...The DIS-Con 2001-A Gathering of Friends.:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Where is everyone? Why-oh-Why have so many posts gone unanswered? :(

I'll start...:bounce:

I am looking forward to staying at a new resort (YC/BC), meeting fellow DIS'ers, having my DD enjoy a vacation with a dear friend of her's (Mackenzie---DD of another wonderful DIS'er), and sporting my Lime Green Ribbon. :) :) :)

Who's next? :D

I'm looking forward to going to WDW for the first time and meeting a whole lot of DIS folks!

Oh, Tia, I'm looking forward to staying a new resort, too! I just wish they'd let us know which one we're really at-YC? or BC? I prefer to stay at the YC, only because that's convention headquarters. The only other request I had was to stay at whichever of the two everyone else was at. I didn't want to be by myself.
Wow, Bashful-your first time to WDW! That is so exciting! And to think, you're sharing it with us!
I'm really looking forward to spending these few days with a great bunch of people!! I want to try and meet everyone, if that's possible!!! :)
And, of course, let's not forget the lime green ribbons!! ;)

Wow bashful....your first time??? :bounce: I think you might feel a little overwhelmed with it being your first time AND meeting all these new people!!! We'll try to be quiet while we're there so you can take in the WDW atmosphere a little.... ;) :p ;) :p

Hey Barb! I wish we knew which one it was too!!! And I hope it's the YC too!!! :bounce:

Linda said in another thread that regis. should re-open soon and that she would post that date sometime next week..... :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Yahoooooo!!!! :D

Yup our very first time to WDW. We go to Disneyland every year but have never been to the World before. It all sounds so exciting if not a little overwhelming.

IF I get in to DIS Conv. (hopefully in the next week!) I am looking forward to
My first trip to WDW solo!! NO kids, NO dh!!!!

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

smee....wow! I think there are other's doing the same thing....going solo! I think if my kids weren't so young and didn't LOVE Disney sooooooo much, I would be tempted to do this convention trip solo too. :smooth:

smee, I'm not sure if it was you or someone else, but I was reminding anyone and everyone who would listen (LOL) that even if you don't get in on the 'official events', there are going to be a kabillion other mini meets that would keep you busy meeting and greeting other DIS'ers. Hope you'll (and anyone else who might not get in on the 'official events') keep it in mind. :D :) :D :)

Thanks luvdsny!
Truth be told, it would be my first trip solo in over 12 years! It's pretty exciting to just think about going to Jellyrolls and not having to leave shortly after 11 pm to get kids out of sandcastle club!:bounce:

I had originally planned on staying at ASMO, but have convinced myself that we should stay at the Y&B, so I e-mailed Linda and changed my ressies....
Today is my 24th wedding anniversary, so technically we can be celebrating our 25th wedding anniv. a little early at the Y&B with 200+ close DIS friends.
Looking forward to the DISCON.

Happy Anniversary M&M. :D :) :D :)

24 years is something to be proud of! I hope you have a very nice day. :D

Tia

I am so looking forward to the DIS convention and meeting some of you nice people that I converse with on this site. Of course, I do alot more lurking than I do conversing, but I think that's because I like to read so much, especially anything about Disney.

You guys staying at the Y & B for the first time will love it. The proximity to Epcot and MGM can't be beat. I seriously thought about staying there for the convention, it was verrry tempting, but the convention will be our third trip to WDW this year, and I felt guilty about spending the money. Plus I've always wanted to stay at PO Riverside, and I'm looking more forward to it since it will be decorated for Christmas. Also, since this trip will just be DH and I, being close to DTD is also a plus. To justify going to the convention, DH and I decided to make it a combo Christmas/anniversary present to ourselves. We had already had a trip planned in October with the kids and their friends, as they wanted to go over Halloween, and then the convention info came up. Our October trip will be on points since we are new DVC members, so at least I won't need alot of cash all at once. Plus with all the convention events included in the plan, DH and I won't need to spend alot on food, and since there will be no kids with us, we won't be spending much on souveneirs. How's that for rationalization?:) Plus, we deserve it!!

Anyway, whenever I'm in a down mood, I just think how lucky I am to be able to go to Disney, and I'm suddenly in a better mood.:)

I like your way of thinking TeresaNJ....it all made perfect sense to me. :D :) :D :)

I am so looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones.

THIS IS GOING TO SO MUCH FUN!!

We are staying at YC/BC this is our 2nd time there, but we have done the Boardwalk are about 5 times. Anyone knew to that section will love it - so much to do ro just grabbing a bench and people watching is fun.

1. The DIS-CON is only 170 days away from today.

2. Just sent in the second payment, only one more to go!

Scott....I hope you're not referring to your second payment to Pete....because I wasn't going to send mine in until July 1st.

I better e-mail you with this concern....
