Which one has the the newly renovated rooms -- POR or POFQ?

We are trying to figure out where to stay, now that we booked our airfare. We're looking at either CSR, POR, or POFQ. Please let us know what the positives and negatives are for these resorts. Thanks very much.

i was just at POR and the mansions were renovated...we had comfy mattresses, fresh paint, new furniture, the curtain near the bathroom sinks, and a fridge. not sure if POFQ has been renovated.

POFQ just went through a renovation. The resort was closed. First they did the food court area, and then the rooms were redone.

We like POFQ. It has a charm to it, and the resort is smaller. I find it has a less "crowded" feel. Nothing is far away from the main area and there is only one set of bus stops. FQ is picked up first, then Riverside.

We prefer POFQ over the other two. It is much smaller -- 1000 rooms rather than 2000 rooms. It is very compact and there isn't really a bldg that is in a bad location. The sidewalks are made like cobblestone walks and gas lanterns around the edge. And, we don't get the idea that it is crowded -- even when the resort is sold out. We like the walk by the river -- it is relaxing and romantic.

The food court is smaller than POR but it is a quick walk to POR and you can use all the facilities at POR since they are sister resorts. This means the quiet pools as well as their main pool. FQ only has one large pool and a hot tub. No quiet pools.

Rooms are same size at all three. Decor and surrounding grounds are different, though, at all three.

Well I haven'y stayed at POR but I have stayed at POFQ. We did go over to POR one night and I have to say I loved it more than FQ. It was so nice almost like a deluxe. Of course I didn't see the rooms but the common areas are just lovely and Boatwrights is delicious. If I were to go moderate again I would go with POR.

You cant go wrong with either of these resorts and the best thing is they share their amenities with each other. So as a guest at either hotel you can swim in the pools at which ever one you choose.

Both have been recently renovated. POFQ was closed for almost a year and reopened last May. POR shut down bldgs and renovated them. The mansion section or Magnolia bend was the first one to be worked on.

Have to agree the new beds are very comfy and I like that they are adding fridges as well.

POR- is larger, love the MB section, more pools, the best foodcourt and lounge.

POFQ- is smaller, one fun pool, no full service restaurant

I have a family of 5, and originally booked POR in the AB section, to make use of the trundle beds.

Then I had a change of heart, and booked 2 rooms in POFQ.

Form the pictures on Deb Wills' site, I thought the AB rooms looked shabby. That rustic theme wasn't doing it for me.

Thanks for all your replies! We're a family of 4 (our DDs are 6 and 9). So all we need are 2 doubles or queen beds, a standard room.

I am so torn between the Coronado Springs, POR, or POFQ. They all have different attractions:

1. CSR -- has the Mayan themed pool and multiple slides that the DDs and DH will LOVE; however, so-so to bad food court as the reviews seem to indicate.

2. POR -- newly renovated rooms, and beautiful property; good food court judging from the reviews.

3. POFQ -- same as POR.

I welcome all your suggestions. If you've stayed at all three, what is your verdict on these moderates??? I'm very interested to know because we are coming from so far and spending so much $$$. I want to make this a somewhat perfect vacation!

We stayed at POR in October and we just loved it, we went over to POFQ one day for breakfast and I can tell you since it's smaller it seemed to me that it was more crowded but on the other side the pool has a dragon and that may be more appealing to your DD's, we stayed at POR in the mansions and the beds where great but they where pretty high, you almost have to jump to get in the bed! Can't tell you about CSR, haven't stayed there....

Here are a few more thoughts ...

The pool at the FQ has a slide but it is rather small. The slide at POR is longer and has a few curves in it. The playground at POR is more rustic and designed for older children. The one at POFQ is on the mat stuff and much "cleaner" in regards to the type of equipment. POR playground is much more rustic and on dirt. POR has a place to fish. POR food court has more choices since POFQ is smaller. You can rent bikes and boats at POR and if you are at POFQ you need to go down to POR to rent those.

Both are sister resorts so you can use the facilities at both whenever you want. The walk between POR and POFQ is a nice stroll. With kids your age it would be about 10-15 minute walk depending on how many times you stop and start and what bldg you are in at FQ. You can also catch a bus to Riverside as it is the next stop ... but not back from Riverside. You can catch the boat, when it is running both ways.

The boat picks up and runs at both resorts to DTD. We have stayed at both FQ and Riverside and felt more crowded at Riverside ... again depends on when you go. We much prefer the grounds at FQ over Riverside but that is personal preference. We enjoy the cobblestone streets and gas lanterns along with the Jazz music.

Both resorts have full beds and not queen beds. I think only the deluxe resorts have queen beds but I'm not sure.

I think you will enjoy either resort. Can offer any help on CSR since we haven't stayed there and it doesn't appeal to us since we leave in the SW.
