Instead of doing a new post, I decided to just redo this one instead of having a post about my resort and another one about PS reservations and things to see.

Now with the resort thing is all done and I do mean done no more checking, changing or thinking about where I should stay. I can now start deciding on what if any PS I want to do and look into what things I want to see, and actually start looking forward to going on my vacation again.

If anyone has any suggestions on PS's reservation, where I should eat or attractions I shouldn't miss, let me know and I will start making a list so I can look into them.

Once again thanks for everyones help.

Jason

Debbie,

Sorry about that I was in the middle of updating my post when I saw that you sent a reply.

It was on usahotelguide.com

Thanks,

Jason

Good!!! You were really starting to scare me. No more of this off-site business! ASSp for $77 during the holiday is a fair rate. I think you will really like the energy and "sense of community" at this resort. Especially since you are traveling solo. The food court and pool bar is so convenient. Buses are great-first on, first off. I thin guys will like any area of this resort. I found it a little too masculine for my taste, but it is really cute. Have fun!!!!

Suzy,

Sorry about earlier. It's hard to figure out what to do when you haven't been to WDW since 1980.

I was really suprised when I saw $77, plus $9.24 (tax) a night since I was paying $127.68 a night through WDW cro.

They confirmed everything when I called, so I am sure everything is on track with my reservation, but I am a little nervous since I have never used usahotelguide.com before that I will get to Orlando and no reservation, but I am sure it's ok.

Now that there is no way of getting a cheaper rate than this at any of the WDW resorts, I can consintrate on other WDW vacation things, like playing with my new digital camcorder when it arrives tommorrow or tuesday morning, making PS arrangements and saving money.

If you think of anything that I should add to my list of things to see or places to eat, please let me know.

Congrats on finding such a great rate for the holidays!

Not sure which park you're planning on for New Year's Eve, but make sure that you have PS for that day - I saw people trying to get in at Le Cellier for lunch this past New Year's who were told that they would have to check back the following day if they wanted to eat there. Also, transportation is supposedly a nightmare New Year's Eve, so whatever park you start at, pretty much plan on staying all day. You'll probably want to get to the park early before they reach capacity and you can't get in or end up getting shuttled to another park.

A must see after not having been to WDW in over 20 years is the Boardwalk...and the Animal Kingdom, and MGM, and Downtown Disney. Gosh, you could spend all your time just trying to see what all is new there! I would also recommend some resort hopping - PO and OKW are my favorites to visit.

Also, enjoy the ASSp - it's a great place to stay!:D

mathgeek,

Thanks for your feedback. You guys have been so helpful and understanding throughout my resort switching while trying to find a better rate for the x-mas holiday period.

Eventhough finding a discount during this time rarely happens if ever and from what I read the discounts usually end on Dec 20, I was just hoping that something like this would happen.

From all of the paperwork that I printed, from the booking receipt for my records and the e-mail confirmation usahotelguide.com sent me it looks legit to me and I am sure that it is on the up and up or they would not be in business if people had problems.

Thanks again,

Jason

That's a great rate for x-mas week.

I'm not familiar with usahotelguide.com. What is their cancellation policy? Was a deposit required? If so, is it refundable if you cancel?

TIA for answering my questions.

f-LORI-da,

Now I am not happy. I paid my deposit my debit card and just checked the balance and it seems that I didn't get a cheap rate afterall. Even though the paperwork says $77 a night they charged me a deposit of 126.78, which was the same rate as I got through WDW.com. I am going to have to call them right now and find out what is going on.

I will let you know.

Jason

Just wanted to say "Hi neighbor", we live in Naperville. My brothers band will be playing the Lisle fest on 7/6....they are called THE WAY COOL RYTHYM FOOLS...Great horn band, the play the Four Lakes stage at 5p.m. Just thought I'd mention it since you live there. Have a great trip! $77 is great for x-mas!

Well it looks like that I will be paying the 127.68 a night afterall.

WDW does have the reservation information from usahotelguide.com and have been told that everything looks ok, but the rate is going to be the same as if I went through WDW.com anyways.

At this point, I am just going to leave it as is and not worry about it.

I think that usahotelguide.com should have to make good on the rate that is on the site and what rate the said was confirmed on my e-mail confirmation, but I know that won't happen.

Oh well, it is a lesson that I have learned.

Jason

Jason,

How can you be quoted one price, get a confirmation of it in writing, and still have your debit card charged a different amount??? I would not let this go just yet, if only on principle. Even if I were willing to pay the higher price I would demand an explanation.

This is because he has posted numerous different threads pertaining to the same vacation period. Obviously this is an incorrect rate and it has been corrected bt the issuing TA.

Jason,

As far as planning PS, I would recommend at least one for NYE and one for NYD, but don't overdo it so you can have some flexibility to do other things at the spur of the moment. The ASSp has an excellent food court that I enjoyed when I was there last summer, plus it was less expensive than most of the places I would have considered PS for (I didn't make any PS that trip), and it has a pretty good variety. I would also highly recommend getting a refillable mug at the resort if you drink at lot of coffee or soda - for around $10 you save a lot on drinks, plus it's a nice souvenir.

I've already put my 2 cents worth in earlier about what to see, but I will also say to not expect to see everything you want to during the time that you are there because it will be crowded.
