Yay for being done with those ressies!!!! I am too!Currently on hold for Disney Dining ~ after one really long ring I got through ~ I've been holding for 17 minutes now!
Ok ~ I'm done *for now* we have Storyteller's on Thanksgiving day at 5pm *but now that DS is 10 and Disney considers him an adult *yes he does eat like one - he out eats me, but still it's a lot of $$$ so maybe our Turkey Day big meal will be at Mimi's *do they take reservations?? ETA ~ yes they do starting 10/1 you can make reservations for a Thanksgiving meal at the Harbor Blvd Mimi's* *we are staying at HoJo* we'd stop by for lunch on our way back for our afternoon nap, heck maybe we'll get it to go *Thanksgiving day will be an early one for us we'll use our MM - this will also be my 1st time driving to DLR *I'm not worried ~ I drove to Seattle a couple years ago and I've driven to the bottom of UT *I live near the top* twice this year* we'll leave Wed. after I have worked 6 hours! I plan to come in at 6am *I usually start my day at 9am - so we'll get to HoJo's late Wed. nite.
I also got BB @ 11:30 on Friday the 26th - and that's it for now - this needs to be a cheap trip. Maybe we'll do the WOC picnic - it worked out well for DD and I in July.
I'm excited about having a car ~ we can bring food with us/stop by a grocery store!
Oh boy! More lodging and dining reservations made! We will be at the Blue Bayou on the same day! We will be there at 12:30. Maybe we will run into each other! I popped over to your PTR and snuck a peek at your pic so maybe we will recognize you if we happen to cross paths! My old reports in my siggie are full of pics of our family if you care to do the same.We will be arriving at the DLR the morning of Nov 11th and leaving the evening of Nov 15th. Our room reservations are at the GCH. We have reservations for the Carnation Cafe on Thursday, Nov 11th at 5:10pm and also the Blue Bayou on Saturday, Nov 13th at 1:20pm.
I have started a PTR/TR, which can be found here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=38380940#post38380940
Let the countdown begin!![]()
YAY!!!! I bet you are feeling much better now! Gotta wonder why people are always changing up things. So am I! I have our confirmation now so I am breathing a sigh of relief. It is a bit different from our trip last year, though. Then, we had a voucher for each hopper that we could take right to the turnstile to exchange for the actual hopper. This time, we have one "confirmation" for all three hoppers that we have to take to a ticket window, but I'm expecting to do that sometime on Saturday since we don't hit the parks until Sunday. Wonder if that means we'll get a plastic hopper instead of a paper one...![]()
I very seldom ever find the "new and improved" anything to be much better. Anyway, guess it's all good as long as it gets you inside the park, right?Exactly! Those ressies are like sealing the final deal! 10 minutes? That was pretty good! Never been to Naples. Need to get there one of these days. I don't think I have enough room in my bags to pack something extra nice to wear though so we'll just have to stick with the run of the meal dining options for now. Hope you enjoy it!Making dining ressies always makes our trip seem real...just got off the phone with Disney Dining and made our PS for Naples on Nov 25 and RFC on Nov 26th. I hope the rest of the PS phone calls I have to make over the next week or so go a little better - I was in hold for about 10 minutes. Must be busy! Anyway....yay! It's getting closer!
Probably not a bad idea. We are booked at WCT at 6:00. Almost went with 6:20 but decided it would be better to have too much time on our hands than not enough. Good to know they will be going all out with the entertainment for the Thanksgiving guests!I changed our Ariel's Grotto/WOC dinner time from 6:40 to 5:40. I read that WOC line up starts at 7 and we needed time for potty runs, snack grabbing, and stroller parking.
I also found out that F! will be showing everynight, two showings, during Thanksgiving week.
If you don't want to do the meal the picnic might be a good compromise just to be sure you don't miss getting a fastpass.Do you think the week before Thanksgiving I'd need a ressie at one of the restaurants to see WOC???
I would imagine that any of the best choices of hotels probably stay sold out most of the time. Good opportunity to go ahead and upgrade to a Disney room!I just got off of the phone with in-house reservations with HOJO because I was looking to upgrade from our standard room to a Disney premium room but they said they were all sold out. Maybe them being sold out is an indication that it will be busy during Veterans Day weekend (my stay is Nov. 10-13). Now I'm thinking of changing hotels completely.

You still beat me on the reservation line but at least it's all done now. Somehow waiting on the Disney phone line is not nearly annoying as waiting on any other phone line! I wonder if they have phone line issues often or if it was because everyone was booking for Thanksgiving Day?I also called to make PS today for the Carnation Cafe and was on hold for over 25mins! The CM mentioned that they had issues with the phones earlier in the day and once the lines were back up it was chaos. I have always wanted to try Naples, but with 4 adults and 2 children who think they are adults it is difficult getting everyone to settle on one place. Maybe one of these days I will just book it and tell them tough noogies!
Every now and then I just go ahead and make the reservations and inform my bunch they will be going when the day gets there. They don't know it yet but they WILL be trying the Big Thunder Ranch BBQ place this trip. Tough noogies it is!!!
It's great to have some Disney traditions! We have a few of our own too. I never knew that was where the balloons came from! Another new Disney trip item learned today! We really like Naples and it has become our "first night tradition". We LOVE the balloon guys that come around and always make sure we have cash for a big tip for them.
Hard to say really with any certainty just how crowded crowded is going to be. Hojo's is just such a popular choice it probably stays pretty well full. Won't count on it but maybe we will get lucky and all the other hotels will be empty!Wow thats a bad sign lucky i booked 2 mths ago before they announced the Holiday dates...
now im worried we are spending both the Saturday and Sunday in the parks i dont mind the crowds but will have to be smart at the MM on the Saturday...
OOOOH! I am envious! You will have to do a report and let us know how amazing that buffet is. I would have gone with that one too but I figured my bunch would like something a little less "formal" so we will be going with an old favorite. Maybe someday....Yeah, I got through today and was able to make reservations for A Disney Family Thansgiving buffet in the grandballroom of the Disneyland Hotel. Also made A World of Color premium seating dinner package at Wine Country Trattoria on Saturday during my stay.
I read somewhere here that the Holiday Time at Disneyland tour was only on the weekends. Is this true?
I was hoping to also do this on Friday during my vacation. Anyone been during Thanksgiving weekend before and know if this is true? Thanks!

Looks like they finally decided to post enough to just about cover ALMOST everyone's trip in November! Time to get out the notes and add to them!I was just at the Disneyland site trying to find a schedule, I am trying to plan my days, I thought it was up there, but it doesn't appear to be. Any idea when it will be posted?

Your trip sounds wonderful! We just need more vacation time (and money) so we can do all the fabulous vacations we hear of!That's really good to know! We've never cruised before but ever since I was a little girl and didn't even know you could take a vacation cruise through the Panama Canal, I wanted to. I thought that only things like freight ships could go through it. Now I'm livin' the dream! And we're adding Disneyland before we leave because it's been 11 years since we were there last - took the kids and it was only Disneyland Park at that time. California Adventure was still under construction! I can't wait to get back there!

If we should ever decide to take a cruise I will sure know who to come to for advice!!!what cruise line are you doing this with? also have you found the cruise critic boards they are great for learning about your cruise and they also have roll calls for your different cruises. It is nice to get to know others who will be on your cruise. You can check out my pics of our panama canal cruise in my signature 03/22/2009 Carnival Pride cruise (Panama Canal). When you click on the link you have to look at the left hand side because I have folders in folders of the cruise.
I've read and reread that thread but I am still feeling very apprehensive about the WOC show! Gosh, I hope we get a great spot to watch... where everyone in our family can see! There is a WOC dinning thread on these boards. On it is a color picture with shaded colors indicating where the FP color sections are and prefered seating area. According to this board, you don't need to eat at AG or WCT to get a spot. You could pre order a picnic, it comes with a FS or wait in line for the FS kiosk 1st thing in the morning. Unless things of changed, if you walk up without any FS/ticket, you'll be directed to the back side of the pier and see the "other side" of WOC. I don't know any of this 1st hand, but I like the viewing area of the prefered seating. From what I understand, WOC is still a popular show and line up starts early. You may get lucky with a walk up AG/WOC dinner, during TG week I did't want to take any chances.
All the way up to the 26th now!It looks like the Disneyland November calendar has been updated through the 22nd. I am so excited!!!
Those mid day breaks are the only thing that keep us going some days! However, since DD is older this year I am hoping that she is up for pulling a few "all dayers" with me.... but it would still most likely have to be one of the 8:00 closing nights. I ain't as young as I used to be!!!FINALLY! Still waiting on the last day of our trip, but it looks like Disneyland is open until 12am for the first three days and I'm not expecting anything different for the last day. Last trip, we had only one day open until 12am and the other days had 9pm closings. This will make it easier to take a break mid-day when things will be most crowded.
Looks like it is going to be for quite some time too!If you haven't heard, it still is.![]()
Aaaah! Another one of those on the some day list!I made my Chef's Counter reservations for my Napa Rose birthday dinner today!![]()
How fun! A return trip! You will LOVE the holiday season. The drive down won't be bad.... it's the return trip that will really stink.I just booked the HOJO for 11/29-12-3.We took our first trip with the kids in May, and I can't stay away any longer - I really want to be there during the holiday season. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the 12 hour drive, hoping for great weather!

Right behind you! 39 days today!30 days!!!!
Looks good to see all those dates, doesn't it?They updated the calender again, it now goes to Thanksgiving day, including entertainment schedule![]()
An all girls trip has just got to be fun! This is going to be our first Thanksgiving Day in the park too! I can't wait! We'll be there for Thanksgiving this year!

Can't wait! it's a girls trip!

We've all been to Disneyland lots of times, but we haven't been together, since we we're teenagers!
Thanks for this website, it's the best around!

Making that 30 day mark is so exciting. Less than a month means it is going to fly by!It is 30 days until we leave here to start our vacation. A few more before we get to Disneyland. But still 30 days until I am out of here!!!!!!:

They are going to be in for a big surprise! Hope you love the PP!I decided to change my hotel from the HOJO to Paradise Pier. I'm planning on surprising everybody by driving to that PP instead of HOJO when we get off the freeway. It will be my first time (all of our first times) staying at a Disney resort.![]()
She's going to be so surprised! What a great surprise! I'm doing the same thing with the Kidlet - she still thinks we're staying at the CCI! Have fun!
Yippee for you! Good to finally get that done! No turning back now!Just booked our package yahoo!!!! Finally...................
Sounds like fun, fun, fun! Got you added to the list! We're going to San Diego 11/11-11/15 - staying at Paradise Point Resort
DLR 11/15-11/19 - staying at the Grand Californian
before we even get there!
The guys have a running list of the Disney movies we have to watch before the trip. Not sure we are going to get them all squeezed in since we are down to ONLY 39 days! Guess it's time to break out some Disneyland music to add to the mix. You sure you don't want to do like some of the rest of us and add a few days to your trip?Sorry is this has already been posted, but it was news to me. I called Disney Dining today and heard that they are now booking their Thanksgiving Family Feast at the Disneyland Hotel Grand Ballroom. Chip and Dale and other characters will be in attendance. Sounds like fun, wish we could be there a few days earlier!

You sure you don't want to do like some of the rest of us and add a few days to your trip?![]()

Finally, arrangements are made. We'll be there November 11th - 14th. That's me (grandma), DGD Jacquelyn, age 16, and DGS Isaiah, age 12. We've got ressies at GCH and Tropicana Inn. While we lovelovelove GCH, one night there is almost as expensive as 3 nights at Tropicana. I'll decide in time to cancel without penalty one way or the other but for now, this is how I feel![]()
You might want to check out the rates for the GCH at www.getawaytoday.com as that was the cheapest I found for my cousins for the same dates.
So..... what's a few more days?Actually, I did add on dates. But, they are to the end of the trip, not the beginning.![]()

Welcome! I know exactly what you mean! So far I have not been able to convince myself that staying in a Disney hotel is quite worth the additional expense. So many other ways to spend the extra money. On the other hand.... you still have time to find an amazing deal. Finally, arrangements are made. We'll be there November 11th - 14th. That's what we are all here for! Any more questions? Feel free to ask away. I am sure someone around here will come up with an answer. Thanks for the link, ACDSNY, I'll definitely check it out. These boards are great, everyone's so helpful with advice and insider hints. Thanks again.
Got you added to the list. You are right! There is lots of great advice on this board. At least we are much closer to November now so there is less time to change your plans too many times! I have found the earlier I start planning the more times I make changes. We're going 11-26 through the 29th of November. DH, DD (2.5) and me, plus my Mom and Dad, and possibly my Brother and SIL, and niece (1.5). Right now we're tentatively staying at the Red Lion. So much good advice on these boards that I keep rethinking the plans!
It was even worse when I had to plan for WDW. Thank heavens I got back to DL where planning is so much simpler!
So..... what's a few more days?![]()
