We are planning a trip in November and since we've never been that time of year I have a couple of questions I was hoping maybe some of you can help me with since you're all so garsh darn knowledgeable about this stuff!

I really want to see as much of the holiday decorations and stuff as possible without going Thanksgiving weekend, which is when I hear it's all ready to go. Do you think if we went Nov. 19-21 (Sun-Tues) to the parks that they will have most everything up since Thanksgiving is later on that week? If we did this the kids would only miss one day of school and we'd miss the after Thanksgiving crowds from what I've read are pretty bad. Now that I think about it, how bad do you think the crowds might be before Thanksgiving?

Thank you for any advice or shared experiences!!!! :wave2:

I think this is a great time to visit the Disneyland Resort! Decorations will be up, holiday fireworks and attractions, and maybe the holiday parades will be going. Crowds should be moderate on weekends and light on weekdays. You may run into warm weather at that time. I remember going one year, and it was "snowing" on Main Street in 90º weather. :flower:

I love DLR in Nov. :) Your days are perfect. Like the PP said, it'll be very light crowds and all the decorations should be up.

We're planning a Nov. or Dec. trip, ourselves. :)

The vast majority (ok, I think all of them) are up by the first weekend of November. Snow after the fireworks starts then, also. The parade starts the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Oh thank you everyone, that is exactly what I was hoping for!

I'm already too excited and it's a looong 7 months from now. To see the parks like I never have will be awesome. I can't wait to see it snow after the fireworks! :cheer2:

Umm, since that is Thanksgiving week, the parks will be fairly busy. We were there Sat-Wed before Thanksgiving this year and there were definitely a lot of people. It was totally doable, but in no stretch of the imagination could the crowds be described as "light"

Many S CA school districts now take all of that week off, so, yes, it will be more crodded.

We went this past November and loved it. We went the week before Thanksgiving week. We were able to see all the decorations (the last decorations went up on friday) and even the Christmas parade (also began on Friday).

The crowds were light on tuesday and wednesday, but it was definately more crowded on Friday. This may be the regular friday increase, but I thought it was more than that. I think maybe AP holders were attending due to the Christmas parade and decorations going up.

Nearly all decorations are up the week before Thanksgiving week. The only thing we noticed that was added on Friday was the candy striping on the DCA "CALIFORNIA" lettering. I strongly recommend going the week before Thanksgiving if you can swing getting your kids out of school. Even if you miss a decoration or two it would be worth it for smaller crowds IMO.

Don't go on Veterans day. Made that mistake 2 years ago. It was unbearably crowded. During the week is better, but don't go on a holiday. We have gone Nov. for years now.. 15.... or more, and it used to be less crowded, but the secret is out, so It is usually busy now. But we still go
