November 3, 2012 - Election Escape Eastern!!

We generally buy TravelEx

There were still tons of spots open when I booked last night. I picked the day I wanted and there were seatings all night (every 10 or 15 minutes) through the whole night. It actually looked like no one had booked yet.

Fingers crossed! We are silver so we can't book a thing until Aug 5th... :scared:

I've updated the roll call with the names of our new shipmates. Welcome to each of you! If you'd like more information added about your family, just let me know who will be joining you, what stateroom you have and such, and I will get that done as soon as I can.

Hi,
This question is for the lucky cruisers who have been able to book excursions and reservations for our cruise...
Were you able to see which night was Pirate night? If so, are there openings left on BBB on pirate night?
Thanks....

Here's what concierge told me when I asked -

Currently the attire or themed evenings are Formal night on night two, Pirate night on night four, and Semi-Formal night on night six

I have my daughter scheduled for BBB on Pirate Night (while we're docked at St. Thomas/St. John).

Definitly in need of sunshine. It´s now over 4 weeks of constant bad weather and temperatures in the mid 60s.Not nice. And it looks like it will last atleast untill August.:faint:
But I didn´t know Australia has it to,but for you it´s Winter isn´t it?Over here it´s called "Summer".

My DH and I can't take the waiting....we're going to head down to the port on Saturday for our Fantasy fix. We stand on the shore and wave to the lucky people on the ship...headed for a great time... You would think seeing the ship would make you more antsy...but, for us, it's a warm feeling just to see it. *sigh*...but it sure would be nice to be on it....

So that makes formal night on sunday night. It usually was monday night on our other 7day as that was a sea day after Kew West.

Thanks

Yeah, the theme nights of the Eastern are on different nights from the Western.
Typically, the first night is cruise casual, Formal night is the first sea day, semi-formal the last sea day. Pirate night is one port day and cruise casual the other. The last night (Castaway Cay day) is usually cruise casual as well as most people are trying to get their luggage ready for the 10:30 PM pick up. Especially hard if you have second seating!
Sadly, the Fantasy won't be pulling into Key West on the Western. It is one of our FAVORITE ports! :(

Hello everyone! I don't know if anyone has visited the website recently, but DCL has officially added the Bacardi Distillery tour. I was very surprised not to see it included when the excursions were first released, but it is being offered directly with DCL. They have also added Castillo San Cristobal and Isla Verde escape, which is a beach. Although it is nice to have a guide talking about the local history, San Cristobal is extremely overpriced with DCL. I knew it would be more because their is a guide, but it only costs $3.00 to get in and if you book with DCL its $49. If anyone is thinking about doing "El Morro" and San Cristobal it a whopping $5.00 Just thought I would post in case no one had noticed that they added more excursions. I posted on FB too. I guess it really comes down to preference. For those who have never been there I guess the added expense might be worth it to have someone discuss the history and I believe they will be in costume representing the time period. The distillery tour is $31 for adults, $25 for children. Although one can take the ferry from San Juan to Cataño (where the distillery is) which takes about 10 minutes and costs $2-$3pp once on the other side of the bay you would have to take a taxi or walk a lot to get to the Bacardi, so I think that the price is more reasonable. It also includes free rum testing for guests 21 and older at the end of the tour.

I just want to be on board already. When I close my eyes we have already set sail....... :wizard:

Hey!! How is everyone???

Has anyone done their shirts yet? I have mine here, but I've not had time to get them done.

Good luck!! I hope everyone gets what they need/want.

I booked an extra cabin for DD and friends who's friends are now not comming. It looks like DCL wont let me move her into my cabin as they have a limit of 3 in those staterooms. So I can't cancel her state room. Ironicaly it is actually cheaper to keep the 2nd stateroom due to the early booking onboard credit!
I guess we can put DS and DD in the second stateroom and have one for ourselves! DW's only concern is they are next to each other but not adjoining.
:confused3
