We are in villa 21 which is a very short walk to the pool. Part of me wishes we were a little farther from the pool, since the grounds here are soooo lovely.

The beach house isnt a long schelp.... 5-10 minute drive. We parked underground today and it was so nice to not have a boiling hot car when leaving.

We ate lunch at signals... not bad. Frozen drinks at the bar were quite nice.

Now we are killing time before Arts and Crabs at 2.

Have I mentioned how much I love it here!

Temp 95 very partly cloudy. Doesnt seem hot when your in the water.

So much to do, so little time.

Thank you! Sounds like you should have a car though, yes?
PS Your kids are adorable!:yo-yo:

Thanks so much for the great report! Just reading it makes me want to go there next year. Too bad we've already invited extended family to go WDW with us! ;)

I am so happy to read your wonderful reports! Our Dd will be moving to Charleston this Sept. and I'm thinking HH would be the perfect place to go and have her join us for a little 'together' time.
:D

So glad to hear your having a wonderful vacation. HH is the best DVC resort. Our family always requests to stay by the pool area. We LOVE the spaciousness of the 2-BR units there. Is this your first trip there?

Do we really have to leave Sunday???? None of us want too. I wish I had Caskbil's planner loaded into my laptop, so I could see how many points it would take to stay the whole month of June in a two bedrom.

Dh and I talked and a yearly trip here is now a must. This is a real vacation. Summer.... love it.

We just finished up the 'family banner' and the girls are at the pool until it is time for the 'unbirthday'party at 3, then birdhouses at 4, and I am taking the girls kyacking at 630. High tide is at 4 something, so I am hoping it is still high enough to see dolphins (havent mentioned we might see them, just in case we dont ) Boy is napping, and will prolly be out for at least 2 hours so I am relaxing on the balcony, surfing the web.... if only I had a glass of wine... no scratch that, a glass of wine and I would be napping myself... hmmmmm that sounds kinda of nice.... maybe tomorrow!

Oh no.... I just thought of all the stuff I have to do when I get home! We are building an addtion, moving, and a slew of other things.... ACK

I WANNA STAY LONGER!!!!!!:bounce:

Oh, I know exaclty how you feel! DH has to drive us onto and off of the island because I'm so happy to get there that I cry and so sad to leave that I cry again!

It sounds like you're having a fantastic week! Can't wait to get there on Sunday. DS11 must have said 5 times already today that he wishes it was Sunday. He just informed me that he's 'packed', meaning that he has some DVD's to play on the laptop, a notebook and pens for writing, and his gameboy and games for the ride down. If only it were that easy! :p

Meanwhile, I'm trying to pack and do last-minute run through cleaning the house because MIL is staying here to critter-sit while we're gone. Plus, it's been cooler and a steady drizzle here all day, which makes me just want to take a nap!

Guess I'd better quit dreaming and get moving!

Thanks for posting from your vacation.

Laura, we are going at the end of August and now we can't wait (staying at Grand Ocean though).

I remember you were trying to figure out about a baby seat on the bike or something. What did you end up doing? I will have a 3 year old (just turned 3) and I am thinking about putting her on my rental bike, what are the options?

Thanks and enjoy!!!!

Thanks for posting Laura! We went to HH last summer for the first time and LOVED it. Can not wait to go back. Very good friends of mine are there this week as well, I am sure they spent a lot of time at the pool as well. She is a DISer as well...wonder if you ran into them. We went last summer with them and had just an amazing time. I can't wait to hear all of her details.:D

We figured it out.... we didnt rent bikes :teeth: Too hot. To muggy.

I am not sure if your three yo would fit on the toddlar seat ON the bike. A trailer would work..... I am not sure if they have the bike on bike option here, but I am sure elsewhere on the island they do.

Today is the first hot hot day. But then again we havent been in the pool yet. Kids spent the morning at the kids club (butterfly theme today) while DH, boy and I ate breakfast at the Hilton head Diner.... if was fair. But nice to eat a meal with only one kid. lol

We had lunch at the salty dog.... temps near 99 degrees... hot

Someone was backing out their boat on the launch at South Beach at low tide. The rear wheels of their suburban slipped off the ledge and the boat smashed into the back and broke the rearwindsheild, then dragged the suburban down and under. Quite a sad site. No one was hurt. They were working on it for the hour we were there with no progress.... as we were driving out two more tow trucks were headed to the site. The only way t get it out is to but a bladder in it and raise it up over the ledge... I wonder if it will make the local news.

Yesterday we saw dolphins on the sunset kyack tour. It was wonderful. Soooooo close. I have lots of pictures. Next year I want to rent a kyack for the week. To heck with bikes... I much rather paddle around the marsh.

We alsoo caught the tale end of the campfire... just in time for smores!

Too bad we have to leave tomorrow.

Ihave been proudly DISplaying my DIS fanny pack, but no DISrs have com,e up to me.... perhaps we are scary.... lol

I didn't see you, I was looking for fellow Dis-ers too!
We never went to the beach though-I am not a beach person at all. LOL We stuck around the Big Dipper Pool, always had chairs by the baby pool.
