Just a quick update on the FE list. I just heard from abqDisneymom. It is doubtful that they are going to be making this trip due to personal matters and if they are able to make it, she won't be able to participate in the FE. I've asked her to update me when she knows for sure if they will be on board or not.

With that said, I already have my gifts done so if abqDisneymom is able to come, I will still be able to give a gift and not expect anything in return. It will be up to each of the other participants whether or not they can do the same.

Thanks for the meetups Double. We are right across from that secret veranda and should be able to meet up with you a few times

I've added you to roll call on page one of this thread. Please check for accuracy because I am known to get distracted. It's gonna be a "Wonder"ful cruise. Our info for the mini FE exchange is:

Be sure to check out DoubleTrouble's meet up schedule. While everyone is invited to all the meets, one of the meets you want to try to make it to is the 3:00, deck 3, Promenade Lounge. You'll meet other cruisers and if you are on the FE exchange, get any room changes at that time.

From what I can tell, the ship is pretty full. Took awhile, but it got there! I'll open up my suitcases and start putting some stuff in there this weekend. We are very cold and rainy right now if northern CA so I won't be needing the stuff I'm gonna put in the suitcase

We are going to DL on the 17th, the day before the cruise? Anyone else going? Wanna meet up for some precruise dessert?

Does anybody know what beach club you go to on that land's end cruise and beach break? We are going on the first day in Cabo. It feels like it may be over priced but just wondering if anyone has any experience with it

FE stands for Fish Extender. Outside your cabin door is a fish hanger. People who participate in the FE exchange, hang a gift receptor off the fish. Everyone else who is participating puts gifts in your hanger and you put gifts into theirs. There are lots of threads out there about it, lots of examples of gift receptors and of gifts themselves. Its a fun thing to do - to come back to your room and find some little trinket in your pouch.

Liz & Elaine, We can't wait to meet you as well! Send me a PM. Where in SoCal are you traveling from and what time do you think you'll arrive at the hotel? We try to arrive early/mid afternoon to beat the traffic and allow for delays. tammie33 and family will probably arrive by 5 or so. Have you stayed there before? If not, let me know and I'll PM you some details.

We usually walk the marina in the late afternoon (weather permitting) and hang out with a glass of wine around 5 before (and/or after) heading out for an early dinner in town.

Regarding Cabo, you can search disboards for Cabo Beach Break and probably get some specifics. It really depends on what you want, but if you want to be more independent/flexible you can get a water taxi very cheaply that will take you on a sea tour of Lands End (Lovers Beach, El Arco, Divorce Beach), then drop you almost anywhere on Medano Beach (with a great photo op of the Wonder along the way). Medano Beach has numerous condo/hotels and bars where you can hang out to eat/drink, tan, and enjoy water sports, or you can hang out on one of the quieter sections if you prefer. The water taxi will return you to the marina at a prearranged time, or you can take a land taxi back for about $3-4/person.

One thing to note is if you sit on the beach away from one of the commercial establishments (as we do), you will get hit up by a pretty steady stream of locals hawking all kinds of merchandise. A polite "No Gracias" will send them on your way, but there can be quite a few.

Bottom line is Cabo is very easy and safe to navigate, and with some basic negotiating skills you can book just about anything (except dolphins) at a very reasonable price when you get there, either on the dock or beach.

Lastly, I've got to find it, but I'll post a link to another thread that has some info on independently booking pool/beach/food packages directly with a hotel.
