We need a notary public and we are trying to find a place that has one...DH does not have one at work and he works 9-6 so therefore going to the bank won't work, so what other places are there for us to go? Thanks

We have supermarket bank branches that are open 7 days a week. Maybe there is one in your area. Call ahead though - not all banks have notaries any more.

My local UPS store has a notary! They have weekend hours.

A locally-owned pharmacy by us also has a notary (there's a sign in the window).

We live in a homeowners association and we have a yahoo group. So you can post a message looking for one. I am a notary and have done this a few times for my neighbors. My only request is that they come to my house. I am allowed to charge I think $5 but I never do. Other idea is to post on craigslist. Or post something on facebook and maybe one of your friends is or they know someone. Just did one this weekend cause neighbors friend needed notary and she knew I was one.

Oh and each state tells a notary the most they can charge so make sure you check that so no one charges you too much.

every attorney's office has at least one notary-i used to be one when i worked as a legal secretary, and people would often just walk in and ask to get papers notarized. we charged $10, and it only took maybe 5 minutes at the most.

Do you have TD Banknorth around you? They are usually open until about 7 or 8 at night, plus they are open all day saturday.

You can go to a bank that is not your own as well, they are usually happy to oblige.

Banks, libraries, local universities, (check the bursars' office/legal office), attorney offices, real estate agency, title clerks, car insurance offices, AAA offices
