Not sure which character meal to swap

My DD8 and I will be going to Disney for the first time in August. I have scheduled my ADR's, but the more I read these threads, the more I second guess myself! I guess my question is...

We will be at Disney for 10 days. Out of the 10 meals scheduled, 4 are character meals and 1 is a show. Is this character meal overload, or should we schedule more?

More importantly, the character meals scheduled are:
-lunch at CRT
- supper at 1900 Park Fare
- supper at Norway in Epcot
- bkfst at Crystal Palace
Would you recommend replacing any of the meals with, say, a meal with Mickey? I'm new to this, and as this (DON'T YELL AT ME) may be the only time I go to Disney, I want to make the most out of it. Please let me know what you think! Thanks!!

Since you have 2 meals with Cindy and one with the princesses and one with Pooh I would switch out a Cindy meal for a Mickey. Our favorite for dinner is Chef Mickey's, for breakfast we love Donald's Breakfastasaurus in Animal Kingdom or OHana's has Mickey and Lilo and Stich for breakfast. Since you may not be going back any time soon, you have just gotta dine with the big guy : )

I agree with any of these above! These are in our order of favorite to a little less favorite, as none were disappointing! You really do have to dine with Mickey!

Chef Mickey - Buffet (DD has choosen this to go to Christmas morning for breakfast)
Ohana Family Style (we are going back here on Saturday for a birthday party)
Donald's Breakfastasarous Buffet (I need to do this one again - as I had a bad morning getting to AK, and was less than relaxed while we dined)

Our all time favorite however is 1900 Park Fare for breakfast - with Alice in Wonderland, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins and 100 Acre Wood characters - these rotate appearances.

I might switch dinner at 1900 Park Fare to breakfast, as you are seeing "Cindy" at the castle - just trying to get you more characters experiences!!!

Again - as I said on your other post - JMO!!!! (DD had I have done 9 character meals since January - and all have been fun!!!)

My first suggstion would be to add a breakfast. There are several choices: Chef Mickeys, with Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Goofy and sometimes Donald and/or Pluto ,
Restaurantasourus with Donald, Mickey, Goofy, Pluto,
Ohanas with Mickey, Lilo and Stitch, Goofy and sometimes Pluto.

If you had to switch out, I would switch out Park Faire or Norway only because eating at the castle is special. Depending on if your dd likes Cinderella or another princess would be my deciding factor as Norway has a bunch of princesses and Park faire just has Cinderella, Prince Charming, suzy and Perla (the mice), and usually the Fairy Godmother.

Also my niece and nephew are also 8 (twins) and WDW veterans and we have 3 character meals scheduled for 6 days, at their request. They enjoy the characters very much still and it is nice to have the characters come to you instead of waiting on lines that are sometimes slow in the FL heat.

Have a great visit!

Just got back from WDW and completely agree with the suggestion to change 1900 Park Fare from dinner to breakfast. We did both and the breakfast was much more enjoyable to both me and dd6. Also, Chef Mickey's for dinner is great!

We did 5 character meals: Chef Mickey's dinner, 1900 breakfast, Crystal Palace dinner, Norway dinner, and 1900 dinner. I was most disappointed in Crystal Palace dinner. Nothing like the quality I remember from CP breakfasts that I have enjoyed in the past. 1900 breakfast was much better than dinner (received much, much more attention from the characters). Norway dinner was ok but nothing to write home about. I think I'll leave out 1900 breakfast, Crystal Palace dinner and Norway dinner next time.

chef mickeys is one of our favorites :) it is so much fun with a lot of energy. i would sub one of the princess meals - but not at the castle. keep that one on the list! :thumbsup2
