Hey all -

I'm new to the DVC thing, but would love to find out more regarding renting points for a trip February 2009. My main questions are

Can we still do the DxDDP??
Do we pay the DVC member, or would we still be sending payment to Disney??

We really want to do a 2 bedroom for me, DH, and my mom and dad, but could never afford it. Renting points might put us in the position to be able to afford it.

You will get a lot of responses for this. But familiarize yourself the with the stickies at the top of the rent\trade boards....there is a lot of helpful information there. You can still do the DDP's and Magical Express, but the DVC ownere needs to make those arrangements for you.

Disney does not and will not get involved in this transaction. Everything is done through the member and you cannot even call to confirm the reservation with Member Services. Renting involves a great deal of trust and most go off without a problem......but the possibility still remains.

As TisBit said you can use the DDP but would have to contact who you rent from to add that to the reservation. As for payment, you pay when you checkin at the resort.
