Now we cant go to US, EVER, just WDW.

Some of our group love US but WDW now has the 7 day pass ($199) for the same price as 4 days. We usually go for 1 week and now nobody seems interested in US. Is this WDW strategy paying off? I used to be able to say $99 a night at RP and FOTL all day, but now thats been closer to $200 plus. I am losing my arguments. :badpc:

Wow I hadn't heard there was a 7 day $199 pass for WDW. Is it on their website ?

I'm sure it is, its plastered all over at the gates (EPCOT entrance etc). You have 14 days to use them or they expire and we only have a week anyway. For another $50 they never expire. I guess a few of us could blast over one morning and rip through IOA and then go back for an evening at WDW. Cripes. :sad2:

It isn't a park hopper pass though. And now, if Disney continues to lower prices, your Orlando vacation won't be as expensive when you spend a few days at Universal too.

I know what you mean. I was all set to include US in our next trip. When It came time to buy the US/IOA tickets, I couldn't do it.

That one day would have cost almost $300.00. :earseek: I could add an extra day to our MYW passes for less than $10.00. :confused3

I really want to visit the Universal parks, but I just can't bring myself to spend that much more to go there.

Yea I know-thats another $35 ($5 per day extra). Not sure we need it though if we are going in everyday for 7 days straight. Lower is always better, just need to convince others we should spend the money we can save by going to US. But think about it, you move over to US for a couple days and you have valid WDW tickets in your pocket that are going to waste. Its a tough sell. :worried:

We were going to get the flextickets but may do this also if it really is $200 for 7 days. I don't see it anywhere on their site though.

Thanks!

(going to WDW in 17 days!)

Your loss. :confused3

Once you go there your vacations will be cheaper because you will start cutting out WDW.

Agreed. You can buy 4 preferred annual passes for Universal for the price of one PAP to Disney.

Another option is to jump up to a 10 day ticket to WDW add the no experation option and spread the ticket over 2 or 3 trips. That's what I'm going to do after my current tickets run out. You save money on Disney and you still have time for Universal.

Why cut out WDW? - 1st time to Universal this year; bought 1 PAP, got great rate @ HRH (they were even offering 1 night free with 3 purchased) and two FAN discouted Buy 2, get 3 free Days tickets. An approximate ticket price of less than $400, hotel less than $140/night. FOTL - Priceless! :cool1:

We also went to WDW, and bought the 7 night MYW and added on PH & no expiration feature. Will use left over tix for next trip, hopefully as a DVC member! Also, will try and time the next trip to Universal before the PAP expires for even more value.

Now that we've discovered Universal, it will be very difficult to skip it when going to WDW.

I may actually bring that approach up, need to figure the cost per day etc. Thanks.

Universal has a 3 day ticket that is like a park hopper for 111.78. That is with tax. That breaks down to around 37.00 a day.
You can also get a 14 day flex ticket for less than 200.00 that will include Universal, IOA, Wet and Wild and Seaworld. You can go wherever you want in a 14 day period. I sell alot of these tickets because they are such an incredible value. That seems like a much better value than Disney's 199.00 deal because you are stuck at the same park all day with the Disney ticket and it doesn't include any water parks. If you decide to do one of those it is around 40.00 extra a day. With the Universal ticket or the Flex ticket you have the flexibility to go to different parks on the same day so that if one is too crowded for you, you can go to another one.
I think it's a shame that someone would travel all the way to Orlando and only go to Disney when there is so much more out there to do.

10 day MYW tickets with no expiration are $318 (tax included) at www.ticketmania.com. If you want to add parkhopping and plusses it is $379. However if you signup for the mousesavers newsletter at www.mousesavers.com you can get a link that will save you even more money. ($358 for 10 day, park hopping, plusses and no expiration)

that is also what we are going to do, when you get to the pricing of the 8,9,10 day tix the price difference is about $5. for each additional day! they really sock you for 3 days & under. it may take a few years to use up the days, but we will.

I totally agree!!
over in the disney discussion board, some people are actually saying they will never go to USF because they feel it is like being a traitor to disney!!

I DON"t get it!!!!!!!!

Those are the ones often referred to as "high on pixie dust".

Sometimes one of those comes over here trying to start trouble with a "Disney > Universal" thread. :badpc:

I wouldn't know what to do if I had a 7 day pass to WDW. It just doesn't take that long to see everything in the parks.

I personally prefer to split my time evenly between the two resorts. Universal may get more this time though just because. ;)
