November 14, 2010 4 Night Bahama Cruise

We just booked this cruise; however, we are getting ready for the last Med and then the WBTA so I don't have much time to chat until we return. Not planning on doing excursions just enjoying the ship.

:welcome: aboard...Sounds like you have lots of cruising fun coming up...that's cool :thumbsup2

So...how are you all getting to port? I'm currently deciding our transportation to port and would love some feedback on this, thanks in advance :thumbsup2

We're flying in Saturday morning and then returning home the following Friday, so we're doing one way rentals before and after the cruise. We've done both the DCL transfers and rentals (both one way, and when we got a bargain weekly rate parked @ the port). The rental is convenient because we can make stops to stock up on cruise items (beverages, etc) to take onboard, go out to dinner, and so on. I'll drop everyone off @ the DCL terminal, return the rental, and catch the shuttle van back to meet up with the rest of the gang.

The DCL transfers are convenient if you're going between the airport / WDW / Port Canaveral.

Awesome! Thanks for the input :thumbsup2

I guess it's a little early, but I've been printing door decorations all day! I can't wait!!!! :tinker:

Our cruise has been paid off!!! Now time to book excursions, etc..on Monday :cool1:

Going to be nosey...which excursions are you doing?

We booked the Atlantis excursion for Nassau and for Castaway Cay bike rentals & snorkeling...we did most of the bigger excursions at CC last time so we wanted to tone it down this time around and we also booked Palo which is a first for us. Hope we like it...has anyone else booked anything yet?

We stayed up late to book Palo brunch for us with my sister/brother-in-law, and waterski adventure @ Castaway Cay for the 2 of us. There weren't many Palo brunch options left at 12:02 this morning! We'll book the others when my sister and bil hit their booking window at 75 days (their first cruise).

That's cool...we too booked brunch at Palo :)

My husband and I have been to Nassau a few time but never to Atlantis. We've thought about doing that too...or maybe just staying on the ship. We've never been to CC. Any suggestions for a Dad, Mom and five year old little boy?

There was a total of 6 of us last cruise and we all had different things we wanted to do at Castaway Cay. There were 4 adults and 2 kids...my Father-in-law wanted to Parasail so he and I did that together while the ladies stayed back at the beach with the kids. Then it was my turn to stay at the beach with our youngest (3) while everyone else went to the Stingray excursion and he just wanted to play in the sand. When they returned we went for a bike ride around the island which we found relaxing. Then we capped Castaway Cay off with some snorkeling...my oldest (7) had a hard time with it then soon lost interest and we found that they were mostly happy in the play areas and in the sand.

Hope this helps a little :)

Our daughters were 5 and 9 when we all cruised last. In Nassau, we stayed on the ship and they enjoyed that the pools were nearly deserted, and we played ping-pong, etc. It was a very nice, relaxing day on the ship with the girls. On Castaway, we again didn't plan any excursions - similar to Don's experience, they most enjoyed playing in the water and sand and would have stayed there for days. (I can't say I'd blame them!) :cool2:

After seeing my little boy on the beach this summer, I'm pretty sure he will just want to play on the beach too!
