Now I'm afraid to go to Liberty Tree Tavern - any other suggestions?

We have a PS next Sat. for Liberty Tree Tavern (only one available). However, after reading several posts I'm thinking of changing this.... $22 is alot to pay for a mediocre meal. Any other suggestions or should we give it a try? We have one picky eater, age 12.

I was hoping for Chef Mickeys but couldn't get in.....it's Spectromagic night so anything around MK appears full. Maybe a good counter meal? Any advice would be appreciated....:D

Boy, I'm not sure I would cancel that reservation. There are a LOT of good reviews of Liberty Tree Tavern on this board, esp. the salads. And, I don't think you HAVE to get the prix fix menu. Here is a copy of the menu:

I had a great meal here in the past-but it was in 1978!-so I have a soft spot for this restaurant.

Winnie Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore are the characters. Great interaction, they came by 2-3 times and they lead all the kids in a march as well that was a lot of fun.

Food was good (not great or very good note) and combined with the characters was worth the cost.

Nice atmosphere as well - bright renovated building

Thanks
Jason

The Plaza Restaurant may be available, they serve good sandwiches, burgers etc and really good sundaes!

Take the boat over to Fort Wilderness and have dinner at the Trail's End Buffeteria. The prices are reasonable, the food is good, and there's something for everyone (healthy to fattening). Plus you don't have to make a PS. :)

You could also take the boat to Wilderness Lodge and eat at Whispering Canyon Cafe. You would need a PS. I had the Little Nutty Chicken Salad there last week and it was very good. My sister had the pulled pork sandwich and it was also very good. I believe they also have an all you can eat skillet meal at dinner. In MK, we like Columbia Harbor House for a quick meal. We also ate at Liberty Tree Tavern and I thought it was good basic food. They would bring you all you want of any item.

Yes, they do have an all you can eat skillet - very very family oriented dining establishment

Thanks
Jason

I have never been to LTT but based on my "other" experiences... don't cancel. Everyone has their own tastes. There are several restaurants that I love and would not miss that do pretty poorly on some of the threads. Go and be your own judge.

Please don't cancel based on some bad reviews on here. Everyone has different tastes and different expectations when it comes to a meal. There have been many restaurants that get bad reviews on here (Sci Fi, RFC, Whispering Canyon) that we decided to try anyways and were pleasantly surprised....and vice versa. DH and I usually like to try it once and make a decision for ourselves. :)

.....and it has quickly become a favorite of ours. The food is "homecooked" and is an awesome change from the regular fare of chicken and burgers. The character interaction is great. We definitely think it's worth it.

I would give it a try and make your own opinion.........I find lots of time that lots of people have different tastes on these boards and what may be good for one is not so good for another. I hope you'll give it a try!!!

at LTT and would go back in a second.....dont cancel. Also I have found I often love the meals rated not so hot here on the board.

:D Sometimes after I read a post I wonder if I'm doing the right thing, especially if the meal is going to cost me $90 + tip for the family I want to make the right choices.....

I will do a dining report on LTT when I return:D Thanks Scottwdw for the great website - loved reading it. It convinced me to stay with my original plan......:D

My family LOVED LTT. There were 6 adults and 4 kids. And there were no complaints. Although, the Mac and Cheese is Stouffer's. But Hey, they sponsor it. We loved the salad, rolls, turkey, flank steak, stuffing, taters, and veggies. But everyone is different. Try it and decide for yourself. We are going back.

I would not change my meal plans. I love LTT. It's a must do every time we go to Disney.

I have never had a bad meal here. Like all the Disney Restaurants it get good and sometimes not so good reviews.

I love the atmosphere and the character interaction is very good.

I don't think you should cancel. Go & form your own opinion. ;)

Unfortunately any sit down will cost in that range if not more. The adv of LLT is your right on the "path" of Spectro. To go to a resort meal and then return is ALOT of extra walking. It may not be fine dinning but location and characters make it easyy to spend the extra money. WDW food prices are double real world prices IMHO. In five years I have read more positive then negative reviews of LTT.

Have Fun!!

We were there in Dec for MVMCP-

I thought the salad was very good, and the rest of the meal was medicocre- I was glad I did it once, but would not go back probably.
