I was wondering what crowds were like the first week of Nov. We are seriously thinking of trying to plan a trip then with 3 girls 7 and under. We have been Summer, Sept, Oct, Jan, Mar. I'm pretty comfortable about knowing when to go and when to watch out for crowds. I thought we would be picking a good time for light crowds woith the girls. My hangup with this week comes with the new Wonderful Weeks of Disney link on the WDW web site. It lists mid October thru Thanksgiving as "good weeks" for the late fall except for the first full week in November, which is when we were thinking of going. Am I missing something?? Is something special going on then? I believe the Soap Weekend falls around then, does that impact the weekly crowds that much? TIA

I am also going Nov 1 -7. That week is definitely not a high crowd week, but it is Jersey Week, so crowds may pick up around the 7th through the 11th. But from everything I've read, it is not too bad. I think as long as you get to the parks early, have a plan (Unofficial Guide or TGM), and take afternoon breaks, you will be OK.

Subscribing, we are planning on going the 2nd week.

for the week of Thanksgiving. It just works for our family and we will just have to deal with the parks being crazy. We have been to Disney the last week of Nov - First week of Dec and found that to be wonderful weather. I think we will just have realistic expectations of lines and "not getting to do everything".

Good luck with your planning. I say ANY day is a good day at Disney!
:woohoo:

We went the second week in November (Veteran's Day week) last year and plan to again this year. It was awesome! Great weather and low, low crowds. That would be my recommendation. :)

We went for ten days last November (in parks 4th-15th). We were in the park for Jersey week and then three days after. We rode waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy more stuff those last three days. If you have a choice, skip Jersey week. If you don't, the crowds then are not nearly as bad as spring break, early summer, Thanksgiving or Christmas. We could have chosen any week in November and I didn't realize Jersey week exisited. :rolleyes1 I will plan better next time!

We ended up in MGM on Super Soap weekend (for dinner reservations I had made 180 days out). The crowds were horrible and we heard several people complain that it was way worse than ever before. The other parks were fine that weekend.

New Jersey public schools all close for a 2-day teacher's convention. Many families take the entire week to spend at WDW. During that week, 80% or more of the families we spoke with in line were from New Jersey. Lovely, lovely people, but when the weeks before and after are much less crowded, why go then?

You'll have to ask someone from NJ when the actual days off occur this year.

Thanks for this thread.:thumbsup2 I want to go in November this year for my DD4's 5th birthday on the 10th and stay long enough to hit the first Christmas party. We usually go in October.
Opinions???
