a bit & he loves all things nautical. He's got his own little sea boat but its taken a battering with the storms :/

Ah so close!

What's happening with EMH? I've been out of the loop for a while :)
