Hello Fellow Cruisers!

See Post #70 for FE Information!!!! Silly Little Pixie is organizing this fun event!!!!

We have booked this cruise and will be joined by DS, DDIL, DD, DSIL, and 4 precious grandchildren. Also, DH is going too.

Jan

Yay!! We have booked this cruise too. It's our "freebie" cruise for buying DVC. We can't wait to return to the Wonder. We're cat 9 guarantee obviously. We will be myself, DH, DD13 and DS10. This will be our 3rd DCL cruise!

Christine

Hi Christine! Welcome!!!

We're using DVC points for this cruise; used points for DH and me, DS, DD-i-l, and 4 grandkids. We have two secret porthole staterooms. Another DD and DS-i-l have a sideways cabin across from us. AND, DH, Dave, and I decided to use up more points by booking the 3 day before this one. We were fortunate to be able to stay in the same stateroom.

I am cruising this Saturday on the Magic. It'll be our 25th anniversary next week. This upcoming cruise is #12 on DCL. I've never cruised any other cruise line!

Glad you are joining us. By the way, our grandkids will be 8, 6, 5, and 4.

Jan

Congratulations on the 25th anniversary!! Enjoy your Magic cruise. I think it's awesome to have enough points to cruise on so often!! That's terrific. We had a SPH room on the Wonder and another on our upcoming Magic cruise. Can't beat that value!

What are your tips for enjoying the Wonder again after being spoiled by 7 days on the Magic?

Christine

Hi Christine:

Our Magic cruise was wonderful, as usual! We don't have a lot of DVC points, but we try to be creative with them. Right now I have no DVC points to use or borrow. We booked another cruise on the Wonder in 2011 but will use cash.

Tips for enjoying the Wonder after being on the Magic .... book another cruise onboard so that when you depart after 3 days, you know you're coming back soon!

Jan

I'm counting on being on the cruise :goodvibes...DH, DS, BFF, and I are all going on the Backstage Magic ABD trip in June and get a free cruise as an incentive. We won't be able to book until a few weeks before the ABD trip when our voucher arrives, but based on availability for the same trip this year, we're not too worried.

The plan is to head down to WDW on November 18, spend a few days at the parks, head to the cruise to relax a bit, and then spend a few more days at the park when we get back. Should be just about a perfect vacation!

We'll be on this cruise. DH, DD (10 at the time of the cruise) and myself. I just set up my own DISBoards acct after using DH's (aliron) so I have to get some posts in.

We were on this same cruise this year and liked it so much we signed up again. Though thankfully we'll get a few days in Orlando afterwards.

We participated in the Fish Extender so hopefully there will be some on this meet thread who want to do it for this cruise.

Looking forward to sailing with you all.

I am joining the group. This trip will be me, Michelle who will be turning 42 in November :ssst:, Jay my 16yr old Son and Ally my 13 yr old daughter.

Sillylittlepixie and I are friends and just found out we are planning the same Disney and Cruise trip. She was also my Son's kindergarten teacher (he is going to be a senior this year :scared1:) and our 13 yr old daughter's were in Girl Scouts together. Our World can be so small sometimes. :grouphug:

I have not booked the trip yet but it is just a matter of waiting on my W2 and filing the taxes and getting back a very nice refund. Everything is inputted and ready to go but I don't want to jump the gun and then have to do an amended return.

I already have flights booked for free using frequent flyer miles and just got confirmation on 5 nights at the BWV renting points. I am going to book a Cat 9 Oceanview. We did a Cat 7 obstructed view last trip in 2007 but I can't justify added the cost this time. It was very nice but I didn't spend too much time out there like I thought I would.

Hello AStamm, Aliron682 and Jayally and families!

Looking forward to our November cruise. The 4 grandkids who are going with us are already excited and planning what they're going to do. 2 of them have been on the Wonder before. This granny is looking forward to boarding the Wonder on 11/18/10 and then greeting my family when they board on the 21st.

I'm also cruising on the Magic on 10/23/10. My DD's m-i-l and I cruised last year and we were booked on the 1/30/10 Magic, but she has health issues that, hopefully, will be resolved by May of this year. The timing isn't the best - 2 cruises within a month, but I'll sacrifice!

I can create a spreadsheet with all our names and other info, if anyone is interested.

Welcome everyone! :hippie:

My kids are pretty excited for this cruise. DH and I are going back on the Magic in March! Woohoo! We booked a cat 12 for that cruise. On this one we are cat 9 gty. I am just happy to get an oceanview.
Like Michelle, we'll be headed to WDW the week pre-cruise. We're going to stay at AKV. We're going to do a day at Universal as well- never been there.

So what are everyone's plans pre or post cruise?

since this looks like a very knowledgable group perhaps someone has the answer to my question.

I am considering booking a cruise on the Disney Dream. How much do you need to put down when booking on board and what is the incentive or discount? They have dates available now for Nov 2011 but I don't want to be paying on 2 cruises! I wish I would have done this on our last trip but I didn't have the money so I want to be prepared this time.

Thanks

I have rebooked twice onboard. Both times we were given half price deposits (not sure that is always the case) and 10% off the cruise fare (not including port fees and taxes). You also get a nice OBC- $100 for inside/OV rooms, $200 for verandahs. I can price it for you while I'm on the Magic if you want.

But back to the deposit question- it depends on the length of cruise as well, I think.

The current incentives from when I was on Nov 20, 2009 are...

10% off base price for each passenger and then add on taxes and port fees so you may get 7-8% off.:thumbsup2

OBC will be $100 for 3-4 night cruise and $200 for 7 night or longer cruises. Med and Baltic have a different OBC I believe.
In 2011, that will change to the tiered OBC based on castaway club status.:thumbsup2

And then increase your OBC by transfering your ressie to a TA at DU for additinonal savings. :cool1:

1/2 deposits required for booking. Deposits wil vary based on length and type of cruise. :woohoo:

You are able to book as many cabins as you have current passengers on the ship.:yay:

YMMV but that is what I got.

We will just get to the Port on Saturday so nothing pre-cruise, but this year (unlike last) we will get the days after to cruise to spend @ WDW. We already have our "Give a Day/Get a Disney Day" ticket for one day at the Magic Kingdom (probably Thanksgiving Day) and then not sure what we'll do Wed after getting off the boat and Friday. We will probably have to head home on Saturday unless we get cheap flights.

We are so looking forward to this cruise!

I can create a spreadsheet with all our names and other info, if anyone is interested.

Please include us on the spreadsheet.
Ron - Dad
Alison - Mom
Laurin - Princess (Age 10)

Looking forward to Fish Extender and meeting up with you all.

Thanks for coordinating Jan

Joining this thread at Silly Little Pixie's recommendation. We'll be me (Kristina), DH (Jeff), DS 13 (Shaner) and DS 10 (Skyler).

I won't be on too much until after our first trip to our new VGC home 2/14-21 - that trip is occupying all my brain-space right now! Our cruise is also from our incentives for adding on at VGC. After our DL trip, I'm sure it will only be a little while until I start obsessing about our next Disney trip - the cruise!

Silly Little Pixie - I am so jealous of your Magic DCL!!

This will be our second DCL Wonder cruise. We went 2/2009 with my DSis and family and had a great time, so the incentive was a no-brainer. This time, we plan to spend more time on the boat exploring. The kids have the whole club thing down, so DH and I should be more free to hang out by ourselves!

We won't arrive in FL until the night before the cruise, but are thinking of staying at VB until Monday or Tuesday of the next week (after the crazy travel times die down).

See you all in November!!

Hi everyone!

Looks like we will be joining you also. This is a cruise for DD (12 at sail time) and her friend, also 12 who has never cruised before. They are earning the money to pay for most of their fare. :thumbsup2

JanDave, we were nearly on the same Sept. sailing last year, until we got a great rate last minute on our spring break dates and switched. That September group was a nice group. :)

Hi Alison and Ron! Glad to see we will be sailing together again! I just have DD and friend this time, we are leaving all the boys at home.

I had to do this one as cheaply as possible so booked an inside room, which I am a little nervous about. I like my natural light! Might try for an upgrade at the port, but can't justify the $300-$400 dollars extra for one on a 3-day. Especially since we will have recently gotten off a very expensive family cruise on the Oasis of the Seas. Yes, we're straying from DCL , but my kids are preteen/teen and really want to try it. We have the Disney Dream to look forward to T'giving 2011. :)

Would love to be included on any list and/or FE exchange.

:offtopic: I hope you will all forgive me for this but...

:jumping3::bounce::Pinkbounc::rainbow: It's my 1,000th post! :rainbow::bounce::jumping3::Pinkbounc

:worship: I don't think I will ever have that many posts.

Last trip my daughter made a fish extender and she was so proud of it but the group we joined was not very active and nothing ever happened with it. Is this group interested in doing a gift exchange?
