November 10, 2007 - MAGIC - Eastern

Just have to say, Wait until you see my fish extender. I purchased the materials and my neighbor put it together for me. She did a really great job. If someone tells me how to post a photo, I will.

Ooh....can't wait to see all the cute fishie extenders! If you open a free photo bucket account you can upload pictures from your computer. Once an image is loaded you can copy the last line under the photo right into your post. I think it is called IMG code or something similar. It is super easy.

Morning Cheryl! It's only 50 here in CT and rainy, but I'm with you - I can't wait for the warm weather. Anyone checked lately to see what we're supposed to have weather wise?

I checked last night......mid 70's - mid 80's and some chances of rain. I'll have to check again but I think the chances of rain were for St. Marten.

Michele,
When are you going to the Dr. with Connor? My Dr. gave Eric some chewable prednisone just in case we have problems with asthma or coughing on the cruise. If Connor has got a bronchial cough problem a 3 day course of oral pred might really help him. Has he ever taken that?

So you know, if there's ever a disaster in CT, we may not have food, water, or other clothing, but we WILL have clean underwear and socks! :rotfl2: Since it's cold here, all our summer clothes were ready to pack.

You are killing me! I was finally able to get the summer stuff and necessities packed last night for 3 of the kids. Eric was dancing around me like a little puppy asking, "Did you pack this? Did you pack that?" He was driving me batty! I was so glad I had him done before he got home from school!

that I am surfing the DIS boards! At least I got here at 6:15 and there really isn't many people around. I have to be sneaky....I am only staying till about 12 anyhow. :hourglass

Who was it that was leaving today? My memory is awful right now.

I checked weather yesterday and it was 80's with showers everyday. Here is the updated forcast.
st maarten 84 showers
st thomas 81 showers

We're going to the doc this afternoon. I'll ask her about the prednisone, we've never had that one before, surprisingly. :) We've been doing pulmicort breathing treatments with the nebulizer two or three times a day but there's really been no change. Usually that works pretty well. Does Eric have a nebulizer, or does he use the inhaler? We have trouble with the inhaler, so I stick with the nebulizer generally.

Too funny! Connor hasn't asked me one thing about what I packed, but I'm guessing we'll get down there and he'll want to know why I didn't bring x or y item with us. Men! Can't pack for themselves, but they sure know how to be annoying while we're doing the work. :lmao:

Sorry guys...off topic to Michele....

Yes both Eric and Adam take nebulizer treatments. Ususally it is Zopenex or another cheaper form of albuterol. They really only need this when they are sick. Isn't the pulmicort a steriod? When my kids do not respond to breathing treatment the Dr. always starts them on the orapred. It is only a 3 day regimen. Since I can't take my monster nebulizer with he gave me the chewable prednisone. Eric will be able to use MAXAIR inhaler if he needs it. That is the same as I use.

Cheryl,

We'll have to chat if we have time on the cruise - we love all Connor's doctors generally (he sees 5 different specialists in addition to his ped) but we just started going to a pulmonologist and we weren't too happy with her. We go back in Dec and are seeing a different doc which is good. Connor doesn't seem to have any problems unless he has a cold or gets sick. He had croup so many times that I've lost count (at least 6 ER trips) and now seems to get bronchitis instead of croup. From what they told me, the pulmicort supposed to open the breathing passages and we're supposed to use the albuterol (inhaler) for wheezing. I'll talk to our pediatrician today about the prednisone since I prefer not to bring the nebulizer if I don't have to.

Thanks,
Michele

Having a hard time focusing on work. Can't wait until Friday. My DD and I don't leave until very late on Friday.

DD (15) is almost done packing. She has all her pins organized. Magnetic signs are almost done. I told her she needs to finish these tonight so I can print them.

I'm pretty much done packing except for the last minute items.

My Aunt stays at my house and watches the cats for me. My grandmother takes my dog. I am thankful for both. The down side to my aunt staying at my house is I have to make sure the house is in good shape. One more thing to worry about.

Only 4 more days until we cruise with Mickey!!!

We're doing the Lord Sheffield, too! It got such great reviews from people -- we're really looking forward to it!

I think my son is more excited about this than anything else :lmao:

Since we are tendering in, does anyone know where we dock? Do the tenders dock near where the cruise ships are? That part has me nervous since I have directions from that port. :scared:

I finally got our suitcase upstairs, now I have to fill them. The weather has been so strange here lately that's it's hard to tell which clothes we need day to day. Hopefully I can get the kids mostly packed today but since they are off from school, I can't guarantee it.

Stimpy- I know, the weather has been so weird. Today is just too dreary for me.:sad2:

Trying to take out all the extras that the kids keep throwing in their suitcases. They want to bring everything but the kitchen sink! I think they are planning on staying on the boat forever.:rotfl:

I don't think we tender at St. Maarten. The Lord Sheffield is at Dock Martin/Great Bay Marina -- a short walk from the cruise ship dock.

Rethinking what I am packing after just looking at weather.com for Saint Martin and St Thomas...rain showers now until the last day they have listed which is the 15th.
