I don't care about holiday decorating...Halloween not at all, Christmas I can take...tho I can't stand Nightmare Before Xmas... anyway - is there a time in November that's sort of right in the middle?? Or is November filled w/ half up half down decor?

We're thinking November may be it, last time we went in January & it was SO empty & perfect!!! We'd like to duplicate that but prefer missing the holiday crowds - is this possible?

We went Nov.15th-18th. It was really nice crowd wise!! Short wait times, no difficulties getting on to our favorite rides, and could do just about anything we wanted. Plus the weather was warm!! :thumbsup2 I wouldn't say it was too crazy with people at all even for a weekend. The weekdays were awesome!! We hit it right before the "official" weekend that they unveiled all the holiday stuff. We still got to see all the holiday decorations that they had up. All the Christmas trees were decorated too so we didn't miss out on seeing any of that either. :cloud9: Just didn't get to see the castle with the holiday lights, small world with their holiday lights, and the holiday fireworks show. All in all it was a great trip and I would take another trip at that time a year in heartbeat!! :goodvibes

BTW we have done Disneyland in Jan. too. I would say it's not as empty as January, but it came pretty darn close. :thumbsup2 HTH

I've gone in the first week of November before. It's an in between time. There were no Halloween decorations up anymore and it was too early for Christmas decorations to be up. Nightmare Before Christmas stuff was still up, though.

We were there over Veterans Day weekend last year and it was busy. They were starting to put up the Christmas decorations and the Nightmare overlay was up on the Haunted Mansion. The weather was nice and mild - high 60s/low 70s but the crowds were big on Sunday and Monday!

nightmare stuff is up before Halloween an really the best time is after thanksgiving at least thats my say hehe

I have gone in early November and it was perfect. The Halloween decorations were just coming down, and the Christmas decorations were just going up. The weather was comfortable and there were hardly any crowds.

I have read on another site that there is a possibility that they may not do Nightmare Before Christmas this year. 09/09/09 is the Haunted Mansion special event celebrating the 40th anniversary. Anyone else heard rumors about this?

We'll be visiting DL from about 20 Novemerber till the 30th. :yay:

I've previously been in May, June, August and September - all pretty busy times. Will 20-30 Nov be as busy?

We're visiting from Australia so we're excited to be in the US during Thanksgiving - will DL do anything special for that?

The 27th is my DS's birthday (9 this year). Will it be extra busy that day as it is the day after TG and I believe things start to get busy then? Will all the Christmas decorations be up then?

Thanks!

Christmas decorations will be up by then. And yes, the whole Thanksgiving weekend will be busy and crowded. I'm not sure about the days before TG. They shouldn't be as crowded as that weekend though. I believe some of the hotel restaurants have a special Thanksgiving menu but I've never been so I don't have details on that. So just be prepared for crowds (use fastpass, and get lots of tips on these boards). Hope you have a wonderful time and have fun planning your trip! :goodvibes

When I was there in Nov. '07, I was there for Veteran's Day, and they were open an extra 4 hours to accommodate the crowds, but it wasn't really all that busy. I was expecting a lot more. With the economy being the way it is, crowds could be the same this year.
