Woohoo. Can't wait dh and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary on board the Disney fantasy ship. This will be our 4th cruise but our first 7 day. We've done our others in the dream. We plan to do palo on the 19th for our actual anniversary.

Any body else going.

I booked this cruise yesterday, who's with me.
It will be me, Becky (my 8th DCL cruise), DD Sarah(21 at cruise time) (5th DCL), Mom and Niece (age 10 at cruise time)(1st DCL)

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :cool1:

Have a great cruise!

Tell me about the fantasy. I've been on the dream twice and by this cruise a third time. Is there pirate night. Is there wine and tequila tastings? Are there other tastings.

Well Mom couldn't get the time off so I guess we are Dreaming it instead. Have a great trip everyone!

Will probably be booking this cruise on our Nov 16 2013 fantasy cruise! Woohoo! Excited about San Juan being added!!!

We are on the Nov 16 2013 Fantasy cruise too!!! Our Fantasy cruise this past March stopped in San Juan and we are really looking forward to going back!

Hi my name is Samantha my family & I will be sailing on this cruise. Of course me Samantha my DH-Josh, my DS-Andrew(18), my DD-Logan(15), my DD-Lilly(6), my mom Pamela and dad Rusty will be sailing also. This will be our 4th Disney cruise once on the Magic and twice on the Dream so we're really EXCITED to be sailing on the Fantasy! We would like to participate in the FE exchange. Thank You Samantha!

I would love to start a FE Facebook page for our group also! I was curious if anyone had any objection to starting one before I do so! My last Disney Cruise Facebook page was very successful. It was a great way to get to know people and to keep in touch after the cruise also! I know our cruise is far off but its fun to get to know everyone before our cruise! Your Disney Cruise Friend Samantha!

looks like this is gonna be the date for our next cruise, we too were on the fantasy this past March and did the eastern itn. My dd and family will be joining us, they have been on the dream for a 4 night cruise but this will be a first time on the fantasy and 7 night cruise for them. 2 grandsons will be 5 and 7 at time of cruise. In my cabin along with dh, we will bring another grandson who will be 10, he has been on the magic with us before and he has also been on the dream, this is his first time on the fantasy! Seems so far away, guess it s just as well cause Im thinking of splurging and booking a 1 bedroom and will need lots of time to pay it off before we cruise! Havent booked this just yet but plan on doing so after I return from our upcoming trip to the world september 25, 1 month to go! Looking forward to chatting with you all and will be up for joining in on an fe exchange if one is put in place. Leslie:thumbsup2

would love to join in on the fb page once started and would also be interested in the secret santa exchange if one gets started. Have done fe s in the past but never secret santa but that sounds like fun , heard about the cabin crawl and that sounds like fun too! So where is everyone? lol Quess it may be awhile till this thread picks up since its soooo far off till cruise date, but never to far off to start the planning! lol:thumbsup2

Hello! We are booked for this cruise along with the West Caribbean right before as b2b cruises. We just got off the Disney Wonder on Saturday. We did b2b Alaska with the re-positioning Vancouver to LA after. Was wonderful! Our first Disney cruise was in December with the EB panama canal (was amazing! highly recommend the panama canal) We have so much fun on these cruises! I do find I go through withdrawls after getting home. LOL It's me (Karen), my husband Jerry and our almost 6 year old twin boys Andrew and Matthew. They turn 6 on Sept 27th. We would love to do the secret mickey exchange and also be on the facebook page.

Our cabin is 9548
Looking forward to chatting with you all and building the excitement!

Just booked this cruise on board the disney dream last week, had so much fun on our first cruise that we (my sister and I) have to go on a longer cruise.

I've created a early version of the FE exchange list. I've split it by port(Left Side) and starboard (Right Side) for now. I've also only put 15 slots for each list for now too. I'm really hoping the list doesn't become to BIG like the last cruise my family and I did. I had about 40 cabins which was really hard. The group waited to late to split. I think we should all agree if the group becomes to big that we'll split the group before its to late. If we're having to split the group I'm hoping not to have more then 20 so we can do some really nice gifts for everyone. The list is done through excel so if you see anything missing on the list or you need to add something feel free to do so and if you can't let me know and I'll fix it for you. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

FISH EXTENDER FAQ

So just what exactly is a fish and just why does it need extending?

The fish is a combination wall decoration/ornament and message clip that is attached to the wall outside every cabin door. The Cast Members (crew) use them to leave messages, official forms, or invitations for the occupants of the cabin as needed. Its kind of like a glorified fridge-magnet. On the newer ships they have a sea horse and sea stars and on the older ships its a fish.

A Fish Extender (FE) is any thing that you care to hang on the fish to extend its ability to hold items. Literally anything will qualify, but most people use some type pocket organizer similar to a shoe caddy or mail organizer. They can be as simple as a canvas bag or as complex as your imagination cares to stretch. Here are some examples:

You can make your own (tutorials are available on disboard and on the web), convert something you already have, or purchase from one of many online sellers (there are sellers on Ebay and Etsy, among other sites). You are aiming for something approximately 8" wide. Anything wider will hang out of the little recessed area around your cabin door and have the potential to be bumped into by passersby.

So, whats it for?

Its become a kind of Secret Santa game played by the folks on the DIS Boards. The idea is that every participant on the cruise will go around the ship and leave a little nick-nack or whats-it gift in the pouches for the other cabins that are playing along.

How much does this cost?

The amount you spend on gifts is entirely up to you. There is no minimum or maximum amount.

What types of gifts are given? Where can I see examples?

Commonly given gifts include cruise or Disney themed mementos and trinkets; items for use while on the cruise; gifts that represent the gift-giver's home city/town, state, or (foreign) country; and small toys/activities for children. Gifts can be handmade or store bought. If your gift contains multiple parts or smaller pieces, consider packaging it in a small bag (ziplock, favor/party bag, small paper bag, etc.).

There are several threads here on disboards with examples of FE gifts:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2473209
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1980639
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2907032

You can also find ideas by searching the web or Pinterest for "fish extender gifts."

Are there any gifts I should avoid?

Please make sure your gift doesn't contain something that is prohibited by DCL. This list includes balloons, candles, and homemade food items.

Some other questions to ask yourself: Will your finished gift be ruined by heat and humidity? Will your gift be difficult for the recipient to transport home on an airplane? Does your gift contain potential allergens that are not clearly labeled or identified?

How many gifts do I give, and to who?

Each cabin that is participating in the sign up and hanging a FE outside their door should prepare at least one gift for each cabin that is on the FE list. A family the occupies 2 cabins and is hanging 2 fish extenders historically has prepared 2 gifts for trading (or possibly one larger gift).

Some people give a general cabin gift for all people in the cabin. Others give individual gifts to each person in the cabin. Some do a combination of the two, giving a general cabin gift and then individual gifts for the children in the cabin. Some really enjoy gifting and prepare multiple gifts for the cabin, given on different days on the cruise.

When do we deliver the gifts?

Most FE groups allow participants to deliver their gifts at their own convenience. This allows it to be more of a surprise when a gift is found in the FE pocket. If the group decides to have a schedule for gift delivery, it will be be discussed on this thread and posted here
