Anyone else booked a shore excursion?

We haven't yet. This is our first cruise ever. Is everything done through the cruise? Are there deals available or advantages for pre booking? Any recommendations for us with an almost 3 year old and 6 year old? (Sorry for the abundance of questions!)

The best way is to book thru the Disney Cruise web site. That way, if the excursion is late the ship will wait for you. And it is safer than going local and Disney continuously checks the tours to meet it's standards. Also, book as early as you can to get the tour you want. They do reach their capacity.
As for recommendations, when you look at a tour on the Disney website it will tell you how physical it is and age limits. Good luck and book soon.

It's official, just announced we will be celebrating Christmas on this cruise.

We sailed last year at Christmas & the decorations are great. The atrium tree is 3 decks tall!

Does anyone know if they will "make it snow" at Castaway Cay during our cruise and if Castaway Cay will be decorated for Christmas too? I heard they do both of those things during the Chrismas Season on the Disney Cruises. I was so exicted when I heard that we would be the 1st Fantasy Cruise of the Season to be decorated for Christmas. I hope they do all the fantastic seasonal activities they mentioned in the Cruiseline Blog - my daughters would be so happy to be able to build gingerbread houses and make Christmas Cards and get their photos taken with the characters in their Christmas outfits. I already feel we have been pixie-dusted for this cruise since finding out this great news. My twin sister is joining my family on this cruise and this is her 1st cruise so I am happy she will be able to see the beautiful Disney Fantasy looking even more amazing due to the Christmas decorations. Can't wait until the cruise

Pam, we built the gingerbread houses last Dec on the Dream. It is really fun. Your girls will love it. They give you everything to build it including candy & gum drops to decorate them with.

Hi Caryn! Nice to meet you too. This is our third Disney cruise. My daughter hasn't meet any other girls yet on the cruise. We are traveling with another family, but they are not on the disboards. They have a DD who is 12 and a DS who is 10. I am sure both of the girls would love to meet your daughter. That is exciting that she will be celebrating her birthday on the ship! My daughter, Molly, is really looking forward to spending time in the Edge this year, but we will definitely be discussing rules with her since she has never had this kind of freedom on the ship. She didn't like going to the Club and Lab last year with her 2 younger brothers. What are your plans with Hannah? Are you going to try to get approval for her for the Edge? Jenny

It seems as though it's a large group participating. Will we all be exchanging with everyone or will it be split up into smaller groups?

Hi Everyone!
Well, I have spent the last hour reading ALL the post since the beginning.
I just figured out about this board and I am super excited to get involved!!
This will be our second Disney Cruise and excited to get back to Florida.
We dummy booked this cruise on our Feb.2011 Disney Wonder Cruise to Mexico. We wanted to wait until DD was 3 before cruising again (she was 7mths old on the Wonder).
We are DVC members and staying 3 nights at Animal Kingdom before the cruise. (AK is our home property )Never been to Disney World so this should be interesting.
Just to put the Disney Stats out there:
Spent a week at Aulani last Nov. in a 2 bedroom OV.. LOVED IT.. Can't wait to go back
Been to DL to many times to count (our DS (6) has been 5 times last being in 4/13 for Spring break)
We live 20mins east of Seattle, so right now I get to see the Wonder in port all summer
I would LOVE LOVE to be part of the FE!!

Leanne, Welcome. I will be glad to add y'all to our FE List. Will post a new list soon. You'll love Walt Disney World and AK Lodge. Did you get a Savannah View? They are great. We did the Wonder Hawaii cruise but didn't get to Aulani because of the Pearl Harbor VIP tour we were on. Hopefully we'll get there in a few more years.

We just signed up for this cruise and are VERY excited!! We had to change from an Oct cruise and got very excited when I say that this cruise will be the first one celebrating the holidays!! YEAH!
