I really miss those type "dime" stores. Our town had a fantastic Ben Franklin's which was always busy and had a little bit of everything you needed. Sadly, it closed due to the times. Now we have the generic big box stores.,

I had to look that one up.

A "gay parakeet" is a term used for a parakeet, or budgie, that exhibits same-sex behaviors, such as forming same-sex pairs or engaging in sexual contact with another male. These behaviors, like courtship rituals and mounting, have been observed in many bird species, including budgies, and can occur when there are no females present or as a consistent behavior regardless of sex.


So parakeet raised in captivity with only males or only females will choose a mate rather than remain solitary.
