I see what happens to you all when I'm gone for a few days. Feather boas and tiara's? For the boarding photo? Ok, you gals have just gone WILD! But... I am a confident woman - who also knows the importance of joy - not afraid of being my foolish self - so WHAT THE HECK???? I'll do it if you all are! You can't call me a party pooper!

So yes, I'll find a feather boa (need to look at the sites) - no tiara for me only because I know I'll get a headache from it...took me forever to find a visor that didn't give me one - anyway... I'm up for the SISTER-MEET! Very cool and also always up for a good laugh!

Speaking of that - a co-worker was reading/listening to some self help tapes and they asked "how many people you know actually really belly laugh - and let them selves go?" She said she thought of me immiediately! Well, duh, laughter is the best medicine after all!:rotfl2: :rotfl: :cool1:

I guess I will get a boa as well. My family is gonna think I have lost my mind. They already are not real sure about this whole "DIS" thing. When they see me trampsing around the terminal with a boa on they are sure to have me commited. The best part, ready for the belly laugh, is that my neices in-laws are coming and I have only met them 2 times for the wedding. Imagine what they will think. :rotfl2:

Have a good night.

Well, guess we'd better order our boas too! I must have lime green....and the one I already have isn't feather....it's scrawny craft-shop trim...I need a REAL one ::yes:: Let's order them together Peg...save on shipping costs.

I worked overtime tonight....another $25 or so to put the 'cash for cruise' fund!

DH is finally getting into the cruise spirit :) He went out and bought a new bathing suit, some cruise clothes and most suprising of all a pair of crocs! He came home and said he'd bought something he said he never would and pulled a pair of the crocs (athens style) out of the bag. He then wanted to know why I never told him they had "normal" looking crocs -- men!

I think we are going to pass on the boas. They just won't go with anything Dave owns! :rotfl2:

Thanks for the first laugh of the day!

and thanks, Pandamom, for the second laugh of the day!

Well, I called DCL this morning to MAKE SURE they showed me paid up and a CC member...don't want any surprises when I go to make my on-line reservations this weekend. ;)

I'm starting to have cruise dreams more frequently now, have had a couple in the last week. I don't really remember them, just remember that they took place on a ship. :boat:

Lime Green is so not my color....I will look like one of the dead pirates from the first POC movie! Maybe I will get one for my niece and make her wear it...she looks good in green

I remember reading a bunch of pages back about everyone getting lime green shirts to wear at the port.

Well, my group of around 54 people all decided to get lime green shirts from a Disney discount website. And, we are all planning on wearing the shirts to the port on Saturday morning so we can all find each other. So, if you see a bunch of New Jerseyians wearing lime green t-shirts, you know they are part of our group.

Jack

Jack, your folks are gonna get bombarded with other Dsisers coming up to them asking their name. They are gonna think we are an overly frienldy bunch, until we insist on their screen name, then they are gonna think we are crazy. :rotfl2:

Betsy and I are in for the lime green boas. Not sure what the rest of our group will think, but then I do love to embarrass my boys :rotfl:

Wendy, that was one of my favorite things to do when my boys were growing up. When they started highschool, I told them if they were ever late for the bus and I had to take them to school, I would be wearing my pajamas, big fluffy slippers and I would even put some curlers in my hair to complete the ensemble and march with them right into school to the office to sign them in. They never missed the bus. :teeth:

Well I told some of the family tonight I was gonna wear the boa. Glad I knew CPR. Tried to talk my Dsis into joining in, but they threatened her with her life. I will continue to work on her and maybe even buy her one and give it to her when we get there. my DGD will think it is great and want to join in.

Too funny!

I think I will have to pass on the boa. My freinds joining us from NY will think I finally lost it.
Side note.. I went to the croc store at the Orlando airport. It is a tiny little store and carries about 6 differents styles. Adult and children sizes. They also and hats and some other items with the crocs logo on them. The little "charms" that you can attach to them are not made by crocs. They are called jibbitz. The store sells out of them very quickly and they only had a few letters left when we were there. I did check out thier web and they have a ton of stuff, but nothing Disney.

We are castaway cay members, and we just made our final payment today.

I was told that we can start to make reservations online, starting 90 days prior to our sailing date, and that would be on Sunday, August 13th., for our Saturday, November 11th., sail date.

If all that is correct….. Can the experts either fill me in (or point me to the detailed "How To's"), on everything I need to know about making all my reservations online.

I am starting to make a list of what I want and when I want to do it. Hopefully, I can complete this with my DW's help tomorrow.

Some of the questions I can think of now are….
* Exactly, when can I start making reservations.
* Is it worth staying up late, or should I just try my luck around 7:00am the next morning (which is about 1 hour after the kids wake me up).
* Is there an order the reservations I make (for example, Palo's, then Spa, then Excursions)
* Should I make reservations for "just what I want" or make reservations for "what I want and what I think I would want", and then possible cancel later.

Are there any questions I should have asked, but didn't?

Thanks for all. I welcome any and all help.

==================

Also, I could use specific help with choosing when to go to Palo's for dinner, and for requesting our dinner time.

My DW and I will be traveling with our DS6 and DD5. We have guaranteed "early sitting" dinning.

I was told that we could request (but not be guaranteed) either 5:30, 5:45 or 6:00 pm dinner times.
I saw that someone posted what they thought the restaurant dinner rotations would be for each time.
Are these restaurant dinner rotations what will happen on our cruise, or are they just a best guess.
Either way, my DW said that she would like to ask for 6:00pm, to give us more time to get back to the ship, and get everyone ready for dinner. With two youngster's, our dinners do not stretch out very long, so getting to the late shows would not be an issue.
? I think that the previously posted 5:30 restaurant dinner rotations, would be the best match up of restaurant and suggested cruise dress. So what would be better, trying to match up the restaurant dinner rotations to the suggested cruise dress, or asking for a the time that fits our family better. "My thought would be to ask for the dinning time we wanted", what does everyone else think.

As for our Palo dinner reservation, I was thinking of 6:00pm on our second at sea day (Thursday Night). If we did Palo's on two nights, I was thinking of Tuesay Night (Costa Maya day).

=================

If anyone has gotten this far in my post, I really, really have to thank you for your help.

When we did our Palo dining on our last cruise, our 5 year old ate in the Oceanears Club (which normally requires that the children be checked into their clubs about a half an hour before the club's scheduled dining time - meaning, I think he had to be in the club by 5 pm). Our older 2 children (ages 9 and 11) ate in the normal dining room without us (per the request of the servers) at our 6pm seating time- our Palo ressies were at 7pm. They loved it. :yay:

As for what night to do your Palo meal, any night other than the first AP night should be fine. If you end up getting a dining rotation that conflicts with your Palo ressie, you can always change your Palo ressie once you are on board.

About booking ressies on-line. I would try to get the ressies in order of your highest priority (is the excursion more important than the spa time, or your Palo ressie time, etc). Is it worth staying up? :surfweb: Guess that depends on how important the times are to you for the ressies. Some would say don't worry about it, you'll have fun no matter what you book. :thumbsup2 Of course I am someone who will be out of town camping this weekend, and am having someone else make my ressies for me so that I can go to Palo on the days that are my first preference. :teeth:

Hello RayRing,

Going to try and give you a little help but I am no expert.

You are correct that castaway members can book on line 90 days out which is tomorrow or Sunday. To book on line resevations you need to go to Disneycruise.com and register. Then you need to log on to the cruise reservation area. To log on you will need your reservation number and birthday of the lead passenger. I am about a 5 on a 10 scale computer literate scale and after a little while was doing just fine. Booked the brunch at Palo's and registered my 2 youngest for the kids clubs yesterday and am going to book some escursions shortly. Once you get in it is pretty self explanatory, easy to navigate, and easy to book reservations. It's almost to easy. Gotta remember that all those activities cost $$$$. There are seperate tabs for Palo's, excursions, spa, and kids registration. That's right, you can register your kids up for lab of Club before ever getting on board. Gotta hand it to Disney, they got this thing down. You can also do some pre boarding paperwork, and going away gifts for the room. One suggestion though, if your like me, remeber to write your pass word down so you can get back in later. I got way to many passwords in my life right now.

Dining rotations are at 5:30, 5:45 & 6:00 pm for early seating. Once you get a time it stays with you for the entire cruise. I think APLAPLA is the 6:00 pm time slot. Not sure about the others. You can find out by looking at the navigators on the DIS board.

I would not recommend Palo on Thursday night because that is the Captains Gala night for dinner. That's the night you get lobster, all you can eat, and some other good food. Actually, every night is great so you gotta miss one good meal for another. But it certainly is worth it to go to Palo's. Also, you can only book one brunch (Monday or Thursday) and one Palo's dinner. Monday night I think is formal night so that is probably a good night for Palo's since you are dressing up anyway. The Pirates Dinner is on Wednesday (I think, can anyone verify please). I got 3 boys so there is no way they would let me miss pirates night. But my kids are a little older than yours and loved the 2 movies. Also, if you have great will power you can always have dinner with your kids at your early sitting, only eat a very little bit.....a taste or two(thats where the will power comes in) than check them into the club and head to Palo's for a nice dinner at 8:00 or so. That way you do not miss anyting in the dinning area and get to spend some quality time with your kids. My wife and I did that once and it worked out ok. It would have worked out great but we failed miserably on the will power part and had a few more taste than we should have. It was definately our servers fault. Shoved all the food right down our throats.

Ok, enough of my rambling.
