Now that I got free dining, what do I do about CRT?

Got Free Dining with the code. :woohoo: But I'm pretty sure when I booked CRT breakfast, they charged it to my card and it's been paid for. Now that it should be free, do I need to call Dining and have them credit our card? :confused3

I would. Just remember it is 2TS meals. Actually you have a choice, you can keep things as they are, get a credit back to your card or dine and use your 2TS when you arrive and let them credit the amount on a GC for spending money.

Thanks! Hmm, we get 7 days of dining, and had 6 TS ADR's, one of which is CRT, so it worked out just right- needed 7 credits and got 7 credits. I think I will try to get the credit card credited. DH thought 6 ADRs is more than enough!

I would keep it paid for and add on a character breakfast or something....

They will credit your CC no problem. I am sure they are doing that for lots of people this morning!!!

Crunching a few numbers for you:

CRT breakfast for 2 adults/2 kids: about $130 or 2 Table Service Credits

Any of the following character breakfasts will cost 1 TS or about $70 with tax and tip:

Crystal Palace
Tusker House Donald's Safari
Cape May Buffet Character Meal
Boma Breakfast
Maya Grill
1900 Park Fare breakfast
O'Hana Character breakfast

So while obviously getting $130 refunded is nice....the fact is that with those 2 TS you could have 2 meals instead of 1. You'll have to buy breakfast somewhere, and while the character breakfasts are probably about double the cost of a food court/CS breakfast, you'll still be spending that cash somewhere to eat.

I just went through the same thought process for us.....after getting the free dining I immediately booked CRT and California Grill....two places that we'd deemed outside the budget that could now be "free".....but because they were both 2 TS it meant that I'd have to pay for 2 meals somewhere along the way.....even if they were CS meals instead of the nicer TS meals, it was still a small chunk of money that wasn't necessary. So, if Disney's computers ever come back up I'll be cancelling those two and instead we'll have 4 meals instead of 2 paid for by free dining! I see that as 2 less meals I'll have to pay for out of pocket...and with them being "free" it won't strain the budget if we do the nicer character breakfasts (or early lunches at a TS which we're leaning towards) instead of a CS meal OOP because it's cheaper.

Whatever you decide, I'm sure you're going to have a fantastic time!

Good points. DD will be 10 at the time so we're paying for 3 adult meals at CRT. I don't know what I'll do yet. It looks like Rainforest Cafe is not on the DDP? So that means there's another TS free. If I don't get CRT credited, I would have 3 TS and I'm not sure I want 9 ADRs in 6 days. We already have 4 character meals, I think.

Geeze, I thought I was all done with the ADR stuff long ago.

Did you say Disney's computers are down??

Even with the dining plan, they will not credit your card until you actually show up at the reservation. The whole point of the prepayment is to make sure that you actually go to your adr since it's such a highly coveted reservation. Once you go, they will credit your card and take away your dining credits.

I agree a bit as well. We've been to California Grill long ago (before the dining plan existed). If it included an appetizer and tip, that would be worth two credits, but honestly just for an entree and dessert (which we rarely if ever get) it's not really worth it to me.
