Not thrilled with our BC stay this time

I fear these sort of interactions and service is becoming the norm for Disney. I had small issues happen to me everyday during my trip compounded with CMs that just didn't seem to care. Upon returning home I spoke to another Disney buddy who said they noticed the same type attitudes from CMs and thought it was a fluke (as did i on my trip) and I'm sure you did too. I just hope those reading will voice their concerns should they encounter them. The only way we are going to get the Disney back we are used to is if we let them know we aren't happy with the current Disney.

Our last time there (March 2015) we stayed at BC concierge and while I loved the pool area, I was thoroughly disappointed in multiple things. Housekeeping was terrible. We leave for the parks early, came back multiple times after 3 and sometimes 4pm and our room was never done. We would stay until 5pm for a quick dip in the pool and go the concierge lounge before heading back to the parks. When we were supposed to get turndown service every night, they would have to do a quick first time cleaning of our room. Almost nightly, we would still have to call for towels as they would forget to leave them. So for us, it was like we never had a clean room. We never really received a turn down service, the special candy everyone talked about. Never once a towel animal. We asked multiple times if they would consider doing our room earlier since we leave by 7am. The concierge would type something in the system but it never seem to matter. The lounge was consistently empty of food and there were multiple times the entire lounge was shut down, which was different than Poly. The CM's at the concierge was just meh compared to the regular front desk and concierge at other places. We thought Cape May Cafe was an overpriced buffet. Beach and Creme always had a massive wait. Besides the pool and quick walk to Epcot, it was not worth the price we paid. It was the resort I was looking forward the most and it disappointed me the most.

I doubt that people are not complaining. It's as if someone has crunched the numbers. X number of complaints are acceptable as long as sales are not impacted by Y amount. I think that Disney will not fix a problem as long as sales reach certain numbers.

BTW: DCL which is really a different company from Disney World Resorts, has excellent to outstanding service. They learned that they can charge high rates and still keep attendance up with a high level of service.

If this is a plug to go on a cruise, thanks, but no thanks.

No plug. Just saying that at least one of their companies knows how to provide high levels of service.

Wow. I also thought your mini balcony to be the least of your issues because it is merely a request. BUT if you checked in at 8:15 and verified that request and told the CM that you were willing to wait longer for a full balcony ... well ... that just doesn't seem right. YOU should have been pretty much first in line for your request.

It could be they had a room they thought they could put them in, and then it became unavailable. I know that during one stay I was told which room was mine, only to later be put into a different room, the room next to the one I thought I had. The Privacy Please tag stayed on that door for days, so I'm guessing maybe the person in that room became sick or something. It could be they had a room with a full balcony pegged for the OP, but then for some reason it became unavailable. Always good to remember requests are definitely just requests, no matter how early you check in. But as the OP said, that sounds like the least of their problems.

OP--definitely send off an e-mail. I've received a phone call back after sending an e-mail.

We're just checking out of BCV today, and we've had excellent service this trip. Every CM we've dealt with has been friendly and helpful. Even Mousekeeping has been good, and I'd heard so many horror stories about DVC Mousekeeping I was worried. The biggest problem we've had has been Mousekeeping not replacing shampoo, etc. every day, which isn't an issue for us since we'd brought our own as well. (We're a cash stay, not points, and I've read all sorts of reviews about rooms getting missed or not cleaned properly.) Mousekeeping has even done the dishes for us most days. It's been nice to come back after a day at the parks to discover the dishwasher has been loaded and put on...it's like the breakfast dishes have magically disappeared. And I didn't expect that level of service at all.

Our room request was only partially met, but that turned out to be for the better. I requested ground floor, close to lobby. We got second floor, close to lobby. However, it's been a great location, and the elevators are prompt and haven't been a concern. I think I even like the balcony better than the patio, especially as it's an oversize one that runs the length of the villa.

So sorry for all your troubles. We stayed over Christmas weekend and fortunately experienced the opposite of many of your experiences. We did get a full balcony, only noting it on online Check in, no view but balcony. We recieved our texts on room by one and all bracelets worked. Spoke with front desk, bell services, concierge, and housekeeping during our stay and all went above and beyond to help us. We had a sick teen, and scheduled housekeeping while we were at doctor they helped get us to so done when we got back. Helped us by finding a wheelchair we borrowed for 2 days of our stay at no cost and kept in our room so we get her all over all the parks as she felt better. I'm not diminishing any of your trials, but did want to share our experience also during a busey time. Good luck with your bill.

Or, someone else was assigned the smaller balcony room and marched down to complain and the OP's originally assigned room was swapped out to the complainer. I am very aware the requests are just that: requests. My one and only request I made on my last BWV reservation was "high floor" because we were on the ground floor the last time. I was put on the 2nd floor. Gee. Thanks.

We had a similar experience on our last stay there... We didn't get off DME until about 9:30/10pm, because we were getting in so late I picked up our bags & had them with us (just myself & my 8 year old), we get off the bus at BC, and there are no bell services to be seen. I never got a room text (even though I'd done online check-in). Go in to find a line at the check-in desk with no on-line check-in option (still lugging our bags). It was just a lot at the end of a long day of traveling when we were tired & hungry. To top it off our room was about as far away as you could get.

In the end we made it to our room, found something to eat, and enjoyed our time at Disney.

A PP has made me think... why do we accept sub-par service b/c it's 'Disney' but we wouldn't accept this in the real world?

Op here - bolded your last sentence as this is how I feel again today! As a follow up the billing issue was resolved yesterday, big relief.

So - today it took me 3 tries and over 45 minutes to book a room for our April family trip, kept getting the dreaded stitch page. As I was doing this I also booked a nice hotel and flight for 3 for later this month (not Disney) and then made changes to my MIL's flights on SWA in less time than it took me to book one room via the MDE website.

We travel often for a sport and to visit family and yes I have had issues with a key card not working now and then but nothing like at Disney with the MB roulette and at no other resort/hotel have I had to "request" (aka beg for) a room that meets my needs! Seriously thinking of booking the Dolphin (we love it and have had great service) next trip even though the rest of the family will be elsewhere.

So I am going to re work my "vent post" above and send the info to the resort. Any one or two (maybe even three!) of those issues I would have just forgotten about but there were just too many to let go.
