Nothing New

Well, there's nothing new this morning. Maybe Friday, or next Monday.

Well come to think about it Yavn is on a Trip to Hong Kong Disneyland. So I do not think they will release the new Alice ride until he comes back. Just in case there are some programming cliches. I think we are looking more to the middle or end of April.

ahh...i was expecting great new stuff! but sadly since yes yavn is away i dont think we can expect much of anything new this week.

I remembered that some new things came out on October first, so on January first I was looking for them. When the new land wasn't there, I thought maybe tomorrow since VMK was open so late, and the next day nothing. I think the new stuff will be released when it's released, and just expecting it on a certain day (unless yavn puts it in the newsletter) it just going to make the wait worse. Which is more fun, being disappointed that the new stuff isn't out yet, or being surprised that it is? That's my thought anyway.

Your right..it is human nature to be hopefull.

And since the calender does mention a game (Castle in the Couds) in the evening for the host pin...I think then we will at see a new host pin tomorrow! As for anything else..well who knows????

Ok, ok. I guess I can wait a little longer for the new items/features. But what seems odd is that last month's "green" items haven't been retired yet and the Epcot room quests are still available. Also, I just read through the "timeline and important dates" thread and each month has something new released either on the first or second of the month with all of the last months stuff being retired. Guess I'm not too familiar with what Yavn's job is at VMK. I thought he was just a popular staff member with a newsletter. Didn't now he was so essential to updating VMK with new features/items..

Yavn is much more than than a regular staff member. He is the lead producer of the game. Basically, all VMK staff reports to him.
So, yes. He is very important to the game and would need to be there when any major changes roll out.

Although, we really should see the new Host pin come out today.

Very true wise words...like planning a trip-to me half the fun is in the anticipation of going so i will try to enjoy the excitement of what lies ahead for VMK!

I honestly do not believe the delay has anything to do with Yavn being gone. He is a key member of the team, but that does not mean he has to be at the "home office" for any changes to happen. Business just does not work that way. There is a team of staff that works to make VMK happen. When they are ready, our new goodies will arrive.

Well I just do not see them doing a grand opening without the boss being there. I would say with any product launch in any business the boss is either right there or available incase something goes wrong with the launch.

Thank you, I was starting to think everyone was operating on the premise that the place can't operate without him and none of his staff was competant enough to do anything if he isn't there. Normal businesses operate everyday without the leader in the office. This being a technology base business he would not need to be in the headquarters to participate. I am more inclined to beleive that as hinted there would be one more newsleter before the update. Then the question becomes do we get the update tomorrow or friday or is it more like flying magic carpet.

I can actually see both sides of this issue. I think it depends upon whether
Yavn is a micromanager or a delegator. I've seen both types here at work,
and I really prefer the latter.

If he's a micromanager, I wouldn't expect to see anything new until he
returns.
