November 2013 Pin Code Watch

I just talked to someone at Disney and she said that free dining isn't normally offered in November:confused3:confused3 According the the previous post....it's pretty common:confused: Maybe they can't tell right now..I don't know but it's pretty disheartening..

FD has been offered every year in November for awhile, the CM is incorrect. I'm crossing my fingers for it this time. We're doing our trip regardless, but it would be awesome to pocket that money instead. :)

We are booked 11/08/13-11/16/13 at Port Orleans Riverside. I am hoping to get free dining, but not optimistic because it wasn't offered to the general public for Spring. DH is doing the Wine and Dine 1/2 and this will be my youngest daughters first trip to WDW!

I too am not feeling optimistic about free dining. I am quite sure there will be some kind of discount offrered though. I certainly don't know free dining won't be the discount, but have a feeling it will go back to the original dates only this year which is late Aug- early Oct. Only time will tell.

They have had free dining in November for four years. If I remember correctly, the first year (2008) was only Disney Visa members. The past three years were offered to Visa cardholders first then general public. Last years dates were more restrictive. This year may be the same, but I hope they offer it!

My concern is the fact that the discounts this year have not come close to what they have offered in the past. People have said for years that they were eliminating free dining. I never worried then, because it was all talk. Now there is actual data to back up the fact that maybe they truly are cutting back. That is why I am preparing myself for a lesser discount but still 100% hoping for free dining. pixiedust:

You know what kills me? I have been hearing (on Mousesavers and AllEars) that it is quite likely that Disney will be raising ticket prices this year in April instead of August like they usually do. So this means that even if we book our package ahead of the increase, if and when a discount comes out and we call to have it applied, the increase in ticket price will also be added on.

I thought of that too. Maybe it is their way of getting a little bit of that free dining money back.

Well, just to add my two cents: their first quarter numbers were not what was projected. Even with the new Fantasyland. I think this bodes well for us.

And as for ticket increases in April...that sucks! It is very expensive to go (that's why we go every other year) and Disney is driving people away with moves like that.

Now that really stinks! I didn't realize getting a discount later on would change the res. in that way.
I wonder what the price increase will be, per ticket for a 5 day park hopper.

We're hoping for a November discount! We're still running the numbers and deciding if we want to take our 1 year old....free dining would make the decision easier!

Yay! I just made ressie for Nov 15 to 20th for dh and I 30th anniversary trip. And dh's work is giving him a "bonus" of $200 for whatever we want, so we're using that for the deposit on the trip. Yay! If, rather when, free dining comes out, can I just add it to my ressie or do I have to transfer my deposit?

If you book a package, they will just add the FD to your package. If you book room only, they will refund your $200 and book you a package deal (with the FD).

I'm really hoping for something to come out soon. I know that's probably wishful thinking since we are only in Feb. I'd like to see a 35-40% code like we used to see a few years ago.

Me too!!

We submitted two requests for DVC rentals and both sites are currently out of points. Needless to say, it's made me a little nervous because our whole family is joining us this year. I'm not necessarily expecting a code to totally cover the savings we could get by renting but now my concern is the timing of a new code and availability. I know it's only February so I guess I shouldn't really be that worried.

We just booked our next stay last night! Nov 6-12th staying at POR in a Royal Room for my god-daughters first trip!!! We are beyond excited. It is just me, my best friend and her 7 year old daughter. I booked the package, but left out the dining plan for now until free dining starts to be released for fall. (HOPEFUL!!!!) If we are unable to get FD, I think I will still add the dining plan onto our ressie because I really want to make this trip special for my god-daughter with character meals. princess:

Quick question. We're currently have ASMU booked with 1 day passes (me and dh). If we decide to move up to moderate do we have to pay the difference for a deposit when we change the ressie?

No. The $200 deposit is for a package deal and that seems like what you already reserved. The deposit will transfer if you decide to change resorts (which many of us have done over the years. ;))
