We could do a 3 night Vegas(three nights is all the time we can dump our kids off on someone!)

We do not gamble, We do the shows, and, well, um, sleep in!
So we would only book if we can get the shows we want.
Any other DIS'ers in?

Gee, with these trips planned, i gotta start selling!
This is a good thing, gets me motivated.

JS

If any of you need any las vegas info, please feel free to ask Chuck and me. Until this summer, my dad had a home in Vegas and that is where we have spent almost every thanksgiving until this year. The Disney cruise was booked after my dad sold his home. It is now our new Turkey day tradition!!

We will be in cabin 6030 next turkey day.

Ahhhhhh yes, motivated by debt......There are good charter rates out of Midway Thursday thru Mondays......Funjet I believe....We don't gamble also but I have throw a few coins in from time to time if the is a cocktail waitress walking around with my favorite refreshment.........

Another true story........Last October we were there at the Monte Carlo (Kim stood up in a wedding) We took our DDs. They were out by the pool and I went inside to get a miller lite (surprised?). I ask the bartender (after he gave me a bottle) "can I take this by the pool?" (Thinking they may not want bottles around the pool....glass) To where he responds to me....."sir this is Vegas, you can take that to church if to want!".....I LOVE VEGAS!!!! LOL

All 2005 Turkey Day dis'ers are invited!! When do yall want to go? In the summer? Where to stay? (I have only been to LV once, many moons ago)

:upsidedow

Hey, Ronnie
I told you are already book for T-day. I just KNEW you were going to do it...couldn't resist us, uh? Well, glad your with us.

Now I hear the Las Vegas thing...this is a DIS thread not a Las Vegas thread. :earboy2:

...and yes my DH needs to go get more sales if he wants to have more fun with all of our DIS people. :cool1:

Well I hope by next month, I'll be doing my first painting (faux) job and I'm hoping I will make as much $$$$ as my DH does. hehehe.

Anyway, I gotta get back to finishing up the Christmas decorations. This is fun keeping in touch.

Theresa,
Glad you mentioned that all 2005 Turkey Cruisers are invited...that would be alot of fun...more the merrier.

Don't worry, The head Easter Bunny is here with his Mouse ears on :earboy2: .

I'm just enjoying all of the banter. Besides ICEMANPAD, doesn't any of the Turkey gang 04 come from the "east".

Kennyk

Icemanpad, where do you recommend to stay in LV?

5j's--sleep and shows--sounds great to DH, I will need to hit the nickel slots (do they still have those?) a couple of times

Ron--drinks sound great, but do they serve Snowflakes?

Did anyone see that all the park tickets are revamped for WDW? They now sell Magic Your Way tickets. They are pretty flexible, and the dining deal is great. You have to stay onsite to get it though.

Has anyone thought about rebooking onboard again? I was thinking that if we are in the mood, we might rebook for the 10 day Christmas 2006. It is an eastern. pirate:

Are you on a permanent vacation?

10 eastern, ummmmmmmmm
Maybe if we bank our points this year

I do owe my Kitten a trip out west
Las Vegas does not count unless we go to Grand Canyon

I have only been to LVegas twice in the last two years, went through most of the Hotels.... Stay anywhere on the strip, perferably in the middle.
Walk out the front door turn right, cross the street about five hours later.
Then walk back down to the hotel for five hours.
Next day, turn left and repeat.

But.... i want to talk about MICKEY! :earboy2:
Our Christmas tree is Disney, Our Bathroom is Mickey, My office is Mickey
R--U--C-ing the trend?
:earboy2:

yes
i do not know who i was talking to on the cruise...
i thought it was you guys...
We may fly to Seattle and take ten days and fly out of San Diego
Visit Disneyland/Universal
So not too sure about Vegas, but.......i know i'm there in March
JS :earboy2:

You might have been talking to us, but in my fan crazed Bon Jovi/Village people/ Bahama Mama state, I don't remember :rockband:

We wanted to go to Disneyland sometime during the 50th but don't have a date set yet. ::MickeyMo

Hey Teresa,
We ate at the Kemah Salt Grass Friday night. The seafood fondue was terrific. I am glad it is an hour away from me!

I am going to Vegas with "the boys" the later part of April. I used to have time to go fishing/hunting with my buddies quite often. But nowadays, with my girls involved in so many sports, and me coaching them, I don't have time to hunt /fish like I used to. So I am rewarded for all the money I save by an annual trip to Vegas. But I would like to surprise Kell with a trip.
I do gamble some, but not a huge part of the trip. I love the shows and just checking out the hotels. I also love just hanging and having a beer by the pool. I was at the Paris for business in September. It is beautiful, and is located right in the middle of the strip. But any of those in the middle of the strip are great.
I have been to Vegas in July, and it was 118 degrees. But still was not as humid/uncomfortable as we get here in east Texas. When I was there this past April, the weather was great. Same in September.

Willie

Regarding Las Vegas, the Paris hotel is very nice and centrally located. The Venetian is an all suite hotel right on the strip. The Rio is a very nice off strip hotel. It's an all suite hotel, has a mardi gras theme w/ a parade from the ceiling and a wonderful seafood buffet--lobster, shrimp, crab legs, oysters, etc--all you can eat. It's Chuck's favorite restaurant.

Regarding Disneyland-we visited it and California Adventure this past summer. It was neat seeing it b/c of the history. However, we may be biased b/c we live in Florida, but to us it cannot compare to the "magic" of Walt Disney World!! If anyone is planning a trip to Orlando, please let us know. We visit quite frequently and may be able to meet up w/ you!!

Also, I had a typo in a previous message--we will be in cabin 6630 on the 11/05 cruise if all goes well. We may have a problem taking that week off at work--the problems of working together!! Chuck claims to stay confident--so we will let ya'all know.

Hey Willie--so close and yet so far! I am sorry we could not catch up with each other last weekend. We were in the Heights when that plant exploded. We heard it as we were putting up the competiton tables, and thought it was thunder  Would yall be up for a summer trip to LV?

Lisa--great recommendations! It is great having an insiders knowledge to the area

We are going to be in WDW on March 9-13th if yall are going to be around then. We are staying at OKW and flying in late on Wednesday, and leaving about 2 on Sunday. A quick trip to see what is new and different (ok, so I can shop also! :earboy2: )

Here is good luck to you for getting off Thanksgiving week :wizard:

Re Summer LV- YES! I am up for a Vegas trip anytime. I don't know why, but Vegas room rates only come out about 2 mos ahead of time. Making it difficult to look at dates real far out. I have also looking at the weekend of march 18-19. That is a weekend that I will not have to coach Little Dribblers basketball. But I can wait for summer. June-July are usually pretty open for me. I have to do a weekend, because we have to keep the office doors open during business hours. We are a Family/Mom and Pop business you know.

Willie

I LOVE YA MAN :) disney and vegas??? this crew is the bestestest! holidays are cramming my day (btw i would fall in the newbie category I guess, not an easter bunny or former turkey day cruiser, but not new to DCL either?) anyhoo --hard to keep up with it all and i will be few and far between until after jan 11 when I return from my 1/2 marathon trip to the world. BUT -- a preprepre-meet in columbus sounds great!

i will actually be in cinci dec 21, not a fun day though -- dr. appts at children's -- you don't work there do you? just on the off-chance

my DH and I honeymooned in Vegas and try to go every 5 years to celebrate. next summer will be our 10th anniversary trip if we take one. probably depends on airfare, etc

and -- my parents who are cruising with us are in their latter 50s -- someone mentioned. and we are both on deck 2, can't remember the staterooms right now -- early dining

Teresa-Thanks for the good wishes!! Chuck keeps telling me not to worry. Unfortunately, I'm a worrier by nature. I'm going to keep thinking positive thoughts!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful, happy and magical holiday season!! :flower1: :wizard: :grouphug:
