Welcome, Disneystowaway! I've not been here long but have enjoyed the company of the few who have popped in. I'm sure activity will continue to pick up as we near our date. In the meantime, welcome and glad you can join us!

Disneydreamer - thank you for the well wishes. We finally got heat after 2 days of frigid 15-degree weather. Of course, it's 45 degrees now that we have heat. With that said, I'm not going to complain. It's amazing what we take for granted, esp. when something like heat is gone for a day or 2. Brrrrr. How did those cavemen do it??

Hooray for heat!!! Just think in only 298 days (296 if you go down 2 days early and 297 if you go down on Friday ) and we'll all be basking in some lovely weather getting ready for our awesome Double Dip cruise!!!!

And I totally agree about taking things for granted, we lost power for not quite 2 days last summer/fall and it was miserable! But at least it wasn't winter when it happened, so no light and no AC but somehow we find a way to manage don't we

Can't wait til our trip!

Ok, we just got dumped with 10" of snow last night and expecting more tonight. I'm sooooo thankful we have heat!!! The cruise can't possibly come fast enough!

I feel like I'm back in Minnesota since all my posts have been about the weather ... we're expecting another snow dump this week. Keep your fingers crossed. I'm sooooooo glad we have HEAT!

Ok, can I tell everyone a secret? (I'm dying to tell somebody and will explode if I don't. I can't even tell my own mother because she'll likely slip.) My DH is turning 40 in July. I'm planning a big surprise party for him in late June when his best friend will be in town from Amsterdam, where he just relocated his family. I'm going to have DH unwrap a racing school baseball cap, look confused, and then run a video that shows his "ultimate middle-life crisis gift": a half-day session in a Formula 1 race car, Grand Prix-style, in Sonoma. I just got the package in the mail at my office on Friday, and I don't know how I can keep it a secret for 5 whole months!

Ok, thank you all for letting me tell my secret ... and make sure I keep it all under wraps!!

Sorry, 1 last post ... I got an auto email from a TA that said there's a Kids Sail Free special w/ DCL's Alaska cruise in May & June. Anyone hear about that? I did a KFO search, and nothing came up. Just curious.

Just did a quick search and found that it's only cruises that sail from May 3 to June 7. Could they have sold out that quickly? UPDATED: Checked DCL's website and you need to book an oceanview or verandah to get that rate.

And I got a kick from your 'secret' post. Sounds just like me. Cannot keep a secret if my life depended upon it. I try to tell our dogs to let off steam but it doesn't help. And DD seems sadly to be following in my footsteps. What an AWESOME surprise for him!

Has anyone thought about updating the sailing list? I'm in for the FE! Our stateroom is #7631 and we have early dining. Cannot wait...it's been almost 5 years since we sailed on the Magic.

We just put a deposit down last night for this cruise. It's our first on DCL and our first as a family (we did an adults only eastern Med on RCCL this past summer) so we are very excited. We are big WDW fans and DVC owners, so we are way overdue for a Disney cruise!

We're a family of four - I just turned 30, my husband will be 32, and our two kids Katie (will be 7) and Kieran (will be 6). The kids are VERY social so I expect that I'll have to drag them away from the kids clubs.

About the dogs!!!! Feel free to update the sailing list, I don't think the person who originally posted it has been on in forever! I would love for someone to take charge of all the fun stuff!!! I'm OCD about vacation planning but haven't ever been really involved in the FE's since we don't have children, so any volunteers would be AWESOME!!!!

!!!! You guys are going to LOVE DCL!!! This is only our third with Disney and we don't even have kids There is something very special about cruising on Disney. My best friend is sailing with us this year (smashan aka Ashley) and it's her first cruise altogether and I am so excited for her to experience DCL! Only 283 days til we get to Florida!!

Speaking of Florida.... Is anyone planning on coming down early? We are planning on flying in Thursday evening and staying at the Radisson for 2 nights, if anyone else is planning the same we should have a DIS meet by the pool, we did it on our last Disney cruise in 2009 and it was a blast! Just a thought! We got a pretty good rate at the Radisson using the friends and family code, saved us about $110!

I will be more than happy to re-organize the list of cruisers! As to FEs I'll do my best with that one as well. I've not 'headed up' such a thing before but have a few good fellow friends and DISers who I can turn to for advice. Sooo exciting!
