I have all my ADRs planned (tomorrow's my 180 day) for the DxDDP. We haven't added it to our package yet. We have DDP added and we wanted to upgrade to DxDDP. Now I'm not so sure. I've done the math and thought it was the best idea.

Now I"m wondering if we should just stick with the DDP. We're staying at BLT ina 1br so we will have a kitchen and can get food delivered. Should we just buy breakfast food and eat before leaving the room, then CS for lunch and TS for dinner?

I'm not sure if I want to deal with CS restaurants this time, they are kind of a headache for us and are not really the type of food we like to eat. We don't do a lot of fast food so burgers, etc all week just won't sit well in our tummies. Are there many other options?

So, should we upgrade to DxDDP or just stick with DDP? Our kids are going to be 3 and 18 months. Neither of them eat a lot of standard kid fare either, they prefer real food over mac n cheese, chicken nuggets, etc

Personally I'd say go deluxe. You're on VACATION! Why would you want to cook or deal with CS (if you don't like it)? I would think the convenience and ease of being on the Deluxe plan would fit your needs the best and would make the trip more relaxing for you guys. Just my opinion...

Funny I am going thru this same thing. It is me DH and dS (who will be 4) but should work out the same for you (since your youngest is free).

For 6 nights the difference is $456 for all three of us.

Or $76 more a day which gets you an extra meal and an extra snack a day per person. Plus apps at the TS meals and the refillable mug (which I love).

We arent big fast food people (well hubby isnt) and the thought of CS and waiting in line etc is making my head spin. But then having to be on such a schedule. And you have to figure in more tips.

I just don't know either.

You have to do what works best for your family. This will be our second year on the DxDDP, not sure I'll go back either! We enjoy having a nice meal and being waited on and relaxing inside for a bit. It's not that we don't enjoy some of the CS places, but since we have started going in the summer again, it just doesn't work out. I get tired of trying to find a table and fight through the line with out some one that isn't paying attention knocking my tray out of my hands. Maybe if we go back again during a quieter time we will go back to the DDP, or even try the CS plan, but I doubt it we enjoy the options too much. A lot of food yes, but no one says you have to order it all and you can share meals.

I say do it.. But, just remember, its not like you are at home eating 2 meals a day.. You are Disney, and their portions are huge and the food you get is way more than you would eat if you were home.. We found that when we did 3 meals we were overstuffed.. This time around I am doing DDXP for 4 nights out of my 8, but I have no more than 2 ressies per day..

We had the DXDDP and that is how we would do it again. We did character breakfasts and signature dinner. I could not do CS every day, it is stressful, standing in line, finding a space etc. I needed my break to sit down and enjoy dinner and we truely enjoyed all the signature restaurants we went to. We ocassionaly shared a cs lunch in a park.

I completely agree. I would go for the deluxe. You don't want to do your own meals when you are on vacation. Plus the sitting down and getting a break those few times a day can help recharge you and your kids batteries.

Personally, I'd go with the DxDP in your situation.

But it's a very personal thing, everyone has different expectations and budgets, so it comes down to what vacation experience you want.

As for the whole kids meals issue, I find that TS offers better "grown up food" variety for kids than CS does. Plus, kids eat anything they want at buffets and family style, of course.

Thank you everyone! I think I will upgrade us to DxDDP :) I made my ADRs this morning and I'm so excited that I'm 180 days out now!

I've been debating upgrading to DxDDP, mostly because we will be there 2 nights, but really 3 full days, and I'm thinking that would still give us 6 meals each. I'm thinking I understand that you have the choice of TS or CS for 3 meals per night...is that correct?

We tried the DlxDDP for the first time in December and we loved it!!!! We always went with the basic DDP and decided to upgrade this last trip and now we will only go with the deluxe plan ;). With the deluxe, you get 3 credits/pp per night to use any way you want, whether it be TS or CS :). Along with that comes 2 snacks and a refillable mug :thumbsup2.

Thanks for the info, I think I'll call to see if I can upgrade us. Our trip is Friday, so I hope it's not too late.

We stay at POP anymore and it had free dining when I booked it and came with the Quick CS service and we upgraded to where we have the one TS and a CS as we cannot eat all burgers and hot digs either for two weeks. Know is several places like Wolf Gangs in Downtown Disney and The Land that have better offerings but were there two weeks:thumbsup2 now the dxddp is just to much food for us unless doing some dinner shows and were not this trip.:dance3:

can you use TS towards signature?

Yes :)......just remember that signature restaurants use 2 TS credits per person ;).

You're welcome :goodvibes. The DDP must be added no later than 3 days prior to arrival, so changing plans should be the same......since you're a week out, you should be fine :).
