I made my daughter's bday dinner res at San Angel inn a long time ago, and I could have sworn that then the calendars were saying that illuminations was at 9. Now I'm checking times and it's at 8. Assuming it will work out where we could step back outside and watch the fireworks. Mexico's so closed off, it's not just a quick step outside, so I wasn't sure how they would feel about it. Best laid plans!!!!:confused3

What day is this for?

Try seeing if you can book a new reservation for a later time. People cancel all the time...just keep trying!

It's for Friday night, I've looked online and they are booked, I guess I'll just have to check while we're at Epcot. Thanks for the reply.

I've never heard of illuminations being at 8, only 9. That's weird. Is there a special event? I say go to your dinner late. Head inside after illuminations. They'll take you.

Maybe it's a mistake and illuminations will be at 9pm.

I wonder, too. I've never heard of something like this.

Thanks, I know, I could have sworn it said 9 when I did the reservations. I'm usually on top of these kinds of things. I'm sure it will all work out, it's Disney right???

Several months ago the time for Illuminations on Fridays was changed to 8:00. This was the case when we were at WDW in February and it appears to still be the case.

To the OP: I would try to change the time of dinner. If you show up for you 8:00 ADR, are seated and then the entire party gets up and goes outside to watch Illuminations for 20 minutes, they will likely give your table away.

And I don't think you should go late. There have been people turned away when they are late. With this being her Bday dinner, how heartbreaking that would be to not get in.
Illuminations is special, but it is your daughter's bday is she old enough to choose if it comes down to it?

It all worked out perfectly, the online schedule via DIS & others was 8, but when we arrived at the Swan & Dolphin, the schedule said 9, and it was. It all worked out perfectly!:yay:

Epcot has been closing at 8 on Fridays. That's why Illuminations was listed at 8.
