November dates to consider

Every month has them - those dates you really need to consider before committing to a visit that month. What do I need to consider for November? I'd preferrably like to see the Christmas decorations and Christmas fireworks, but don't want to go after Thanksgiving. When does IASW holiday open? And HM with the Nightmare Before Christmas will still be up, right? Anything else to consider?

We were there Nov.16th-20th last year. All the Christmas decorations were up, IASW Holiday was up, and the Holiday version of Haunted Mansion was up (stays up through the holidays), we had Christmas Fireworks every night, Christmas parade a couple of days, and "snow" (my favorite :lovestruc) daily. It was a really great time to go.

How were the crowds???

I am considering a trip Nov. 11th through the 14th, but dont want to be too early for the decorations to be up and IASWH to be open. Went to Halloweentime last year and just loved it. Keep reading how Christmas time is even better, but with DD16 school schedule it is hard to work in a trip that isn't right in the thick of the Christmas holidays when things are crazy busy. I sure wish we would get some info on the holiday schedules.

Well, I thought they were great...as in low. I don't have a lot of recent experience to make comparisons, though. The last time I was there before my Nov. 2009 trip was in the summer of 1996! I went again in April 2010. I felt like the daytime crowds were lower in Nov. than they were in April. I felt like the nighttime crowds were higher in Nov. than they were in April. The hours in Nov. were shorter -- 10am - 8pm. The weather was better in November for us. 73-ish compared to 65-ish in April. Our longest wait in Nov. was for Toy Story, of course. 35-ish minutes. Most ride wait times were 10 or 15 minutes at the longest, but still a lot of walk-ons.

Oops...forgot to add a comment for you when I responded to pixleyyy. Last year the official holiday start time was Nov. 13th.
