LOL! or maybe :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

I am pricing airfare for spring break (Week before Easter) ... $647 per person for a Sat-Sat flight and $3,656 for 7 nights of room only in a Woods View at WL.

That same flight is $147 per person the second week of January. A woods view room at WL is $2458 ($1598 if I use the room only discount code).

Wowser.

January at Disney is cheaper, less crowded, and has cooler weather. And if you are taking kids out of school, you are not missing a "fun" period of the school calendar, like Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day, Halloween, etc. It's the best. The main downside is that at least one major thrill ride is almost always under renovation after the first week of January.

I know Disney in January would be cheaper and less crowded.......but.......isn't it chilly? I mean, I've seen pictures of people in fur boots and puffy coats in December. I don't think I'd want to ride Everest in the cold, and can you even RIDE Splash? I would love to go in January, but I'm afraid the kids wouldn't enjoy it as much as they did in the heat.

Yep - it sucks! I'm a teacher and I dream of being able to go down in the off season! One day!

I wish I would have done Disney in January when the kids were little and I did not have to worry about school. I can't believe how often I say if I would have known then what I know now. :rotfl2:

My husband and daughter went last January and had a great time. They never needed more than a lightweight fleece jacket at the most in the evenings. I am sure it varies but they enjoyed it.

Living in Florida, it is always funny to see how people dress in the winter. When it hits 65-70 you can see people in anything from shorts, to heavy winter coats and boots. If it gets down in the 50's you would think everyone is going to freeze to death!!

We went in January of 2007 and the weather was PERFECT. This January was quite chilly the last night of our trip. Usually Splash Mountain closes every January for refurbishment but in 2012 it will not be b/c Big Thunder Mountain will be closed.

We often go in January. Sometimes it is cold and sometimes it isn't, it just depends.

This year we are going in November

My first ever trip to Disney was in January, and boy was it cold! However, being young and happy to be there, we bought mickey gloves, hats, socks... and had a blast:)

Hi:
Our 1st few trips to Florida (before the kids started school) were in January. I loved it! It was still much, much warmer than New Hampshire and the pools were all heated. We still went swimming every day. We never found the need for boots, mittens or hats that the locals were wearing but everything is relative. We went from zero degrees to 60-70 and they went for 90+ to 60!
