We booked with the bounce back offer for free dining during our last stay. We booked for the last week in Sept... And just last night I confirmed a resort change (upgrade, woo-hoo!!) with my TA... I was showing pictures of the resort to my son this morning and somehow got to a page that showed prices on a calendar... And I'm seeing that it's $51 cheaper per night the week before our we are booked to go. We REALLY want to be there for Food & Wine and military discounts on MNSSHP, but since dates aren't known for those yet, I'm just using an educated guess. Last year F&W started earlier than its norm, but MNSSHP mil tix ended a hair earlier. WWYD? Just keep spying on the calendar for those and adjust dates if possible, later?

If you're talking about changing to the week of 21st from 28th, I think you'll be fine on both accounts. If you're talking about changing to week of 14th, that's a little dicey in terms of F&W. I expect they'll start it at least as early as they did last year (the 19th), but you never know. As for military MNSSP tickets, you should be fine.

Yes, we'd switch to Sept 20 check in. I think 9/28 was the last military ticket for MNSSHP last year. How much is my TA going hate me? I'm calling her at noon to make a payment.

Any idea which week will be harder to find rooms for?

Did you double check that it's that much cheaper the week before? Are you comparing a weekend rate to a weekday rate maybe?

We're staying at Port Orleans French Quarter the last week of Sept and for both POR and POFQ the room price is the same all the way from Sept 11th thru Oct 8th.

I just priced out the week earlier and it's an avg of $31 cheaper/night. So I'm guessing weekends stay the same price (or pretty close) and only weekdays drop. But weekdays were DEFINITELY $51 less per night on the calendar I saw... That I now anger back to

Hmm, the info at www.portorleans.org shows the rates to be the same for that entire period:

Are you comparing the same number of nights in each case? Same nights of the week? Same room type? Same type and number of park tickets?

Maybe there's a promo that it's adding the for the week earlier, but by the info in the attached link (which is pretty reliable), the room price shouldn't be any different. Hmm...:confused3

Yes. I am sure. We aren't staying at POR. We will be at Poly. And crowd calendars (from 2014) look lighter the week before too...

O.k., gotcha. :thumbsup2 I thought POR due to your signature...

Crowds the week before may be slightly lower, (touring plans shows them about equal) but we're talking really low, versus really really low. ;)

Take care. Have a great trip.

Yes we originally re-booked with POR, but found we'd spend a tiny itty bitty bit more to switch to Poly, pay OOP for dining plan, and use military discount for room and AFS tickets and have the monorail close. TA is checking into the earlier week. Then my only worry will be F&W. If it's not as early as it was last year, I may have to extend a day or two. And we all know how terrible it would be to do THAT! ;-)
