Hey ya'll. :goodvibes Sorry for my long absence.....Ya'll did notice didn't you? :rotfl2:

Anyway......We have had a big decision to make about the upcoming short trip. We have cancelled it. :sad1: But, its a good thing.:) Hubby and I shoot. (Not at each other. :lmao:) And I really, really love it. I have been thinking about getting some one on one with an instructor and getting ready for some competitions. The big part of this was needing a different hand gun. Well, I bit the bullet today and ordered it along with the customizing that I want done to it. :woohoo::banana::yay: So we won't be going this Nov. But we still have the big trip for Nov 2012 to look forward to. So..... in between thinking about guns and shooting I'm back to planning for next year. :thumbsup2 So, its all good. :goodvibes

Of course we noticed!;) Im sorry to hear that you cancelled :sad2: BUT I am glad that its for a good reason :cloud9: Yes we still have Nov to look forward to!

I am on a mission now :scratchin I will be reporting about this years MVMCP to you  YAY!

LOL, I somehow knew that I found kindred spirits here!

I met DH when I was 19 (married when I was 20 and he was 26). I had gone to college for 2 years for elementary education and decided right about the time I met him that I didn't want to do that anymore (in reality, I know now, I was just chickening out about the student teaching that was soon to come). Was going to go for x-ray tech instead, but DH talked me out of THAT (and to this day cannot tell me why, but he now regrets that as well). He talked me into accounting "because you're good at math". I got an associate's degree in accounting, but, alas, it wasn't my cup of tea. By this time we were married and I was doing accounts payable/payroll at a nursing home. I HATED my job, well, really it was my boss I couldn't stand. Blah, blah, blah. I got pregnant with DS20 (had him at age 22), worked til the end of my pregnancy and quit to be a SAHM. DH had an associate's degree in business management and was a grocery store assistant manager. He grew to despise his job. We moved to GA in 1998 because he wanted to become a police officer (another long story!) By the time DD (child #3) was nearing school age, I knew I'd either want another child or I should get to work. Saw an ad in a local paper for nursing school and decided I would do that. I'm now an LPN. I fully intended to work in a hospital on the mother/baby unit (to satiate my love of babies), but fell into a doctor's office job. Didn't love that job, but got used to the great hours/holidays off, etc. Got another job in an ENT office. Love my job now. I've been there 5 years. But LPNs in doctor's offices don't make near what they make at hospitals and I'm not willing now to work weekends/holidays (I got spoiled). And now I SO wish I had gotten that teaching degree..... So, we're always broke (my DH works his a$$ off so we can go to Disney), but we've been married 22 years and I love him more EVERY day. And I don't eat well OR work out. :headache: Yeah.......I regret BOTH our education decisions.....youth is wasted on the young....

My plan for Be Our Guest is to book something else (Crystal Palace, CRT or Tony's) 180 days out, because I don't think they'll be booking BOG by then. And then watching like crazy for them to start booking for that and book immediately. I wouldn't even care if they were just opening when we go and maybe taking walk-ups. I wouldn't care if service were not good yet, or they were just testing or WHATEVER. I just wanna go! And PRAYING it will work out....

Smileybug- of COURSE we noticed! I'm glad you and DH don't shoot AT each other! I'm sorry you cancelled this year's trip. But glad you did it for a good reason (though I'm not sure ANYthing would be a good reason to cancel a Disney trip!). Now I can be less jealous, though!

Ugh! Disney keeps trying to entice us to come THIS fall. I want to! Not happening...... UGH!:headache:

Sorry for the ridiculously long post!:rolleyes1

I did notice and I'm glad you came back to us.
Well at least you'll have next year to look forward to. Make sure to keep us updated on any competitions you go to. We may not be there in person but we can be there in spirit cheering you on.:cheer2:

I can't wait to read your MVMCP report!! We plan on attending one on the night of our oldest DS's bday. Are y'all planning on going to see the Osbourne lights? If you do, I would love tips. I kinda have a huge crowds in relatively small spaces phobia.

True you may be able to get a high paying job, but you are truly lucky to have one that you love. I had thought about becoming a nurse. When I had our oldest son I had hypertension/toxemia that put me in the hospital at 31 weeks. All of the nurses were wonderful, but there was one that really made me feel like everthing was going to be ok. She wore a button on her scrubs with the picture of this 6'3" high school boy in his football uniform. She had been through the same thing with her son and he was a preemie. He had started off at only a few pounds and was then a teenager and 6'3". However a have a major fear of needles and of making a mistake that could cause someone to loose their life. I do plan, though, to volunteer one day in a local NICU.

@ letthewookiewin - I'll be happy to get you a recipe for gumbo, but the shrimp etoufee was bad. I wouldn't dare share it. We ended up eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! We are on a search for new recipe for that. Do you want chicken & sausage gumbo or seafood gumbo?

We did 50's Prime Time cafe last year. It was probably our least favorite meal. The staff was friendly, and not into character much. They were very slow and the food was so-so at best. We won't be doing that again, but I've heard others rave about it. It's a neat place to go once for the atmosphere.

@ ThreeAngles - Cape May or Captain's Grill may be worth a try. I'll have to look into those.

Has anyone tried Flying Fish at the Boardwalk?

I guess I'm the only one who waited til I was older to get married... still didn't finish my college education, but I have a great job and work for a wonderful company. I really don't see myself ever leaving here. DH & I didn't get married until I was 30...had DD at 33 and DS at 36. I'm glad I waited so long. I had a lot of fun when I was younger, and got to travel. Most of my classmates from high school have kids who are in high school or college, but mine are in preschool and elementary school. It's funny how life worked out.

Sooo... DMIL, who is coming with us to Disney, offered to pay the difference for us all to upgrade to a Deluxe resort... she mentioned the Poly or Grand Floridian! :dance3: We haven't decided if we are going to take her up on her offer, but I've been pricing things out. She mentioned it on our last trip, and I think she really wants to stay at a resort with monorail access. I've got some more calculating to do.

I stayed at the Poly last year and LOOOOOVED it! I would soooo stay there again! Thats nice of your DMIL to offer to pay the difference! I would so be taking her up on that offer! :worship:

Are you any closer to figuring things out?

Yes we have :goodvibeswe are going Friday Dec 2nd. Our plan takes off at 1259 and supposed to land at 309 then off to ME to POR and then to MK for dinner and MVMCP! :goodvibes

That is awesome!! :woohoo:

On a side note, I am sooooo sick! I think I have a very bad head cold or worse the FLU!!! Let me back up a few days to fill you all in on what has been going on........so after we got the truck fixed, and went to Phily, the plan was that early that week, we would have our basement worked on some more. DH and his side job boss are going to be doin the work(he's a contractor) so I waited Mon,Tues and Wed evening for them and they never showed up(too many other jobs thatdidnt get done) so no big deal. Then Thursday night DH tells me he is on his way to Home Depot to get our new basement sliding door(since his boss is helpin, it cut some of the cost out so we could get the door without more OOP costs). They say they are going to install it tonight! :scared1: :headache: SORRY but WTH were they thinking?!?!?!?! popcorn:: So here I am watching them do this. They take the other one out and discover the header above the door is roted out. :scared1:
and Home Depot is closed. :sad2: :scared1: OMG! To make matters worse-his boss was leaving on vacation for 4 days! He wouldnt be back til late Monday night and couldnt get here til Tuesday!:scared1: So they braced my house up with 4x4s and other wood. Structuraly it was safe but I was worried! So we had to get the other header out and the house was not sealed up so it was so cold in here! I didnt want to turn the heat on cuz it would go right out the door. I managed to make it through the weekend. SUnday morning, our truck had a flat tire :headache: I really have had it with all this bad luck lately- let me tell you!!! So yesterday I was so sick  but DH and his boss put my new header in, the new door in and they are gonna finish up tonight :yay: You dont know how happy I am! If I wasnt sick I'd be :dance3: :cheer2:    Maybe now, I can start getting excited about Disney

Alright I am going to go lay down. i will check back in later :)

I am so sorry you have been dealing with so much. If I lived closer I would bring you some homemade chicken soup.

But thank goodness the door is getting fixed. :thumbsup2

Keep seeing yourself as a survivor not a victim. Your glass is always half full. Not half empty.

mommyof3.....Disney has just dropped a room only discount. You should check it out and see if it will save you any money.

Any one else fitting in a Nov. 2011 trip? Run and look into this.

@ mommyof3princess27 - That's the party we went to last year. We loved it!! Can't wait to go back next year! Bring us back some pictures! Hope you are feeling better, and hope your door gets finished!! :)

@ smileybug - I got really excited at first - I though you were talking about a discount for next year!!

Sooo... after much calculating and discussing with my DMIL, we are going to stay at the POLY... :cool1: IF we get a code!! We really want a 40% off code, but we will take a FD code. Instead of two rooms at the Pop, we will get 1 room at the Poly, and go in together. DH and I will still only pay what we were going to for the POP, and DMIL will pay the difference. :cool1: If we don't get a code, we may stay at the Beach Club or the Art of Animation (I think that's the name). No matter what happens, I'll be happy because we will be at Disney... and THAT's what it's all about!! :dance3:

I hope everyone is having a great time planning.

ACK! I cant find it! lol but I did notice that we have FD and we will pay more oop witha room only PIN even up to 35% off. I guess cuz its a short trip :confused3 I did notice that now you need to stay 4 nights/5days to get FD we are only there 3nights/4days. They must have changed it,.

OK I found the link and its only a 20% davings bummer :( Even Poly is 25%. When we stayed there last year we had a 40%. I think DIsney is getting slim on their discounts lol. Anyway thanks all for the well wishes. I think I have like a 24 hour thing or the flu. I am very weak and cant even sit up! Thats bad for me cuz I got in the habit of working out like 40-50 min 5x a week. I havent even walked 40 steps in 2 days! lol Chicken soup Smilybug :) that sounds good. I wish you did live closer:)

Happy Thursday Everyone! I am not on much at night since I have classes and kids and stuff so I will mostly post during the day while I am work. Although I do have to wait for the boss to leave! Lol. I was also married at a young age (18). We waited two years to have kids. We actually went to Disney in Mar 09 to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary when they had the 4/3 deal. We went on our first adult only vacation for our 10th this past spring but DH would not go to Disney with out the kids so we did everything but Disney in Orlando.

He rolls his eyes at the time I spend planning vacations but he always makes the time for he and the kids to thank me for another great vacation! I plan every detail but once on vacation I am not a crazy tour guide. I know everything doesn't go as planned and tell myself often so I can enjoy instead of getting upset that something is not going as planned. I love the time I put into planning as much as the vacation.

You're a woman after my own heart! I love the planning almost as much as the vacation itself. My goal is to know as much as I possibly can so that when something important doesn't go as planned I've got a backup! Once I'm at Disney we go as the "wind" takes us but we do it knowing what we are or aren't missing :goodvibes No coming back from Disney and saying"I didn't know" for us!

Plus my DH is always impressed, and brags to his friends, about how much money I saved us by all the research!

This is just how I am ya'll. :goodvibes The planning keeps me sane. :thumbsup2 And we follow things for the most part but there is always room for change.

mommyof3 I hope you are feeling better.
