Hi, all. Nice to meet ya.

Subscribing to this thread. Got a "Game On" PIN in the snail mail the other day (30% off) and just booked for 11/26 - 12/1. Now I get to plan, plan, and plan some more -- for 11 months! ... And loving every minute of it! :goodvibes

We are going November 6-10th..if we get a good pin code will be staying at Boardwalk if not then probably a value........either way we are excited this was an unexpected surprise:woohoo:

They moved the Wine and Dine half marathon to the last weekend of Food and Wine- November 9-11th weekend. The half is probably that Saturday the 10th at night if it is like this year. It used to be during the first weekend of F&W, but they added a Tower of Terror 10 mile race that first weekend instead and bumped the Wine and Dine half. :goodvibes

That weekend of the 9-11th is also the Festival of the Masters at Downtown Disney. I think it is also the end of Jersey Week. The 11th is Veterans Day.

ok shouldn't affect me then i was think'n going the 13th or 14th

now as far as free dining goes if they offer it, you just have to book your stay starting on the dates for free dining, is that correct? and you still get free dining the entire length of your stay?

We will be going from November 15 - 25. Our hope is to hit Universal for 2 days, LegoLand for 1 and Disney as much as possibly can, even to the point of making ADRs in Epcot after Universal.

I booked at POFQ w/PH tickets. I am hoping free dining will come out. If not, I may downgrade to POP so the meal plan isn't such a drag on the budget.

I keep hoping a pin will come my way, but 3 trips in 3 years and I still haven't ever gotten one. Oh well, maybe I will win one of the 60 free trips. I text in every day.

we will drive down the friday after thanksgiving, get settled into the resort, then probably spend sat. going to the disney outlets. start our park days on sun/mon. we can managed, we just got back the week after christmas and i've never seen so many people in 28 trips!!!! after that week, we are going to zip thru any other week. it goes to show that with any crowd level you can manage the parks by getting there early and fp!!! we did it with 32 people!!!!

:welcome: WOW!:scared1: You are braver than I to go to Disney the week after Christmas. If you can do that, you can do any week:thumbsup2 Ill add you to the list!

We will be staying at POR :) I love it there!!! We stayed there for the first time last month and fell in love with it! :cloud9:

Hey everybody!

I have officially changed my reservation. We will now be at the Dolphin from the 20th to the 25th, and we'll be moving to POR from the 25th to the 30th. I'm very excited to stay there - We ate at Boatwrights the year we stayed at POFQ, and I really liked the feel of Riverside.

I booked a preferred room because my husband HATES a long walk back to the room at the end of the day. Can anyone who's stayed at Riverside before tell me about the walk from the bus stop? I did make sure to request a first floor room, because we still roll with a stroller!

There are actually 4 bus stops North Depot, East Depot, South Depot and West Depot. We were in the Oak manor building in the front. It was about a 4 min walk to both the South depot and the East (I think) not bad at all (I think) we stayed at the Poly before POR and the walk there was longer! On this map you can see the depots...HTH! http://portorleans.org/maps-and-directions.php

we will be there at the same time :goodvibes:

I didnt get a PIN code but i do know that FD is usually blacked out Jersey week

Ughhh that figures! :rotfl: I wouldn't normally consider going during Jersey Week, but IF we go in November, I wanted to catch the last couple days of the Food and Wine festival and be there late enough in November to see the Christmas decorations! We did that in 2010 and it worked out perfect, we were there from 11/13-11/20, and I believe 11/13 was the last day of Jersey week (I could be wrong though, it was a long time ago!) and we got Free Dining that year.

I'd settle for a nice room discount if no free dining, though! :thumbsup2

Hey everyone!! I see everyone is busy planning. I'll start next week, but first I have to get through tomorrow. I'm having my hysterectomy. I'm starting to get a little nervous, but I'm sure it will be ok. I'll see y'all in a few days!!

Best wishes and good luck with your surgery. I know you'll do great and I'll keep you in my prayers. Wishing you a speedy, easy recovery, too. Post when you can to let us know how you're doing.

Good luck!! I had one a few years ago at age 33 and it was one of the best things I have ever done. So thankful my doctor looked at me one day and said, "when are you going to be tired of living like this". He was right and it has changed my life for the better!!! I had the Davinci surgery, kept my ovaries (hope they don't give me any problems) and was back to work in a week!!!

I could be wrong though but I remember an early date (like the 3rd) that was the last day of FD til the sunday after Jersey week but Veterans day impacts it more. It was on a Friday last year and this year its a monday. I read somewhere that FD isnt offered over a Holiday, its offered either before or after. There is still a chance!! :thumbsup2

Oh yeah, we've been at POR three times (and FW lodge and Poly once each), and loved them all too! Love that we can walk back and forth between POR and POFQ. Ya still can't beat the POR food court -- what a great selection there. We tried the POFQ last time because they had the renovated rooms, queen beds, and I heard the single bus stop was nice. And it was. But we still like Riverside too! :thumbsup2

Yeah- we love POR too- our favorite mod. We always rented a car, so can't speak to the bus stops, but I believe we usually requested AB 14 or 15, close to the food courts. We love those locations and always first floor. The Dolphin is really nice too- comfy beds!

The Jersey teacher conference is November 8-9th this year, , so Jersey week is actually really the week of November 5th this year, since the 8th-9th is a Thursday/Friday of that week. The last day of Food and Wine is November 11th. So really if you arrive on the 9th or 10th, you will still be able to hit the last weekend of Food & Wine and then avoid Jersey week, since they will all probably leave by the 11th. You'd have all of the weekdays of the 12th-16th to enjoy the parks with low crowds, plus the first MVMCPs start, so the Christmas decor is up in MK by then too. Not sure it will be up in the resorts just yet, but probably getting close. I think they are saying the first MVMCP will be probably on November 7th (wednesday of Jersey week). WE plan to try and do it that following Tuesday, 11/13th probably. WE booked our trip for November 8-17th- so that we could see the last weekend of F&W and also do MVMCP and Osborne lights.

We plan to arrive probably Thursday night, 11/8 late, stay at POP one night. Check in BLT 11/9 (already booked), hit F&W festival that am (Friday) and DHS that night probably. On Saturday, 11/10, it is going to be packed everywhere, with the last of Jersey week clearing out and Veterans Day weekend, Wine and Dine half marathon at Epcot that night and Festival of the Masters at DTD. So we will probably do a tour at MK (Family Magic Tour) in the am, then swim and resort hop the rest of the day, or maybe even hit a waterpark if weather permitting. Sunday, 11/11, we plan to hit F&W in the am, knowing it will be crowded probably, but we get there at RD to do a few FW things, then we hit the booths right at 10:45am and leave by 2pm. Monday- Friday will be really light crowds according to TP, so we should be fine the rest of the week to do what we want, including MVMCP and the lights!
