You can just buy either a macro extension tube or a macro adapter lens for about $100 per set and you can start taking making macro pics on the (elatively) cheap.

Thanks Dan, with the Canon 100mm macro lens I belive the minimum focus distance is 12 inches, so yes you are pretty close to the subject.

Thanks. I was mostly curious as to the insects, how you can get so close without them flying or running away. Very cool.

I am enjoying my new camera so much, I even took it outside with me this morning to put out the trash , to take a picture of my house in the dark using nightshot mode. Anyway, it is very foggy her in Orlando this morning - I thought the effet of the fog on the picture was quite interesting! Who says it doesn't SNOW in Orlando!

Then you should be able to use it with your other Canon lens. (provided they have the same lens mount (I can't remember what lens mount EOS-1 uses, but I think it uses EF mount)
