NOVEMBER 2008 Code Watch...

Wow, are you sure it has dining. I know they have codes for a package with rooms, but you had to pay for the dining that day. If that is true. A value room goes for $99 during those weeks, a ticket is $75, and what is dining $38. That is a great savings, I wish I would get an e-mail, I am going during those dates.

Yes it's free dining...I was shocked when I saw it..I read it a couple times to make sure I was reading it right..I have never received a pin code from Disney before...even my TA surprised.

my email was from Disney destinations, it was addressed to us and said
"pack now and the dinings on us B.... family"
I had recently filled out a thing on the Disney destination website and it asked when I was planning on making my next trip and I had put november. If i had gotten this sooner I would of planned my trip during these times.

wondering if it gives you a pin number, can you let someone else use it, like could I give my pin number to ohmari above who is going at that time, if I only give it to one person privatly

Knowone answered my question above, but that's ok, just wanted to add that I looked again today and I feel it is wrong how Disney keeps changing the prices on the calendar. When I first looked it clearly showed $54 for the time I wanted to go in Nov. , but when I put in the dates it always would pop up $99, now the calendar doesn't have a rate for my dates at all and other dates have went up in price, most days have went up to $74 or even $84?? Just doesn't make no sense to me why they would do this. I know these are still good prices, but guess I just don't understand how they could do it, changing them day to day, it's confusing and doesn't give people time to even think about it......:confused3 :sad2:
Being so close to the holidays guess I'll be looking for a military rate somewhere else;)

I'm guess that it goes by occupancy rates. So when the resort is filled to level X, then the rate is $54. Once the occupancy reaches level Y, then the rate goes up.

I called to apply the AP discount to a current reservation. The CM told me the discount was available, but it is not as good as the AAA discount I already have. What a bummer!!!

Hope I get the email others got. I never seem to get anything from them:sad1:

Agreed! Two straight trips that the AAA discount was better than the AP.:confused3

And I have yet to get a pin code as well! :sad1:

hello, by chance can another Fla. Resident tell me if they know if all the Fla. resident rates are gone for Nov.
I guess I put it off too long, was waiting for the rates to come out, then when they did I was busy with the kids getting ready for school to start, now that I try I can't seem to get any of the rates to pull up.:sad2:
Thanks for any help!

I'm not a FL resident, but I would suggest calling Disney and asking them. I find person-to-person interaction is the best way to get info.

I just recieved an email from Disney with a pin, my first one ever. If I book from Sept 28 to Oct 11, Nov 9 to 22, or Dec 14 to 20 it will give me free Dining, I have never seen free dining offered at this time of year. Sad thing is We have booked to go Nov 30 to Dec 14, we already have our plane tickets bought and just bought our passes so we are out of luck, I am so sad as that would of been awesome. It was a rate of $63 per person per day for a value resort and that included dining and passes. Wish I had of got it about 2 weeks earier.

That's cool they are offering free dining. It's too bad everything is already booked. Who did you book your plane tickets through?

For my 2 cents, I have decided that the code I received in the email saves us more than free dining this time around. Plus I decided that having a TS every night will hinder our plans and we won't be able to go back to the room for a nap or swim midday. (Prior to the DDP changes I would say free dining is a very good deal, but now that you have to pay your own tips... it just doesn't save us that much money anymore.)

$99 is the rack rate for value resorts in WDW. I'm assuming the cheap rates you were referring to are FL resident rates. I don't know how these rates work, but for them to change them day-to-day is no surprise to me. It's like plane tickets, you snooze you lose, I guess.

Do you think we never get any emails or pins is because we go so often? They know they already have us!!!

...

Hi, Becky! I sent you a note with my dates and resort just over two weeks ago. Then my computer crashed. I didn't realize I made a mistake in my dates, either that or I'm staying for a year at CBR, lol! :lmao: Or, maybe that was just wishful thinking! ;)

Anyway, here is the correction on my dates for our upcoming visit:

Minniekins Nov 14 - Nov 23 CBR

Thanks very much, Becky! :)

I thought thesame thing, then we got a card with a pin code. Unfortunately there is no availability with it for our dates unless I update room category and spend even more $$$$. As if $364 a night isn't bad enough!

I am waiting for AAA to call me back, but I saw there was a GP code, so I called my AAA agent to get me that code and she told me that she called and I can't get it because of the dates I am travelling. I was like what about dividing it up into 2 ressies. She said nope can't do that you can't get it they are totally sold out.

Well, from reading DIS I know that's not true. SO, I went on disney.com and pretended to book, and I got a rate $600 lower than what we are paying. So now I have a call into AAA, any ideas on what I can do?

We are travelling Nov 20-Nov 28, and I don't want to lose the deposit we paid but darn $600 is a lot.

You are outside of 45 days so you should not lose your deposit. I would recommend that before you cancel anything call WDW directly and see if this is true availability. Sometimes there are new openings available only by callign directly. I'd then book myself, give the CC info, then cancel the AAA, if you have the funds available to have that extra money sitting in limbo for a few days.

IF you don't want to cause hard feelings with your AAA TA just tell her you have an unexpected conflict.

How do I go about subscribing to a "code watch"?

Thanks

Thank you so much rcraw45425. I finally got her on the phone again, she told me that maybe they were trying a different code or not checking Standard rooms (we had water view at POR), so she called them and they had 1 room at POR for the new rate. The dilemma was that we are travelling with my Inlaws so she said she could get the rate at CBR if we wanted to change both ressies. So we changed, I am a little nervous, never stayed there, hopefully it will be good, and we ended up saving 554 and my inlaws 440 something. So all in all worth it!
