November 2012 Code Watch!!

I'll post this question on the other thread too, not sure if we're all over there yet...

I think I KNOW the answer to this, but I think it'll ease my mind if I heard the answer from other people. ;)

I was already set on POR for our dates (11/3-11/8), then the more I saw AS Sports I realized DS's would LOVE that. So now I'm (and my wallet) leaning towards AS Sports. HOWEVER, if free dining comes out for my dates, I would FOR SURE want the regular dining plan, not just the quick service that comes w/the All Stars.

So my question is....if I book for All Stars Sports now, and Free Dining comes out later...I can change my reservation to POR then, right?? OR, can I just pay the difference between QSP and the Regular dining plan and still stay at All Stars??

TIA!!
You can change OR just pay the upgrade fee:)

Calling to make room ressies today! :woohoo:
If I'm hoping for FD, I should book the whole package so I can apply the code later right? (Without having to re-book)

So touringplans & easywdw have conflicting recomended park days on their crowd calender......which one should I go with:confused3:confused3:confused3

I used to use TP but have followed easywdw recommendations the last couple of trips and am sold. If you follow his blog, he is over there all the time checking his recommendations and does a detailed analysis for every single day, based on all the different factors and things going on that day, so you can see his logic if you want. I think TP has some good data that gives a valid picture of general trends, but don't dig down to all the little factors that can have big effects like Josh does. JMO!

Can you use an appetizers for quick service? or just sit down I am thinking of doing ddp I have 3 codes 20% off hotel and 10 % and free quick dining but they all exclude the new hotel which is where I want to stay :(
We always do character meals and sit down so I am thinking the ddp is good for me.
I am leaning towards the dining plus is it too less of food has anyone still have to pay out of pocket. I also would love to do Mickeys Backyard BBQ not sure if they have it in November

How many days are you going? I think you will be there 7 nights like I will be. Thats 21 credits, you could do some on your arrival/departure day. And the rest scattered throughout your vaca. This will be our first time using it and I am looking forward to it:)

You are correct. We will be there 7 nights.
The cost just scared me at first.

Hoping for free dining

So.. question about Dining Plan... last time we were there, we changed our left over meal credits for snacks to bring home with us. I had heard they were no longer allowing this. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

Hi everyone! I need some opinions! We are doing deluxe dining again this time and I just want to run my list of hopeful ADRs by you guys and see if I have them in a good order to request when it is finally my ADR day! Our dates are November 11-16 and here is the order I am thinking:

1. CRT (11/12 6:30pm)
2. Chef Mickey's (11/16 10:00am)
3. Crystal Palace (11/12 8:00am)
4. Akershus (11/13 8:30am)
5. Ohana (11/15 9:30am)
6.Garden Grill (11/13 6:30pm)
7. Tusker House (11/11 12:45pm)
8. Hollywood & Vine (11/14 12:30pm)
9. Cape May Cafe (11/14 8:00pm)
10. Chefs de France (11/13 1:00pm)
11. Whispering Canyon (11/11 7:30pm)
12. Liberty Tree (11/12 12:30pm)
13. Captains Grill (11/15 5:00pm)

Thanks everyone!!!

I think O'hana and Tusker House fill up quickly so I would consider moving them closer to the top, but it really depends on what is most important to your family.

I have been researching about "Belle" dressed in her Christmas dress. Has anyone seen her this way, I know I did when I was young my sisters and I. I am getting my little girl the belle christmas dress and would love to take a photo with her, Since I already have tickets, I am not sure If I will go to the MVMCP, I did research she always dressed there, but is she also dressed at Epcot at the story book princesses? I am getting obsessed with Disney again as soon as I start planning :rotfl2:

Welcome! Belle is in her Christmas dress at the the MVMCP, but not a Akershus in Epcot. She was in her regular yellow dress at Akershus.

Personally, I would move Ohana right under CRT and Tusker house under that. Everything else should be fine. I have to decide on times and then I can order mine. I will have plenty of down time to do them after my surgery end of may. Your ADR window comes up before mine though. :cloud9:

WAIT! Did I miss something? What surgery are you having? I hope this will give you some reliefl.

So touringplans & easywdw have conflicting recomended park days on their crowd calender......which one should I go with:confused3:confused3:confused3

TP goes just by the expected wait time for attractions and doesn't really take a lot of other stuff into account. I would suggest reading over Josh's detailed information and make your decision based on a combination of both.

I have always gone w/ touringplans as well. There are two days in question. One calendar marks it as a best park while the other list it as a park to avoid..... I'm so :confused3

same comment as above... ;)

Those of you that do the Deluxe Dining Plan..... Please give me the good and the bad of it. We always just do the regular plan. 1 TS, 1 QS a day. But it seems that most days we end up back at the WL eating supper at the Whispering Canyon. And this meal is out of pocket. So I decided to look into the Deluxe Dining (Didn't think I would ever do it.)
Is 3 meals a day to much? I wish they had a plan that offered 2 TS meals a day. That would fit us perfectly. Decisions, decisions.

It is a lot of food, but we did some signature restaurants. We did TS for breakfast and TS for dinner. For lunch we just grabbed something at CS or snacks.

So my question is....if I book for All Stars Sports now, and Free Dining comes out later...I can change my reservation to POR then, right?? OR, can I just pay the difference between QSP and the Regular dining plan and still stay at All Stars?? TIA!!

Yes, you can upgrade to the regular DP and stay at All Stars, or you can change to POR - if they have availability. :goodvibes

:thumbsup2

Is she only found at MVMCP? I am not sure if I will be doing that do you have to buy tickets in advanced or day of

I've never heard of her being anywhere else in her Christmas dress. It's best to buy in advance in case they sell out, but most of the parties don't sell out until much closer to the party date, and some don't sell out even then. You might want to ask this on a general park board to see if someone has more information. :goodvibes

I bet the crowd you have going, free dining would save you a boat load of $$$.

Yea for my room alone(DH, me DD4 and DD8 itll be $929  I think dads is about the same amount. Crazy isnt it? :crazy2:

no you cant exchange credits anymore
Thats what I suggested, moving Ohana and TH up the list
Well my surgical procedure lol:rotfl2: Still painful. My bladder hydrodistention. Yea I know TMI :lmao: :rotfl2: sorry :guilty: But I will be down and out for about 4 days. Hopefully mom will help with the baby and :laundy:

Speaking of order of reservations... would this list seem appropriate?

Tea Lounge (ANY - I have never seen one available so I'm guessing they are snagged before you can reserve if you aren't 180+10?)
CP (Before park opening - 8am)
Victoria & Alberts (6pm)
Rose & Crown (7:30pm - Illuminations!)
Sci-Fi Dine In (1pm lunch)
Sanaa (1pm lunch)
Kona Cafe (8am breakfast)
Boma (8am breakfast)

I know nothing about the tea lounge but looks good!

We will be ariving on 11/11. Is the MVSCP really worth it? How late will the park be open on party nights?

I think its worth it to see it once. If you love Christmas time, its nice. I love when it snows on main street. The parade and fireworks are nice too. :yay:

I feel like my brain is fried. I finally had to walk away from my Disney Binder. The only things I have in place are where we will be on each day and most of the resturants I want to try and get reservations for. Oh yea, and which night we will attend MVMCP on.

I hope the TP crowd calendar holds true. The #'s look good for this trip. :thumbsup2

Still deciding on if we will actually go for the Deluxe dining plan. And what if any tours we will take. (I want to take them all. :rotfl:) I think the fireworks cruise is going to be a must do along with a carriage ride.

So I had a call for daycare today. Its an infant. 6wks. The hours are 6am-8pm as the mother is a nurse. I feel really bad because I set up the interview then backed out a few minutes ago. I think the hours are just too long for me. Especially with me getting tired so easily with having IC. The extra money would have been nice to add to the Disney fund BUT I cant feel bad. I dont wanna sacrifice my health for more Disney money. If I do that, i wont make it to Disney even if I could afford too! LOL

Wow those are long hours with an infant. You have to think about how this would impact your health.

I never thought to bring a pop up hamper! What a great ! I'll have to add that to the list of what to bring. Thanks :thumbsup2

Your welcome! that was one of the best tips I ever got!! I got my hamper at Target, about 4 or 5 years ago, it fits flat in luggage and we stick it in the bthrm first thing!! It is SUCH a big help!! This last trip I got a $5 power strip at Wal Mart and brought it,,that was wonderful too!

OHHH I wanna do the carriage ride too! I JUST had the perfect idea! The carraige ride is at FW right? We will be at WL having dinner our first night. Can you get to FW from WL? It may be something worth doing AFTER our bday celebration dinner at WCC! :dance3: we would need 2 carriages for 11 ppl LOL :rotfl2:

I wanna try the dxdp atleast once. If we dont like it, we wont do it again! I was rethinking the reg dining plan. The trouble with that is I wanna do breakfasts(we love Tusker House and wanna try CP) I dont think I wanna pay OOP for them. We have to have a sit down dinner each night. Its a must on vaca. I cant cut anything out. They all look to good! :rolleyes1 I think there is no choice left..... we HAVE to do the dxdp :rotfl2: :lmao:

I agree with mommyof3. It is worth it to see it once. And once maybe all you need. Or you may become like me and just have to go everytime you are there during the holidays. :rotfl2: I know for hubby and I, we have gotten caught up in the nostalga of it.
