NOVEMBER 2008 Code Watch...

I just sent an e-mail to my travel agent hoping that she can find us some sort of discount but I'm not holding my breath! I guess if we had to change resorts that would be okay, but POP was the only choice both families could agree on.

This is the reply I just got from my TA...

"The AAA discounts are already in place...they automatically go on, we have our own AAA Disney World website and reservations center...it is called the magic moments rate...if you have that info I would like to look at it, but it sounds to me that it is something that goes to people that do not do their booking through AAA, we have come across that before, a lot of our members are not aware of the discounts that they get through AAA...AAA members save on average $200 or more than the general public, plus you get some vouchers for like planet Hollywood, a souvenir, mini golf and a few other things...perks that the general public does not get. but I would like to look into that for you if I could get more info on that info you received. thanks for the update its always good to know!!! :)"

Can anyone help me help her? She really has never seemed too familiar with Disney. :confused3

I feel like you MikkiM, I wouldn't stay any place else and I mentioned that to my TA when I filled in our booking information form here on the Dis. Well, I would switch to a deluxe, but that's something else entirely ::yes::!

Congrats to all who got big fat discounts :thumbsup2 and good luck to all of you still waiting to hear :goodvibes.

and remember...We're all going to Walt Disney World !!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

First, she's wrong about the "perks." I have the same perks and I booked myself through WDW Travel. Maybe you could go to Disney's website and see what is available. If there is something you want, you can either call her back and have her do it. Or, you could cancel your trip through them and book WDW direct (I don't know if there's a penalty, since I didn't use AAA).

What are your dates? I have access to the TA site and can let you know whats available so you are armed with the knowledge you need when you contact your TA.

Oh boy! I just went out to the Disney site and can save $131 on my first room and $188 on my second for a total of $319 if my TA can get the same rate - like I said she doesn't seem too in tune with booking Disney travel. :scared1: I literally saved the offers copied them into Word, copied the box I clicked on at the Disney site, told her I thought it was rate code QXD now if she can get it for us is yet to be known. I hope so that would make my day! :goodvibes

Well it looks like you have done all the work....your TA should have no issue applying the dicount. I just plugged in your dates and get availability at values and mods with no problem. The TA may not want to discount your package because they would make less in commission. Good luck and I hope you save some $$$.

It is a small popular resort that books up quick. Besides I am one of the bookings there. They may be able to just switch my ressie to the discounted one. But why would they do that when they can switch me to a resort that is not booked for the discount and then rebook my room at rack rate due to the popularity of the resort. I am hoping they just keep me where I am booked now(POFQ) and just give me the discount.:thumbsup2

I called this morning (only 2 minutes on hold) got a great CM. I tried to use the discount with my existing ressie for POFQ. Nothing available for my dates, but she could change me to POR. :scratchin I have my heart set on POFQ, so I declined. I will keep trying just in case someone upgraded. I would love to take the discount for them. ;)

It would be nice to save a few bucks, but my ressie has been paid in full since May. So, it really isn't anymore money that I haven't already paid.

Well, I wish everyone luck! I opened the mail box today and out came our first PIN code post card in 5 years! I'm working now with our interim TA to get it applied to our existing reservation. I looked into booking a new one for our dates(Nov 7-10) and the ONLY deluxe with availability for 5 was YC and BC water view, which after the PIN were still more per night than my AAA discount!

ETA: BTW, I was told by the CM at the CRO that DGE is the same as the PIN code rate, whatever that means.

I checked online for our dates at POP - 11/21 - 11 /28 and nothing was available. We could have switched to Allstars but the kids love POP. I switched my rack rate yesterday to the AP rates at POP and saved around $99.00. Heck it's $99.00 I can spend on something else! I was able to do that because DH and I will be at WDW in August for 3 days and already got 6day MYW hopper tickets from UT before the price went up. We can upgrade to AP's after we visit the parks. I will just order MYW hoppers for the kids from UT later. I still come out ahead of my original price!

Try DGE, when I called this morning, the CM told me that code was the room only code. There were no rooms for my stay in Oct with the discount, so I was not able to use any of the codes

Can anyone confirm this code for room-only? If so, can we hear the rates on this code?

EDIT: I went ahead and called myself. CM said this is a PIN code: they need a number after the DGE, so no dice for the general public. Rats.

I called this morning with the code and got a great CM. Nothing was available at POP for my dates, and we didn't want to do an All-Star so she checked the mods. We ended up upgrading to POR and still saving almost $250. I was very happy with that!

Originally booked on July 25th. Called today with code, naturally my TA from AAA is out until Monday - a fill-in from our last trip was able to get our original package POP 6 nights, 4 day hopper in November for $238 less!! Have a great day!!

Yeah my TA said POFQ was not avail. for the discount. I did get booked at POR though. They are connected you know. Just a short walk or boat ride down the river to POFQ. We stayed at POFQ last time we went and stayed at POR the previous two times. POFQ is not worth $232 to me or my family however and we are going with POR. We are saving over $371 from the Disney rate on our 5 night stay.:thumbsup2

My TA tried the code for our stay at the BC 10/31 to 11/8 this morning but said nothing was available. :sad2: Did anyone get to use the code for BC? I am bummed but we really have our hearts set on staying at BC -- it will be our first time!! :cool1:

Magicalfoursome-- I was told that BC was full.. but YC had openings earlier today. For 6 nights, Dining Plan, and tickets with no hoppers-- standard room was $3800. November 29- December 5th.

Hope this helps you.. oh yes-- we have two adults, two children 5 and 7 and one 1 year old.

I was told that that is a code that has to have a PIN code. I have a PIN code but the only deluxe rooms it's working for for my dates are water view BC and YC at $433 a night with taxes!

    I am trying to get a price together for a vaction for All Star Movies for three adults. AAA gave me a quote for airfare, 5 day park hopper for $1782.03. Is that a good deal?:confused3

I haven't read through all these posts yet... so I'm going to post quotes and my responses...

Anyone have luck with the GP discount for this morning, booking in November? I'm on eternal hold right now to see if I can apply it to my package...

I was on hold for 40 min this morning before I hung up to go to work.

I was originally booked at POFQ but the only king bed rooms available for the code were at CSR. I saved $299!!!!

We're going November 20-24.

That's what they told me also... King beds at CSR.

After 30 minutes on hold, I was told there's nothing available at the Poly with the GP code (all sold out). DANG!!!!:sad2:

They had Poly for my dates. :(

Can you apply the code online? or only on the phone?

From the past, they will release a code out and at some point in time you will be able to book it online. I'm not sure how long though. You would go to WaltDisneyWorld.com, the click tickets and reservations on the top right hand side of the page and the on the left, look for special offers. It will be listed there when they do it.

Waiting to hear from my TA. Staying at the BC 10/31-11/08. I am hoping!!:worship:

The CM told me there was no BC for my dates. :(

so is there nothing for a room only reservation? And why is everyone having to switch to POR from POFQ, does the code not work there or something?

As I had assumed before, a couple of the resorts offer very little or NO avail. POFQ and WL are two that I know of.

There is a lot that comes into play. Is it a standard or preferred room? Where are you flying from (this makes the most difference)?

*************

Ok so I called this afternoon and added 2 nights to my trip and water parks... it turned out to cost about $300 more per person for our trip. That includes airfare, food, and drinks along with the package. After talking to Eric we decided to not go with it. SO I called back and changed it back to my original ressie: 7 nights, Pop standard, 5 day base for $847.78.

Also when I got home from work I called and priced out DGL for my info:
Pop: $847.78
CSR (king bed): $1397.42
WL (honeymoon - consierge): $3366.10
AKL (savanah -consierge): $2616.76
Poly (garden view): $2925.10
BC/YC: no avail

Besides the king room at CSR which I asked for... all others were the cheapest room they had avail.
