November '08 ~ What Do You Mean It's Over? Should we plan another???

Mornin Peeps!

You are all welcome for me updating the list.:goodvibes Sorry it took so long for me to do it. I hadn't done it in a month, so I really fell behind. I'll try not to let it happen again.:upsidedow

Thank goodness Spring is here! I thought I would just die if I had to see snow one more day.

To those who are still fighting it- chin up!! It won't be much longer now... :grouphug:

I get to make ADR's on the 26th!!!!!:woohoo:

Still haven't bought plane tix. Should have gotten Air Tran when they were $79 p/p each way. I am waiting on Southwest to release their next schedule. For those interested- it will be on the 17th, around 10 am central time.

On May 1st- I will be buying MNSSHP tix- we are going to go to the one on our arrival day- unless I haven't bought plane tix at that point.

As far as plans for the summer-
for the fourth of July we go to Charleston SC for two weeks to our parents houses. I may or may not stay longer- I usually just wing it, depending on how the kids are doing.

DH and I MIGHT be going to Jackson Hole, WY for a winners trip with his work. Still up in the air at this point. Never been there.

Hum...that's about it. Not much else.

Oh yeah, my Mom comes in to stay with us the second week of May. That's when I was going to go to DL with DH, but I cancelled it so we could put that money towards October's trip.
Mom will be with us until June, which is nice. I get a break from being the cook, laundress and maid. Mom comes in and takes over. N-I-C-E.
Go Mom!!!

:rotfl:

Have a great day, Octo-Novemebe-Cember'ers!:upsidedow

ILMICKEY: We are from Michigan too, Chesterfield (45 minutes S of Port Huron)
We are only a couple hours apart. I've been to Visteon in Chesterfield a couple times to sort parts (we used to supply to them).

There's talk with some of my other threads for a mini meet in August at Cedar Point.

My BFF and I talked about just going to local campsites this year on weekends with the kids.
Cedar Point and Camping!:thumbsup2 No better place to camp than in Michigan.

Wow, I can't believe how the list has grown. Thanks for the update JoBird.

A big :welcome: to all the new November travelers.

I have been keeping myself pretty busy lately looking for a new job. I really hate to make the change right now but after 9 years my current job is just not working out anymore. Which means I may end up having to cancel my WDW trip. :sad2: I really hope that does not happen. I've been looking forward to this trip for quite awhile now and honestly I need it. What better than a few mental health days in WDW. :drinking1 (I couldn't find a meditating smilie, so a drinking one will have to do) So I am crossing my fingers hoping if I do find a new job my new employer will allow me to take the week off. Cross you fingers.

Hi folks - I spent the last week contemplating going in August for free dining.

Actually my hubby and I got into an argument about it because I wanted to pull the kids a week from school to do free dining. :cutie:

Oh well - after much contemplation and arguments we are sticking with our original plans and going in November. I have mixed feelings...maybe I just got swept up into all the excitement about Free Dining ...and November didnt seem so exciting. HA...Ok Lets see some excitement fellow Novemberers...

You maybe adding my name to the list soon, if it works out it will be Nov 8 to 16.

Jo, those are two wonderful trips you have planned, have fun! I love Charleston, and Jackson Hole is GORGEOUS. The first time you stand before the Grand Tetons is something you'll never forget. Plus a lot more of the original Jackson Hole resort land has been donated for public use, so you'll be able to explore places I never got to. Certainly something to look forward to as you wait for Disney!

AWwwwww, thanks!:goodvibes

I'm from Charleston originally, so, LOL- I don't really look at going there as a vacation- it's just "going Home".:) But my Aunt does have a home in downtown Charleston, so I do get to go spend a few nights there and be a tourist. The kids love the Battery and the Aquarium is wonderful, so I guess that's some of the stuff we'll do there. I like to go down and just walk around in the mornings, taking pics and such.

As far as j.Hole- I've never been anywhere like that, so we are looking forward to going, if it works out for us to get to go. WE aren't used to trips like that- DH's old company would send us to beaches- Hawaii, Cabo San Lucas... other "Beachy" places in the middle of summer. Did you go there for a vacation or did you used to live there?

No I'm from New York. Your comments about Charleston make sense, though. I sometimes have to remind myself that New York is full of tourists because it is a vacation destination, and at that, for people from all over the world. It reminds me that I'm lucky to be from there and still live relatively close and be able to go "home" to it all the time with minimal expense. Including the holidays, last weekend was the fourth trip there this year for my girlfriend and me.
Actually, I've been all over the country, some on vacation, some on business trips. Before I got my doctorate and became a professor, I worked for my father and his exhibit business. Sometimes that meant the woodshop, sometimes that meant traveling to the shows either on my own or with my father. When I went to Wyoming, it was after a business trip to Denver. My father and I returned through Wyoming, Idaho, Montana and South Dakota before "Interstating" it the rest of the way. It was a memorable trip. The landscapes are amazing out there, the sky really is enormous (it sounds like a cliche until you're actually there looking up at it), there are wild buffalo, grizzlies and black bears, grey wolves and mountain lions, and when we were in Montana, it was the first week of July and it was snowing!
I remember one spot in particular. There's a field of wildflowers directly before the Snake River, and on the other side of the river the Tetons shoot straight up. It's breathtaking. You'll have a wonderful time, I'm sure!

I'm crossing my fingers for you, particularly since I know the travails of seeking appropriate employment! I hope it all works out....

It's just me, but here ya go- Everywhere you go will feel VERY crowded- HOWEVER...
I would never, under any circumstance, go to the MK on a Saturday. Much less the weekend after T'giving.;)

You have to factor in the fact that all the vacationers are trying to squeeze in one last ride on Dumbo in order to make Little Precious stop crying since she is soooooooooo exhausted from being in the parks for the past week and then on top of that, you have the locals that are coming in just to bum around- not that they are riding anything, mind you. They are just there to take up space and watch all of the cranky vacationers lose it with the people in their party.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Go to Epcot-
It is a bigger park, and can hold more people.

If you don't wnat to do Epcot, go to AK. It typically is less crowded, although it may feel more crowded b/c of the small pathways.

Just what I would do...

;)

Thats a tough call. I'm not sure there would be much difference. I would probably go Saturday just hoping the crowds thinned a bit from those leaving from their Thanksgiving trips.
