Wow - we were going to take advantage of the great Ding price from Detroit for $39, but there is nothing available for Oct. 5-8 except a CS suite for $675/night! I can't believe it's that busy! I had an easier time expanding my Christmas ressie and I thought it would be busier at Christmas. Anyone else run into this problem?

October 5-8 is Columbus Day weekend which is usually the busiest weekend in an otherwise slower part of the year. If you could avoid that weekend you might have better luck.

Just as an FYI, when we tried to book POP for free dining this year, our dates were not available. We pushed our dates out to 14 days even though I knew we were only going to stay 7 & miraculously POP was available. So, I booked the package on-line for 14 days. Then called and cancelled the days I did not want. You might want to try that. Good luck!

You might also want to try travel agencies - they will contract for rooms which won't show as available on the Disney site. I'm surprised you were able to get such a good ding for those dates!

Also, have you considered off-site?

I had the same experience - but if you are tied to those dates - keep calling. Rooms always open up.

Yeah, I tried that, but it didn't work. Best I got was a couple of moderate resorts which would have cost ~$165/night, no discounts available. We just came back from Disney and are going at Christmas, so we were looking to keep it as cheap as possible. Actually, we had to use that strategy for Christmas as POP wouldn't show any rooms less than 7 days, but I wanted to split my ressie and book 4 days prior to Jan. 1. Same after Jan. 1. The CM was great and went along with it and it worked out great.

smep013 - I may do that, but I don't know how long they'll offer this Ding. It's been going for 4 days now, so who knows?
