ACDSNY,nothing like trying to save money for a trip to make time pass by more quickly. I keep telling myself that I need to work on my funds. At the rate I am going I will have procrastinated all the way until November! :scared1: Good thing I am not saving for DL and a cruise! You are absolutely right. The park all decked out for the holidays is simply amazing! Of course after spending the day at the zoo today I am even looking forward to seeing the splendor of Disney's spotless bathrooms!

As fast as I try to get ahead something happens and I take a step backwards. Nov & Jan are going to be here way too fast. It doesn't help that I'm no good at collecting from family members from our last Nov WDW trip or the deposit for the couple that's going with us on the cruise.:sad2:

I agree, no place has bathrooms like DL.:cloud9: We went to Sea World for a day last year and I had to walk all over the place to find a bathroom with a changing table and it was gross.:headache:

I was hesitant to post yet because I thought our trip was still tentative, but when I discussed it in tentative terms with DW this weekend, she said "Why wouldn't we be going?"

We learned a couple of weeks ago that DS13 will have the entire week of Thanksgiving off this year for the first time. My first thought was "We could go to Disneyland!" When I shared that thought with DW, her eyes lit up. The first thing I checked was whether the ENT rate was available at Hojos and it as for the entire trip, so I went ahead and booked it.

So the plan is to arrive on Saturday, 11/20 and leave either late afternoon/evening on Wednesday, 11/24 (and fight the airport mayhem) or leave early on Thanksgiving so that we make it back to CO in time for turkey with the family. The decision will probably end up being based on airfares, which I agree are outrageous right now. Hoping to book much better fares in late summer.

The three of us have been to DLR twice before. We celebrated DW's lymphoma remission the first week of December 2008, then decided to celebrate DS's 13th birthday there in October 2009. This will make three straight years for us, plus we were at WDW in 2007. I've read that Thanksgiving week is busy but even a busy day at DLR beats being at work or dealing with the chilly CO weather.

Guess I should go ahead and set up a ticker now...

Jrsy Boy - Yep, time to set up the ticker and join the November craziness.:goodvibes By the way I love your tag!

Jade, I think it would be a fine way to celebrate all your family members birthdays. I would love a Disneyland trip on mine! However, I am not sure if you could do any sort of "official" Disney celebration. Seems to me like they would require it to actually be the day of your birthday to be able to take advantage of any of the freebies. Just remind them that being at DL is a gift in itself! :thumbsup2

ACDSNY, I would be rather annoyed if my family members forgot to pay their share. They most likely would not be getting another invite from me. Guess these friends and family members must assume you are their personal travel agent! :confused3
At last, someone else who understands the appreciation of a clean bathroom!

Jrsy Boy, isn't it nice to come out out the "tentative" phase?!!! Glad that DW finally confirmed it for you. :cheer2:

I was not sure if we were going either and I suppose in a manner of speaking I still could fall in the "tentative" category since I am not positive on our exact dates but what a relief to finally be able to say we have definite plans to be there sometime during November. My original plan was for us to leave on the 21st but now I am thinking we might as well stay til Wed too since the work week will already be messed up. Perhaps we will see you there! Still trying to decide if I am brave enough to face the Thanksgiving crowd... and mainly waiting to confirm whether we will be traveling with another family or alone. A great deal is also going to depend on airfare. Right now it is way too high!

Fellow travelers. I have a confession.

I was reading the sticky threads yesterday when I realized that there was not a November planning thread represented in the Disneyland Resort Meets. Silly me, :headache: and my failing memory, started a new November check in thread because I failed to remember this one. I hope kprincesskate and everyone else here can forgive me

for being a little dingy and inadvertently starting a second November thread. Hopefully, the 2 threads will be merged.

If you would like... come on over and add your name to the list of Disers heading to Disneyland in November on the other thread too.
