NOT WDW question, Kinder mommies please help me

"...do you think it is crazy to take photos pretty much at the higlights, getting on the bus, going into the classroom, ect i don't wantto annoy the teachers,
but is this normal or am i being a crazy mommy?"

Wanna know what I did when my ds got on the school bus for the first time 8 years ago??? I walked on the bus right after him and buckled his seatbelt!!! The bus driver said, "maam, we have a schedule to keep here." Talk about annoying, crazy mommy!! I'm just glad my ds hardly remembers that and so is not embarrassed about his first day of school!

There is only one first day of kindergarten so click away!! I know lots of parents who put their kids on the bus the first day, then they drive behind the bus and take pictures of them getting off of the bus when they arrive at the school. At our parent orientation, the principal said not to stress if the bus is late the first day because they need to allow for picture taking on this first day. They also mentioned the first day is a bit different in terms of schedule because of the parents around the school taking pictures etc. I think most teachers understand how special any first day of school is!

I am tearing up writing this now because my son's first day of Kindergarten is next week and I am so proud...and sad...at the same time. Imagine how I will be when my youngest goes off :sad1:

Nobody warned me of this before I had children!!!

Is it just me, or is anybody else already dreading when they go off to college? They're growing up so fast! :sad1:

Nope, haven't reached dreading the college years yet. I'm dreading when they start driving. :rotfl2:

The college thing does scare me too - in-state sounds good to me.

But what scares me as well is the image in my head of me sneaking around and driving behind my children (at a distance of course) the first time they go out at night with the car!!

I say take as many pictures as you like. I'm a big picture taker. Very rarely would you see me at the bus stop without my camera. When my daugher had her second set of school pictures last year I drove her because it was raining and didn't want her hair to go flat. We were late...of course...and the class was already down there. I rushed in and had to take my own pictures so I could get the whole outfit and not just the top part. They humored me...lol The teacher was really great about my obsessive picture taking.

Wow lots of supplies. All I needed to supply was the kid, backpack and snack. She only went half a day though. This year in first grade all they've told us to bring is a glue stick...ummm okay glue stick it is. What about the pencils and paper and all the other stuff. I remember going with much more when I was a kid. With my luck she'll probably come home the first day with a note saying she needs a laptop. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :sad2:

In our district --this would absolutely be the norm!!! Just quickly get pics --say quick goodbye and leave with your tears! Good luck!!

our son starts kindergarden in 2 weeks, he will be taking the bus, but we have a box (literally) of supplies that he cannot possibly carry himself, so MH and i took the day off so we can take him to the bus then drive to the school to drop off the supplies, do you think it is crazy to take photos pretty much at the higlights, getting on the bus, going into the classroom, ect i don't wantto annoy the teachers, :furious:

Oh you poor thing...you can do whatever you want, its your child! Take all the pics you want..though organization is the goal, craziness ensues on the 1st day of Kindergarten, it is expected! You are NOT a crazy mommy for wanting to capture this day & remember it.

At most schools, there is a open house just before school so that you can take all the supplies beforehand..plus let your child meet the teacher/etc. This helps with the first day.

Don't feel intimidated...this is a big day! :grouphug:
