Experience a neighborhood block party at sea! Join us on the Disney Dream from August 24 to August 28, 2014 on a Bahamian sailing out of Port Canaveral, Florida.

2 stops at CC?

Yes.

Members have claimed the island! What's better than a day in paradise? Two days in paradise!

Our community's shared passion for all things Disney extends to the voyage's itinerary, which features two scheduled stops at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, bookending an activity-filled day at sea.

This is odd. Isn't this the trip that DCL cancelled, which got people who had already reserved very upset? If so, I thought they said that the cruise was privately chartered.

Yes. It is. DVC is a separate entity from DCL. DVC had to buy the date from DCL in order to make it the private members only sailing.

I know the Member Cruises are more expensive then going on a normal one, but this happens to fall directly over my 35th bday and I'm very excited. We were thinking about going to WDW next year over this time anyway. Plus I'm excited I don't have to take our children out of school. That was one thing that bothered me about all the last members cruises is the kids would have to miss school. I also know this is during Hurricane Season, but I'm still willing to go :goodvibes.

Now I'm trying to figure out which room category we should go with. I don't understand why on the points chart is says Cat 5E is only on Deck 5 when I noticed on DCL site it's on other decks also :confused3. I'm so excited this is in August :)

Most likely, just an error on the point chart.

That's what I was figuring. Because this is a members cruise will they allow me to pay for our kids on points, but pay for the adults in cash? I spoke to a CM a long time ago about using points for a non-members cruise and they said we had to use points for at least 1 adult to use points for a child. Just wondering if this was true for Members Cruises also?

I think they've done the member cruise in September in past years, which we could never do because of school. Can't do 2014, but hopefully they repeat this date in future years. Going for 2 stops at CC and none at Nassau would be absolutely great.

For the member cruise, you can even pay for everyone on cash if you'd like. Most cruises via DVC require you to use points for one person (because, if you're just using cash, DVC really has nothing to do with it - just call DCL). But since DVC has bought out the whole ship for the member cruise, they'll let you do the whole thing on cash. That's one less set of points they have to "cash" on the rental market to pay DCL.

Thanks :). I did know you could pay all in cash but unfortunately that's a lot out of pocket for our family of four all at once next week. We were thinking of only using points on the kids as this would help with the cost without really killing us on points. In the past I've called and asked about non-member cruises and I was told no matter what I needed to pay for an adult on points if wanting to use points for a child. I called Member Services the other day and they told me for the members cruise I can pay for the kids on points while paying for the adults in cash.

Are taxes, port fees, and standard gratuities included in the points price?

Yes.:goodvibes

I thoroughly enjoyed this past January's MC. I will skip next year's because DH and I have already booked a DCL double dip cruise for next October. We are doubling up with F&W, and cannot justify another trip to FL!

I am booked for the Members only cruise!! 2 hours into being able to book and all the interior rooms were booked. Had to get a verandah room. Hold time was crazy!! Total time on phone was crazy.... 1 hour!!!!

But super excited! Cruise fever is back on!!

Greetings from Virginia! We've sailed with DCL in the past and heard from other members that the Members Cruise was an affair not to miss! I spent 4 hours trying to get through this morning and another 47 minutes on the phone once I got past the busy signal. I had hoped to save a few points and get an inside stateroom. By the time I got through, the website stated that there were oceanview rooms still left. Eventually, I got a member services agent on the line and was told that the oceanview rooms were all booked as well. We were able to get reservations for a verandah. I won't complain. Im very excited and the member services agent couldn't have been more helpful and patient!

This is my first Members cruise and I'm excited about the 2 days at Castaway Cay. Sending pixie dust your way!
