Now that there are no more non-expiring tickets....

Just wondering what others are doing . I usually buy an AP for myself as I go to WDW 1-3 times per year. DH goes every other year or so. We have always bought him the longest available non-expiring ticket which he used over several years. Now that Disney no longer offers that ticket, what are others doing? We would normally go to the parks 3 days in a 5 day trip with him as he likes to relax at the resort. I know for sure we will not buy 3 day ticket every time he goes as the prices are so high. Has this change in tickets changed the way you vacation at Disney?

We've just had to suck it up and buy the ticket. My DS8 and I have AP's and my DH has two days left from a non-expiring ticket. We went over Christmas week and were going into the parks for 5 days. I decided to just buy a 5 day ticket instead of a 3 day to add to the non-expires as the cost difference between 3 and 5 wasn't bad. We will use the last two probably over a weekend this year and then, it will just be regular tickets for him. :guilty:

I have an AP and just renew every year as I go twice a year for at least 5 days each. My son is retired military so usually gets military tickets, he just retired this year and hasn't gotten his new ID yet so I bought him 7 day PHs from parksavers, they had a special 7 days for the price of 4.

We have a few trips left on our NE tickets and by then we'll have to see what the options and prices are. I think it's likely we'll stop going on an annual basis and do less frequent trips that are longer. That may also mean staying offsite instead of onsite.

Still trying to figure this out as well, my dd's and I have AP's and family in FL was using NE tickets as they usually only join us for a day or two each trip and one of those days is usually a water park day. We have had great luck with the 10 day NE with the extras but we are down to about 4 days for them. I think we will go ahead and get 4 day tickets for them during our April trip and save the NE tickets to use piecemeal. I am working out which trips it makes sense to purchase tickets for vs using 1 or 2 days of their NE tickets along with a waterpark or Disney Springs day. Wish I scooped up 3 more NE tickets from UCT before they sold out ;(

I'm thinking about getting the FL resident weekday select pass, I still have 5 days left on my non expiration ticket though

Vacation somewhere else every not and then?

Oh thanks but we do travel often to other destinations - just came back from VA and MI, spend summers in NH, went to Lake Placid last month, I am at the beach now....
we just happen to have family close to WDW and enjoy spending time there together

OP here and we do vacation elsewhere. Just got back from Puerto Rico and we have a beach cottage we visit at least every other weekend.

I am thinking we may do something like this also.

I wish we had bought more also. Hopefully Disney will offer special tickets like they did last year for DVC members or any ticket deal, otherwise it will be less or no park days for him. He would actually be OK with that, but we like access to the parks for our favorite restaurants....This is a good example of Disney shooting themselves in the foot. We buy an expensive park ticket to enter and buy an expensive meal! We'll be forced to eat offsite or cook in our DVC villa.

Still using up our NE tickets, when we've used them up if we still feel like going we'll have to decide between the (now crappy) FL resident tickets or possibly APs

I wonder how many people they'll lose with discontinuing this option (of course once all of the currently in use tickets have been used). It was a nice option to have, definitely a sad thing to lose it

I was thinking that also. People are still using those tickets and the ramifications, if there are any, probably won't be seen for awhile.
