I will be visiting WDW for the 8th time in September and then again for the 9th time in November. I am visiting in September for my birthday and we will be using the Disney Dining Plan. The person who I will be traveling with has never been to WDW.

The person who I am traveling with is a very picky eater, does anybody have a suggestion of a restaurant to eat at that is suitable to picky eaters. I was thinking like Crystal Palace or something along that line, very basic food. Any other suggestions?

Pretty much any of the buffets will be a safe bet since they all have enough "simple" stuff thrown in there along with some specialties that everyone could find something that they like. You can look at all of the menus on here to see if you think the restaurants you are looking at have enough items they would like-http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningmain.cfm

I have found that almost all the restaurants have at least something basic on the menu for that picky eater in your group whether it's a hamburger, a chicken sandwich, spaghetti etc. And the chefs at the Disney restaurants are really good about working with people (for the most part) to leave an item off, or substitute a side etc.

Enjoy- and don't let the party pooper ruin your fun ;)

Ok, I admit that I am a picky eater, I don't eat cheese (the key issue) and there are certain high milk content or high fat content foods I can't (or shouldn't) eat!

That is the best thing about Disney World, they will change it if you like. I have oftern asked if it was ok to substitute or 'take out the cheese' if it isn't too much hassle. Once or twice they have said no because it is integeral to the dish, and I'm ok with that.

Go where you wanna go, then ask them to change it up!

i have to agree, most restaurants at WDW will accomodate anyone, sometimes they just have a good variety, other times you might need to ask for something special.

I am pretty picky- i don't do seafood, don't eat salad and don't eat a lot of veggies etc. More of a meat/potatoes type of gal. I always find plenty to eat. Even at Boma, you could eat from the kids selections (chicken fingers, fries, spaghetti) if you needed to (but i tried some exotic stuff and had plenty of selection on teh regular buffet).

Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace are pretty basic. LIberty Tree Tavern is also- turkey, beef, mashed taters, salad, mac and cheese etc. 50s prime time is fun and has a big variety of home cooked type food (meatloaf, fried chicken etc.) and has a fun atmosphere. Sci Fi has the basic burgers etc. At AK, we love Flame Tree Barbeque. At epcot- we love Le Cellier (if you can get in!) and we enjoy eating around the world and sampling a little bit of everything fast food wise- like ham and cheese croissant in france, taco in mexico, egg roll etc. There's always something and always children's choices with the good old standbys.

You guys have been such a huge help. The girl I will be traveling with doesn't eat fruits or veggies, she doesn't eat hamburgers or cheeseburgers, the only kind of pizza pep, you get my drift. I have eaten at many disney dining locations in my times spent at WDW and I know what I like, just sometimes it is hard to think about other people.

My friend was a picky eater, more so than I realized.

She was fine at counter service. The only table service we did were Crystal Palace (some "interestingly" prepared food) and Tusker House (amazingly wonderful food). I loved both places. She was extremely happy with turkey and Swiss cheese on a bagel. She was happy, but I felt bad that she paid full buffet price for a ten dollar meal.

Agree with previous posters that plain food is available. I am so happy I could eat the creative food!
