Now that youre married or are planning to get marryed...

TexasCourt, what part of NC? I'm another Courtney from NC. I'm from the mountains and went to college in the triangle. I consider myself homeless for the time being...

DF and I both still live at home, but we're moving into our very own apartment in mid-July and getting married in August. It will be the first time either of us have been "on our own"

I am in Durham going to Duke...how about you?
I went to NCSU back in the day, but I am finishing grad school at a tiny school in the mountains now. I just went to a wedding at Duke in March. I love it over there. I'm a big fan of the triangle area in general. So much so that I'm moving back in that direction now.

Oh, and I live in Rainbows, too. Best flops ever.

That is so crazy! One of the girls in my nursing school got married at Duke Chapel in mid-March....and she went to NC State for undergrad...maybe the same girl?!?:) Triangle area is great! It has been wonderful living here.....I am a Texas girl at heart though, and all my family is there....they would kill me if I decided to stay. Sadly, they don't pay nurses very well in this area, which really shocked me when I moved out here.:confused3 I will miss Cosmic Cantina and A Southern Season desperately when I move back to Texas!

P.S. What are you in grad school for?

I did my first two years of college in NC... I went High Point University... Lame-o, but still! I came back to Florida to save money.

Not lame-o! I have some friends here in nrsg school that are from High Point. Now that you are in Florida just means that you are that much closer to the mouse!:goodvibes

For 4 years DF and I lived 800 miles apart. We moved into an apartment when we moved to Portland together last summer. We will be here until he gets out of grad school and then I am looking forward to getting a house! For now, we are enjoying our place.

wow, my youngest son is driving cross country this coming Monday to visit his friend in Portland! so is it as beautiful as I think? and how are housing costs out there? he's thinking about staying.

Michelle:cloud9:

We lived in an apartment before we got married (actually, before we even started dating), and live in an apartment now. We've been through three apartments in the two years we've been together... from a 2 BR shared with another couple, to a tiny studio, to the current lovely 1 BR.

DH and I live in a rented townhouse just north of downtown. In theory, now that we're done paying for the wedding, we can continue saving for a house (hopefully next year). However, with all my homeowner friends complaining about taxes, insurance, and maintenance, I'm really not as excited as I thought I would be to buy a house around here! (not to mention how poorly roofs mix with hurricanes!)

The girl I know is in the divinity school and actually went to Meredith for undergrad. I'm a school psychologist, or I will be the second I defend that thesis. Stinks about the pay-supposedly it's better in the mountains.

BubMunkeyBles-High Point isn't lame!

My fiance had a double-wide modular home in a mobile home park prior to us meeting. We're living there. Quiet neighborhood, country-like surroundings - I absolutely love it there.

We have our own 2 bed apartment that we bought 6 years ago. When we return from the wedding we plan on decorating and putting it up for sale Spring/Summer 2008 for our move to Australia:woohoo:

me and df came down from long island new york to do the disney college program and decided to stay. We bought our home 1 year ago. It is a nice home 3 bedroom 2 bath kitchen dining area den and a large lanai. It was new. we think it will be a nice place to start a family.

abbypan- i would love to have a new neighbor. let me know if you need some ideas of areas and all. The houses here are at a nice price right now.

ha! that would be real nice. Are you anywhere near the Orlando area. I have friends in Ocoe-(is that how you spell it? durr:rolleyes: )

I will def have to pm you!;)

Although Cori's idea is quite nice too...living on the Mexican coast would be priceless!!!

DH was renting a house and I own my house. His lease wasn't up so we had two homes for seven months after we were married. It wasn't too bad because he was able to gradually get everything moved in here.

AbbyPan - I'm right down the street from Ocoee (you were close :)). I live in Windermere. The only part of Ocoee I'm familiar with is the all the stores and restaurants on 50.

My DF and I live in my mom's house. She built a house 5 miles behind the castle. I finished up my college program in May of 05 and she told me if I found roommates I could move in instead of renting it out. So I did! I met DF in January of 06 and around August he moved in. My mom still lives in Maryland and is trying to move down here within the next couple of years. I think we'll still live here after my mom moves in. It's a huge house and you can't beat the price! And I would miss watching fireworks every night. ;)

DH bought our house about 5 months before the wedding and I moved in about 3 months before the wedding. Prior to that we were living a couple hundred miles apart in apartments. It's been about 2 years since he bought it and we're still remodeling and fixing it up the way we want.

DH and I live in a 2 family. We love it. He also owns a house with the ex and thats where she and the kids live.
