November or December?

Hey everyone!

So we want to take our kiddos to Disneyland for their Christmastime festivities for a few days this year but are debating between going the week before Thanksgiving or the first week of December. I’ve looked at crowd calendars but with all of the new Star Wars stuff being open, I’m not sure how accurate they are. Any input on which way you would go? Thank you so much for your help!

Both will be crowded. I went the first week of December this past year and it was super crowded. But I imagine the week before Thanksgiving is crowded as well. I honestly think Disneyland no longer has any slow periods.

That’s what I was afraid of. Are there any Christmas things that aren’t going on before Thanksgiving or do they all start at the official Christmastime launch in November?

You are right to question the accuracy of the crowd calendars (Just a friendly reminder about crowd calendars). Since they base their predictions on past data, there is no way they can know how things will be once SWGE opens. As for your Nov. vs. Dec. dates, the famous DLR candy canes don't start being made until the day after Thanksgiving. If that matters to you, choose the Dec. dates. If you will be including the first full weekend in Dec., you will get to see Candlelight Processional at DL. You can see videos of CP on YouTube (make sure you're looking at DL, not WDW) to see if it would be a good fit for your family.

Thank you so much for the help! Do they do the Christmas fireworks and parade prior to Thanksgiving? And are the fireworks done on weeknights or just weekends?
