Good morning all,

Wow, this thread is really jumping. Everytime I log on, I have at least 3 pages to catch up on. Well, we'll be making door magnets this weekend and hopefully checking lots more off all the lists.

My list of new drinks to try is sure growing. I'm kind of a stay with the tried and true kind of girl, but I think I'm going to have to break out of that mold for this trip. So many drinks, so little time!

Not only is it three weeks from today but the October group is back and we should get some really good info from them. They seemed like a really fun group of people so I can't wait to hear what they have to say!

We are trying out our costumes tonight at a Halloween party. Of course we are driving three hours to go but it should be a blast.

Wow, all I can say is Wow! You guys have been adding to the count. I got so excited when I saw a new name and just new it was a lurker. I was sooooo wrong, blast it. We will be eating wherever it is close. HA HA So I guess that will be Parrot Cove. I have learned, after all theses many years, to never get between eating and my DH if I still want to have a sweetie with me. Hence the reason we have early dining. MEN...cant live with them (oh yeah I dont) and cant live without them (that must be why I miss him)

You are sooooooo funny. Yes that is why someone wrote a cookbook back in the 40's call, "A Way To A Man's Heart" I have the old 40'a version from my mother. When my mother got married 1948 she received it as a gift. I have cooked from it all my life. The saying is true. So is the saying music calms the savage beast. NO...YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MAKE MAGNETS FOR THE TAG GAME!
txaggie will give you one ONE magnet with your list of cabin numbers. You take the magnet and the gift and place it on the door of the tagged person. You will get a magnet on your door when you are first tagged....you take THAT magnet and you next gift to the next person on your list. The magnet indicates that you have been tagged and the gift hanging from your 'fish' is a tag gift. As some folks may be leaving surprises for each other that are not part of the tag game, the magnet helps indicate this particular 'surprise' is for the tag game. BTW, I suggest you place the magnets above 'child' height on the door OH....cut off is 10/21, so she should be giving you a final count then.

Yes, we will have a grease board on our door, a small one in lime green (of course!). I'm thinking we should have one INSIDE so Peg and I can leave each other messages if anyone wanders off while the other is sleeping.

The plan is for Parrat Cay for embarkation lunch (Peg has the right of veto if the day is just too glorious and she wants to hunt for an outside table at topsiders while schlepping carryons). Oh, and I don't think I answered the arrival question either.....we're being picked up from AKL at 10...so should be at the terminal at 11AM WEARING our boas of course!

OK....gotta take the car in this morning.....nasty rattle, hope it's not a $$ fix! Oh well, at least there will be Disney rewards involved.

Got a question about the lunch when we board the boat. I read somewhere that they have shrimp in one of the resturants. If this is true, that will make my youngest sons (and mine) trip perfect before we even leave the dock. So, which one is it? Parrots or Topsiders? Or both? That's the one we will be heading to.

Marines are very proud people. When my brother was in he looked at himself in a different way. Even out he still talks of them in awe. Marines really do build men. I believe that and I'm just an Army brat. They are a group of their own and proud of it more than any other service.

Just found out that DH will be leaving for China on this coming Monday and will not be home until Nov 6th! We are working a polling place for the election on the 7th, and then leaving on the 9th! Guess the final planning and packing are all up to me! Did I mention he will likely leave again the day after Thanksgiving to fly back for 3 more weeks. YIKES!

Don't bother unpacking for him. Just send him out with his cruise luggage.

As a Husband, I take exception to this. We husbands get a bad rap. In my case, I do all the packing for our trips. Then, if something isn't right, it gives my wife a reason to be mad at me...not that she needs another one.

I forgot to say thanks Jackie for the bands we got them and the kids were so excited. I'm sure you've heard this before but "the check is in the mail". Many thanks again.

As for the upgrade I'm not really sure how it works. I was just updating my information when I noticed a room change. When I call to check on it they told us we had been moved up. What a pleasant surprise. I still haven't told the kids I think I'll just surprise them.

Has anyone got their disney packets yet? I see we have the mail seating on the website. Which is great for us but how do I find out what rotation we are on?

Here's the bananas foster martini receipe I found:

Vodka, banana liqueur, espresso, Godiva chocolate liqueur, vanilla ice cream and powdered cocoa....mixed in a blender. I don't know...I think if there's ice cream in it, it isn't REALLY a martini. But it sure sounds yummmmy!

So much going on. Time is moving fast. Seem to have so much to do. Txaggie I PM you.
Sounds like everyone is having fun packing or planning their packing. I do ours. It just seems easier. I also pack the, "what if this happens", items. I just don't think most men, not all men I should mention, just most men don't think of those types of items. They just live for today and that moment. I always have to have the "what if's" with me. I have always been that way even when I was in my early 20's and going on vaca. Never know when you will need a "what if item".
Well, this is the weekend I will finish getting the balance of my plants into the house. I will clean and wash anything that gets in my way whether it needs it or not. Just kidding. Just washing whatever is needed for packing. I can't believe it is only 3 weeks as away. I am trying to keep my composure, but it is so hard. Can't wait to meet everyone.
So Has Michelle tried on her dress yet? Might as well as the burning question, as inquiring minds want to know at this point. Hope all is well with the fit and at least there is still time to do alterations.
Guess it is time for me to get myself doing what I am supposed to be doing. The only way is to get off of here. You could spend a day here.

DIS CELEBRATION LUNCH!

Here's the plan: Lunch 12:30 PM Thursday (sea day) at Parrot Cay. Why 12:30 you ask. There will be a special event listed in your DIS navigator that takes place from 11:30-12:30, so block off that time also, you won't want to miss this SURPRISE event!

Here's what I need from you all right now: If you think you are interested in attending this lunch I need to know for my preliminary count to give to the head server embarkation day. Just post or PM me with the number of people you THINK might be coming with you. What I REALLY need is your real name AND cabin number** (so you may want to do this in a PM), so that you can be contacted on Wednesday with a reminder. Hannonsmom has graciously offered to have the concierge staff do this. Once we are on board, you can also contact me (7612) with any change of plans. (Yes, the ship phones have voice mail!) We just want to be able to give DCL a realistic idea of how big an area we'll need, so they can seat us all together. Also, I (or the concierge) will be able to reach you if I run into any complications when I make the initial arrangements. I believe this is the day they have the cruise staff lunch there, though that should not impact us.

**if you don't know your cabin # yet, or plan on checing on an upgrade at the port, you can just call my stateroom with the revised information.

My son (the wack job that he is) is wondering if he "downgrades" cats will he get a refund? He is now wants and inside deck one cat 12 room, he currently has a cat 7. He is worried that he will not have any beer money. Funny part is that he does not even drink (or so he led me to believe). Should I be worried?

Well, this happy bunch sure is chatty these days. Couple of things I've got on my mind

1) Pat - is that the lovely princess Sarah with you in that photo? I can't wait to see you guys - I love the headress! Oh, no worries about worry - I believe you already know about the surprise... (no hints here though)

2) Kris - how are your wedding plans all coming? Are you all set? We've missed you and PAT in chat lately!

3) Jackie -are you out pulling weeds? I have to go into the office but will check with you hopefully before lunch time - get your alterations and hopefully we can hook up.
